Fantastic place! Not only a touristic must-see and an architectural feast, but also a wonderful experience. Shouldn't be missed. I'd recommend taking the audio guide, but also walk around without one first.

I arrived on a late Sunday afternoon in beautiful summer weather so there was no chance of me getting inside short of an hours wait so I stayed outside. It was still quite the spectacle. An abundance of beauty really!

Planning for visiting to Barcelona? Then know that...

Planning for visiting to Barcelona? Then know that visiting Sagrada costs 20- 30.
If you are searching for answer if that amount is worth it?
Else you are looking at it after reading Dan Browne.. Read on..
First thing to answer is it worth 20- 30 you are planning to spend?
Well, depends, which day and time you are planning to go. It so much worth if it is sunny. Planning to visit on cloudy and dark time then don t waste money and time.
Whats so special here? Building looks ugly outside..

On the outside, bible is depicted with different statues. There 3 facades conveying each phase of Christ. Which is OK.
But magic is inside..
As soon as enter so marvel at tall walls and beautiful beautiful tinted windows. On east side wall they are cool blue reminding you of clear sunrise sky on azure Mediterranean sea. On West there are warm red, yellow and Orange windows. They remind you of warm sunset. It s very special feeling to be there, i don t think any photo or video can do it justice.. There spiral stairs at each corner and they have yellow orange hues on them. Its just breathtaking view to behold. At the central Jesus crucified on cross hangs in air, surrounded by 50 lights. And you can sit on benches and contemplate.
So if you have time and money do visit Sagrada without fail..

Forgot to mention, do book tickets online beforehand..

Lovely work of architectural delight. Though we had to buy the tickets at premium as the general tickets are sold 2/3 months in advance. It is grand and beautiful from inside as well as outside. We were not able to go to the towers as we had an entry ticket for 7.15 p.m.

Oh beauty! Marvelous wonder under construction. Must visit in Barca. I recommend to reserve tickets online in advance and visit the church inside, not just admiring it from outside. Interior lighting through the colored glasses is just magical.

Potentially my favourite building (that I've visited) in existence at the moment. I went at dusk with my wife and the colour of the sunlight through the orange stained glass windows was magnificent. Being religious is strictly optional in this building (although do respect the rules) as visiting it will make you believe in the strength of humans and what we can accomplish when we work together for the greater good.

One note: Airport style security must be passed to enter the building and alcohol is forbidden so it will be taken from you (if it's sealed they'll give it to you back afterwards I do believe) but be forewarned!

Come here even if it's the only "touristy" thing you will do in Barcelona! Amazing! Worth paying for the audio guide service. Don't forget to visit the museum that is included in the price. I don't think you need to go up the towers.. one of the best things I have seen

A must place to visit.
Avoid booking ticket from any other vendor other than it's official site in order to get the refund in case they cancel you tour for any reason.
Book Nativity facade as it is better than the other.
Camera with flash is not allowed.
You better hire a tour guide or at least an audio guide.

Amazing basilica in Barcelona. If you want to go inside though, I highly recommend buying your tickets online on their website prior to your visit. Crowds get insane. Lots of tourist groups too. However, it's still all worth it. The details are fascinating. Audio guides are helpful too but not necessary. A must see when in Barcelona.

A very beautiful church, probably the most stunning I ve ever seen. Definitely worth the price to get inside and it helps support the construction.

Came back after a couple of years and it was cool to see all the changes that have been made. I will definitely be coming back in the future to see it when it s complete.

I d recommend spending at least an hour here just taking in the architecture and beauty. As well if you come later in the day (and probably during the rest of the day, but not sure) the windows beautifully shine their colors on the walls.

The church is amazing, beautiful inside. We took a tour that explained the history about architects and their designing ideas odd the outside and the inside of the basilica. Also had access to a tower that you go up in am elevator but coming down around 400 steps, kind of narrow and scary at times. Overall, great experience!

Beatiful and magnificent work of art and architecture, something that is for sure a tick in a bucket list from things to see around the World. Could not go inside due to no tickets available within 2 days so plan in advance your visit with at least 3-4 days online tickets is the Best option.

Sagrada Familia is the topmost tourist attraction ...

Sagrada Familia is the topmost tourist attraction in Barcelona - and there's a reason for that. It is an architectural masterpiece designed by Antoni Gaudi. Efforts are in motion to complete its construction by 2026 - the 100th death anniversary of Gaudi. Overall, it will take close 150 years to build, but it will be worth the wait. The church is open to visitors since 2010. The detail on the interior and exterior is exquisite. Audio-guide is recommended because it will help you appreciate the thought into detailing of each facade of the church. One can spend around 2 hours here.

Book the tickets from official website beforehand to avoid very long queues. There are even some discounts for people below the age of 30 and on specific days for certain hours in evening. My ticket (including audio-guide) cost 12 - would have been about 25 without the discounts. Afternoon or evening is the best time to visit to admire the light through stained glass windows. You can hear the church organ during mass at 18:00.

Iconic, must-see landmark. Audio tour is worth it. Expect to spend 45mins just following the audio guide, more if you linger and just soak in the architecture. Best time to go is mid to late afternoon (before 5pm), to see the sunlight filter through the stained glass windows.

La Sagrada Familia is a church that it has yet to be completed. It's supposed to be finished by 2026. The tickets are best to be purchased via their site as you won't wait in lines and are cheaper (recommended with audio guide) but generally they are not cheap compared to other cities or museums. The use of the audio guide is simple and is available in different languages. The scenery is unbelievably beautiful!! There is also a museum that has some more information about Gaudi, the architect of many buildings in Barcelona. Be prepared for approximately 2 to 3 hours of walking slowly, standing and taking photos.

If you want to have a best experience in here, try to come on Sunday. They open for the mass and allow people come to see the inside of the church. Try to spend quite some time here in the afternoon as you can see the magnificent sun light shines to La Sagrada Familia and it was magical.

I went to Barcelona four or five times before I ever went in here - I'd seen the outside, but the massive crowds always put me off the tour. "Not worth it, for A N Other big church", I thought. My mistake.

This is an extraordinary place to visit - from the story of the design and construction to the symbolism of the various elements, it's a fascinating tour (and the audio tour is excellent at laying it all out) and the inside of the building is genuinely breathtaking at times. Completely unlike any other church I've seen.

Also they have a statue of Joseph where he looks an awful lot like "Life Aquatic"-era Bill Murray, which is nice.

Construction of the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada...

Construction of the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia at Carrer de Mallorca, 401, 08013 Barcelona, Spain. commenced in 1882, then shortly after in 1883 Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi took over the project as chief architect. Gaudi continued to work on la Sagrada Familia until his death in 1926. Despite remaining unfinished to this day, the church has gained UNESCO World Heritage status and Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the church and proclaimed it a minor basilica as recently as 2010.

Beyond the drama of the architecture itself this relatively modern cathedral achieves the epitome of ecclesiastical architecture. It soars towards the highest technically possible heights both inside and out whilst retaining an airy bright ambience. The religious significance of telling the core Christan stories on the outside - the good news of Christ is for everyone - whilst providing stunning interior spaces for worship, prayer and meditation without the distractions of patrimony or didaction is utterly peerless. If you have faith you will love it. Especially non-Catholics will resonate with it. If you have no faith, well, I think this building will make you wish you had. Which is exactly the point.

This is hands down the most beautiful building I have ever seen. We bought tickets with an audio guide and access to the Nativity facade. The audio guide is definitely recommended since you'll get to hear about the entire process and see the details you otherwise wouldn't have seen.

The tickets used time slots so there isn't a long line waiting to get in and not crowded when you are inside.

This is most likely one of the top reasons you came to Barcelona and the inside of this beautiful building will make it worth it. We went just before sunset to see the sun pierce directly through the west wall and it was beautiful. The colors and architecture are purely amazing! If you aren t going to buy a ticket to go inside then don t bother coming to see it. Buy your ticket in advance.

A must see. Unlike any other cathedral in the world. Due the tour and see the interior. So much thought and detail into everything from the tone and color of the stained glass windows to reflect the sunrise and sunsets differently, to the unique tree like pillars that give it its unique shape and support. We spent hours here.

First things first. Make sure you make early reservations and I would highly recommend getting reservations for both first time of day and second have the day and spending entire day looking at the marvels of world architecture and wondering about Genius of the architect. This is the only church in the world that makes me feel incredible and makes me smile every time I see it. I highly recommend watching some documentaries doing your research to learn as much as possible about this place before you go in. It will make your visit so much more special.

Sagrada Familia was amazing. Feel honoured to have been whilst it is still being completed! It is due to be completed by 2026 so make sure you see it before then. The audio guide is good but worth taking your own headphones as they plug into the bottom of the little phones rather than walk about with something held to your ear.

The only negative is the "fast track" element as this doesn't actually exist. This was confirmed by 3 different staff and we were lucky enough that the 3rd member of staff at the "groups entrance" got us through there as he felt sorry for us.

Go see this but book direct instead of this and you will save some cash.

I'm 50-50 on this building. The exterior isn't my thing. Aside from not being completed for over 100 years, the exterior is a bit hodge podge and seems like a series of after thoughts. BUT, for me, the interior of this church is it's redeeming quality. A bit steep at 40 entry fee, but hopefully they can use some of the money to finish the building?

It certainly is a quirky and interesting building, but I don't get the big fuss about this place. The number of tourists takes away from the ambiance. I was also disappointed that the newer parts of the building have departed so much from the original Gaudi "look", which has heavily undulating building material. Worth taking the metro to Sagrada Familia and walking around for a look. The cathedral is right next to the metro stop. When in Barcelona you have to see it. But I have no regrets not going inside - I couldn't get tickets online anyway as you have to book in advance.

Make sure to purchase your tickets online before visiting one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona. Also, pay extra to get up to the top of the tower to see some of the details of the structure up close and the construction in progress. The exterior of the cathedral was impressive but the interior of the cathedral was just breathtakingly beautiful. I was in awe with colorful stain glass windows and the detailed interior with organic lines throughout the structure almost brought tears to my eyes. I just can't wrap around my head that this building is still under construction, and it's been going on for more than a century. I'm definitely coming back to visit when it is completed in several more years from now.

Interesting mix of new and old on the outside, and absolutely stunning on the inside with all the colours, shapes and history. Tickets are roughly 28 per person if you book online - more expensive if you just turn up. This gets you you access to the audio-guided tour via the app which you have to download on your phone before going - recommend taking headphones or earbuds

One is wonderstruck looking at this monument, truly monumental!
The amount of thought, passion and commitment that has gone into this structure is unbelievable and even as I write this, it is to take another 6 to 7 years to complete... the interiors, the facade, the stained glasses, everything has a deep and profound message for all. The visit to the towers of Passion and Nativity too is worth the wait (for the views from the top are stunning).
Make sure you pre-book your tickets well in advance and take an audio guide. There are a few lockers too available in the premises and we found the staff to be helpful. It's a pity that people are scribbling their names on the walls of the stairwell.

I've been to Sagrada Familia 14 years ago when there was almost nothing inside. Now it's a beautiful basilica, spacious and magnificent inside. Plan ahead and get your ticket before your trip. Didn t realize there is a limit capacity and when we got there, we found out that they are at capacity for the day.
4 stars for the high price they charge for general admission.
We got lucky and manage to get tickets for the next evening.
It is a beautifully build structure, and the architecture on inside is not to be miss even for the amount of $ they charge.
We paid for the Audio guide which is like a old telephone handset. Would have been great f they provided headset so we don t have to hold it to our ear which trying to view the amazing architecture.

There are more expensive tickets to go to two do the tower that are done. But it was sold out for a few days ahead.

A beautiful, historical and spiritual monument. An architectural wonder started around the year 1880 and is still under construction. The exterior is an architectural feat praising the life of Jesus Christ from His birth until His resurrection. The interior is adorned with beautiful stained glass. Each panel of stained glass represents a region through out the world and is embossed with the names of saints from that region. The Basilica La Sagrada Familia is an architectural wonder.

By far worth finding a way to get a ticket and go inside -the architecture the stained glass windows, the ambience and peace felt throughout the edifice. We didn t realize there was an add-on to go up in the tower so for 9 Euro we added it- SO worth it!! They give you a recording which tells the story st each station AND also plays beautiful music as you wander throughout. Towards the back (behind the main altar) is a prayer room- you re allowed in but must have long sleeves as well as long pants (I had on Capri but they were only about 6 above the ankle so I m guessing they were ok).
There is a great restroom and gift shop down below the basilica as well as a small theater room with the full story of how Sagrada came
To be. Well worth the 3-4 hours we spent there.

We did the combo of the Gaudi Museo prior- Which is incredible! The day was long but SO worth it.

It's amazing all the details put into the design and construction of this great church. Definitely worth paying the entrance fee and listening the audio guide for understanding every item of the construction.Possibly the most incredible church I have seen. The brilliance of the light inside, the amazing construction, the sheer beauty. Unfortunately it was raining and I slipped on the slippery surface. Need to groove that surface...or go when it is not raining.Absolutely stunning beauty. Sunshine makes the experience transcendent. Budget about 90-120 minutes. Not sure you need a tour guide, though I had one. The stained glass is incredible.
