BED BUGS!!! Yes, we got BED BUGS at Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort!!!!! One of our guests had hundreds of bites, swollen all over her body. The rest of us got several bites. Management was HORRENDOUS dealing with this. I have never written a review before this situation, but plan to let as many as I can know about this situation.

We come here every year and LOVE this place. Plenty of pools, golf courses, Mini Golf, Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Boats. Restaurants on property but if you have a car, there are a pletherer of things to do, places to shop, places to eat and of course Disney and Universal. Enjoy, you will love this place.

2/11/20: We have been coming to Orange Lake as guests for over 15 years. We have always enjoyed ourselves here, except for this year. What s with the change that Orange Lake now accept dogs? We re all for the important and necessary service dogs but the companion ones are far from necessary, in our opinion. There were two small long-haired Dachshunds at the pool by our unit yesterday. They are staying somewhere in our building (87600). Our relaxing poolside afternoon the other day soon changed when the dogs were wheeled in by their owners in a doggie stroller. They proceeded to whimper and whine most of the time occasionally being scolded by their owner, which didn t last long. They also barked at the service dog that was on the other side of the pool again being scolded by their owners, which (again) didn t do any good. I heard the owner comment to someone in her group that one of the dogs just loves the water . We knew we were in trouble when she allowed the leashed dog to walk along the pool s ledge where the higher water is captured and drained. He/she then accidentally fell/jumped into the pool. As I type this, I can hear them barking and we re on the six th floor with the windows closed. We also noticed several little packages left on the stairs that were eventually cleaned up but not before someone stepped in it.

There was also a dog at Tradewinds last night. Granted, they ate outside but they proceeded to parade it through the inside, twice.

I just read your pet policy online which states that pets are not allowed (except service animals) and will be removed immediately . What happened to that policy? Whoever approved this policy change didn t think about the people who are allergic to dogs, not to mention fleas and the whining and barking the other guests have to listen to.

If this is going to be the norm, we may have to consider staying somewhere else.

Great hotel for the fam!! Had a blast for two weeks but on my last days one of the workers was very rude and did not know how to treat customers!! It was at the new pool with the two waterfalls and one slide!!! I went to et there and mentioned
To them that there were flys.. And he said the can put anything there for them that it was unsanitary but isn't it worse to have them land on your food... Btw were owners and never been treated this way!!!his name is Ahmed!!!!!!!ass hole!!! I rate it four because I had. Blast except right before I left!!! Hope this won't happen again!!!

If you stay less than 5 days, there is no room service. Though they give you some Purex and tell you there is a laundry room on the floor. It would be $8 for a fresh set of towels.

You'll need a $9 wrist band to get a tube for lazy river, and some other children's activities. Room was clean and nice, with a full kitchen.

This place is spread out, sure they have a shuttle, but you ain't "going down to the pool for a dip" unless you have a room near the pool area.

It wasn't bad, but wasn't great and in Orlando there are plenty of other options.

Stayed here on our honeymoon back in 2013. The resort amenities were pretty nice! I would say though, that the pools were usually overcrowded. There were some restaurant and shops on site, but we ended up walking to the Walgreens across the street for some basic needs they didn t have on site. Our room itself was amazing!! We stayed in a suite, so it had everything we needed.

The Holiday Inn Club Vacation was very nice. I liked you could buy a refillable Coke style cup. The pool was nice and my kids had a great time. If you're into golf the course ran throughout the property.
When you want to watch movies in the living room I think it needs a slightly larger TV.

My fiance and I have been to this resort almost every year since we've been together. It's been like a second home with all the amenities they provide, the always great service and experience as well as all the area has to provide. I would highly recommend Orange Lake resorts to anyone!

Very nice rooms with ample space to move around. The Villas are nice and clean and come with a nice welcome pack of cleaning and laundry supplies. Resort amenities are nice and usually have a pool within walking distance of your room. The kids love it too.

Im leaving this review to address the many "idiots" on here that complain about the timeshare and the sales pitch aspect. And this is what i have to say. YOU IDIOTS WHO ACTUALLY SIGN UP FOR THE SALES PITCH TO SAVE TWENTY BUCKS HAVE NO ONE BUT YOURSELF TO BLAME. If you are a cheapo and care about saving 20 dollars on a rebate for mini golf then you deserve to have 3 hours of your life wasted during their timeshare pitch. And if youre dumb enough to buy a time share youre an even bigger idiot. I am a happy owner of a unit in the west village. Ive been an owner for 20 years. This place is gladly referred to by me all year as "the happiest place on earth". All those who want an honest review on here pay no heed to those who are bitching about the salespeople. That doesnt change the fact that this resort is absolutely amazing. I have stayed at my usual unit and the newer units elsewhere on the complex and I promise you, I have never in any of the ten plus times ive stayed here had a room that fit the description others give it. Ive NEVER HAD A ROOM WITH MOLD, BAD CARPETS, BAD TILE WORK, BAD KITCHEN APPLIANCES, DIRTY FACILITIES or anything of the like. however, if i just got to my resort after a long day traveling and got sucked into a 3 hour tour i didnt wanna take id probably have a bad taste in my mouth too and trash talk about the rooms. the rooms here are nothing short of perfect. It has everything. You name it. You never have to leave the premises because theres a shopping plaza on site connected by a private road to a Publix grocery store, applebees, liquor store, Chinese, pizzeria. you name it. The resort restaurants are awesome. They have amazing night life at the bars. The sports bar at legends is grade A. The golfing is amazing. Cheap as dirt and high quality, even championship quality. River Island is practically a water park in and of itself and is free but u have to rent the tubes. It really is its own gated community where you never run out of stuff to do. This is by far the best resort ive ever been to in my life and its perfect for family vacations. You will absolutely love this resort if you vacation here but remember when you check in, just get the process done and when its over they will try to give you a coupon that you redeem at the other "services counter" just say ok, get ur check out all done and give the lady back the coupons and walk out the door and go to your hotel room! skip all the drama and just say no to the sales pitch and start ur awesome vacation at orange lake! i promise youll love it.

I stayed here for 1 week and the service was bad. They forced you to take a tour that was supposed to be 90 min but lasted for over 3 hours. When the agent realized that I was not going to buy a timeshare she became very rude. I do not recommend this resort for Families because everything on this resort you have to pay extra for your kids like the waterside, tubes for the lazy river eta. The pool closes at 10:00 pm but the pool bar closed at 5:00 and the staff was just rude.

I love Orange Lake Resort and Country Club and we have been owners since 1994. The resort is beautiful and the amenities are great. As others have stated, "just avoid the sales pitch." Every year they want us to listen to a sales pitch so they can sell us another unit, or switch to points. We tell them no, we are not interested, but they will not give up. We already own three weeks. When we first purchased, the maintenance fees were a little more than $200.00. Now they have risen to more than $800.00 for each unit every year. Sometimes we wonder if it is really worth it but we still enjoy the vacation.

I ll give it 5 stars for how nice the place was, definitely would like to come back.

The timeshare presentation was a little awful but I suppose those things need to be. I m sure it works for some people just not for us.

What a joke. They take $430 of your money and tell you if you go on a tour they will refund in cash. We went on the tour and when we said we didnt want to by time share all of our money was not refunded. This place is a joke! Beware of BS charges on your account when you check out. The place is infested with bugs as a side note. Beware!!!!! I'm posting this on Scam report tomorrow and listing all the employees names that were involved in this scam.

Our room was never cleaned in the 3 days we were there and we got annoyed with going to a timeshare presentation several times. The resort itself has a lot of amenities and is clean but I would never go back.

I love this resort. We are timeshare owners which gives you great deals, awesome discounts and amazing treatment. Since my last visit, they have obviously updated the villas, which look very fresh and clean. We instantly felt at home upon arrival. The amenities are amazing as well. The only dislike was going from one line to another during check-in just to receive the car pass.

If you're looking for a good place to stay in Orlando, FL that's close to the Disney animal kingdom this is it! The villas are beautiful and secluded. Well kept and is perfect for traveling families.

Our villa faced the golf course and it was quiet and amazing. House was very clean and smelt amazing. I love how they provide everything for you. Dishes, soap and front desk always answers any questions you might ask. Our villa was close to the entrance and one of the many pools they offer on site. All the restaurants are tasty.

So far this a great place. It's a lot bigger than I thought. The lazy river was great. I dont like that they charge extra for the tubes and wont let you use your own. The kid zone is also extra ...the pools are great though...little crowded but still fun. You are very close to disney so that is nice. The 2 bedroom villa is great. Clean and big. For a family of 6 it is plenty big enough...disney doesn't offer good 6 person rooms for the money so this is great! Over all pretty good experiance so far. We are 2 days in out of 7 so hopefully things remain good.

I would rate this 1 star, but that wouldn't be quite fair.
I've been to this resort 7ish times in the last 13 years and every time we come here, the experience is generally ruined by the service and sales staff.

The pools and lazy river are all well and fine, but it is important to know that everything on the resort must be paid for - tubes for the lazy river, mini golf, water slides, etc. - even for legacy timeshare owners (which I am).

Complementary services include use of the pools and lazy river, parking, and the gyms. As far as I know, that's about it.

Otherwise, service has always been poor to horrible. The sales people are the absolute worst, though. However, that could be because I and my family are not sales people and aren't used to being aggressively pressured into purchasing something. We are simple country folk who place a high value on honesty and truthfulness - neither of which are employed by the service or sales staff much, if at all.

In our most recent trip to the resort, we arrived at the resort around 9:30pm. After 9 hours of travel, it can be understood that we aren't really interested in what I would consider excessive small talk and sales pitches by the reception staff.

When my husband was just trying to get our parking pass and showed no interest in answering the numerous and incessant questioning, he was rewarded with sarcasm and rudeness.
I very well understand that this must be their job, and that they are required to do this and may even be disciplined if they do not, I still consider the whole thing to be very disrespectful and the wrong way to start off our vacation.

Otherwise, trying to get service at the eateries can be hit or miss. Sometimes we receive wonderful service, but most of the time it's rather slow, and occasionally even just wrong. I can understand that this being a cashless resort removes much of the incentive of providing attentive and timely service, but when you can get much better service with the same or better quality of food for a comparable price (even with the owner's discount we receive on the resort) it makes the convenience not really worth it.

However, with us returning every couple of years, it's clear we enjoy something about the resort. The pools and lazy river are enjoyable, and the location is very good for visiting the parks and going to both the Atlantic and the Gulf.

In general, the employees that we tend to encounter are either exceedingly fake (read: disingenuous - I know you don't really care how my travel here might have been or where I cam from or what I'm doing while vacationing here. You're asking so you can try to sell me something. I may be naive, but I'm not stupid.), rude, incompetent, or a mixture of the three.

This resort is not a place that I would recommend. Though some of the staff are friendly others are definitely not. All of the "extras" are extremely expensive. And you certainly don't want to agree to the time share presentation. We were held hostage for over 2 hours and literally could not leave until we went through 4 stages of sales pitches. I give it a 2 because if it's location otherwise this experience would be a 1.

Owner since 2000. Nice place, much to do, but expensive. Staff is matter of fact and very inflexible. Simply stated, check your facts, only believe what is in writing. Good accommodations. Everything other than room is extra.

Not happy. I'm sure there are some great properties. However, once HICV bought Silverleaf, the previous owners lost benefits that made them buy into Silverleaf in the first place. Why? To make room for outside sales. I have been a member since 98 and feel as though I'm in a Cinderella situation without the happy ending. I wish they would just take my Ambassador back. I'd be saving a ton of money.

Nice Resort - DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE HERE - We have stayed at this resort several times. The rooms are well maintained and the resort has a lot to do. The first few times we just reserved a room without using timeshare points. Then Holiday Inn bought the resort with my timeshare and converted my timeshare to points. I found that renting rooms at the resort without owning timeshare is a much lower cost than the total cost of the maintenance fees and membership fees of owning the timeshare. In addition, if you are late on your maintenance fees, they will add a $100 per month late fee until you pay. Only a few of the Holiday Inn Club resorts are worth staying at. They will offer a 90 minute timeshare presentation for some tickets to use the waterslide and putt putt golf at the resort. They will keep you are the presentation for at least 2 and a half hours.

The pool area includes a lady river with several connected lagoon style pools. There are restaurants and bars, an arcade, and a couple stores. Tons and tons of umbrella tables and chairs lounge chairs. My only complaint is that the beds are very firm and there is zero comfort associated with going to bed.

This place is great we got an upgrade from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom villa. It s like having a home away from home. Washer/dryer , dishwasher, full kitchen with supplies, WiFi, basic cable, shuttle service around the park, BBQ area, pools everywhere, rock climbing, activities for all ages, close to all sorts of stores within a few miles. The main bathroom has a sauna tub which is so great. Definitely coming back here.

It was nice, had issue with cleanliness in public restrooms. I also found it to be a shame that you pay alot of money for one week and not all of the rides and amenities are not included. The room was very nice only wish i would of had a laundry basket and maybe more than 2 rolls tp in each bathroom.
