A fantastic place to bring tourists to show off our city, or for a Friday night drink after work for the locals. The food is a little pricey but delicious - you're paying a premium for the views and location. Try the burger. I get it every time, it's a winner.

Took my suegrita here today. Bruschetta pizza ($18 eight slices), arancini ($14 four balls) and a couple of schmiddies of Opera Bar Pale Ale ($9 each) for a total of $50 may seem a little pricey for some but the beer and food were top notch and well suitable for an afternoon snack next to the most beautiful harbour in the world right beside the most photographed landmark in the world, the Sydney Opera House. The live bands are always very good. Time it right and hope they are there to enjoy while you wait for the sunset.

Apart from the stunning views and the great service the food is also incredible. Definitely get the sticky chicken! I've become super addicted to it lately. Sadly I don't live closer to come down and order it more often.

Stunning view from the bar!

Stunning view from the bar!
It seems to be always crowded there but still enjoyable to have some drink there.
Good drinks and good prices!
(We were waiting quite long for the cocktails)

Have been previously and it was a nice place to take particularly overseas friends. Disappointed with the recent experience in speaking with customer service about any potential availability to book a table in December - I appreciate and acknowledge the venue being in high demand, however the sassy and dismissive attitude of the receptionist was most disappointing. In a chaotic year, a little understanding that some of us weren't able to solidify plans earlier would have been appreciated, even if the answer was no.

Located in a fabulous position on the western promenade of the Sydney Opera House, with great views of the harbour bridge, circular quay and the rocks. They have both indoor and a outdoor (covered) dining/drinking areas.

The Opera Bar is not only a bar serving drinks and cocktails, but it is also a bistro serving as range of meal choices. I have attached a pic of the basic food menu.

The regular meal prices are on the high side but for those on a budget and young at heart, I can highly recommend the kid's meals which are $14 and are quite generous portions. Choices are margarita pizza, fish and chips, grilled chicken chips and salad, or spaghetti Bolognese. They are so good here that they even will gives you a pitcher of cold water and glasses at no extra cost (if your ask nicely)

The place is always busy and the staff is working very hard to meet the demand. Don't expect a long chat with the waiters or serving staff, they just don't have the time.

We were here for a birthday and we had the pleasure of meeting Jelle. He was absolutely fantastic and so friendly and welcoming. He made our birthday celebration very special by helping us with the candles and just being his lovely self throughout our time here. Our experience would not have been the same without him.

Great must see view. Nice ambience with frequent live music. Nearly always busy but only jam packed after work when sunny. Wine and beer selection is pretty ok but it's overpriced. As expected for a tourist trap, but they don't go too crazy, so locals come just as much as tourists.

June 2015 - Great view of the harbour. We had a group of 10 and was able to find a big table to accommodate us quite easily. The service was slow and our orders were wrong. Overall, not impressed.

I don't like bagging places but the view is why it's good, a burger which wasn't amazing and a pepsi was +$30 and it took forever and a day to arrive. My sister had a plain coffee which set her back $9

Awesome views, but pathetic service, no spirits like tequila after 10pm, if you order a cocktail you then get a number and they send you to a bay and wait with another bunch of people waiting to be served, waited 20 minutes. Never again

Used to love this place for their oysters. But they have really bad service. On the last night i visited them, i ordered a glass of sangria , and the waitress taking my order took my card and tapped it for me. As such, i couldnt see that it was actually $45+ and it was actually a jug of sangria. When the order came at the bar, i told the bartenders, but they basically brushed me off and told me too bad, i shouldve looked at the menu first.

So i went back to my seat. I would've just shared the jug, but i was having a drink alone. So i asked a waiter and he told me to find the manager back at the bar. I did, and she refunded me for the sangria after i explained to her i was trying to order a glass and i specified i wanted a glass. She very nonchalantly replied that i shouldve looked at the menu. As she was doing my refund, she was basically interrogating and scolding me for making a wrong order and for taking so long to rectify it. I told her i did ask her bar staff and waiters thats why it took a while for me to get to her. (10 mins) She then spoke over me and kept interrupting me, not letting me explain, while i didnt raise my voice and was trying to explain to her nicely. At the point i just wanted to leave, but she forced me to order another drink to offset off the refund. Extremely rude customer service. Tramples over those who portray the submissive young asian girl stereotype .

5 stars for a bar with one of the best views of the world. It can get quite noisy and hectic, but if you get there before 6 it is nice. Lots of tables to sit outside and enjoy the spectacular view.

Nothing can compare with the view and location of Opera Bar. I am a local to Sydney and always is breathtaking, prices aren't ridiculous for where you are. Good music and is open late, always recommend and would go anytime

Perfect place to enjoy a drink, beer or plate of food next to the most iconic image of Sydney, and one of the most visited touristic sites in Australia. The location is unbeatable, of course, so the prices are somewhat high and after a certain time is usually full (no reservations).

Absolute shocker of a place. 4 of us had 1 bottle of wine. When we went to order another we were told they weren't selling bottles (they were at the outside bar with limited selection) any more because there were "too many drunk people". Can staff/management not make a judgement call based on individual patrons? Totally ridiculous. We left!

Amazing place to enjoy evening with friends. You can sit inside, outside or by the water and enjoy the view. Yes, it is very hard to find empty table to sit, yes it is crowded. But that s how you understand where to find the best drinks and food in Sydney.

Your go-to bar in Sydney, when you have an overseas guest you like to impress. Busy, buzzing, with the best view in town. If people watching is your game, you'll never get bored! Suits in finance jobs, tourists, sassy ladies on a night out, you name it. You can even see the musicians and audience walking by after a gig in Sydney Opera House. Be patient, as there'll be queues. There's a "cash only" bar in the outside section for those in haste. Food and drinks are not as exciting as the ambiance of the place but they don't disappoint either.

Super impressed with the staff. Just witnessed a staff member (security? Management?) go up to a guy who had a few too many. Instead of being rude or aggressive, the guy brought him 2 waters and although I couldn t hear what he was saying, his body language and facial expressions were kind. This guy handled this situation well.

My most favourite Bar in Sydney - no other place can offer the same view. They've recently revamped the area so that there is more seating availble, especially for those that order food. There is a wide variety of champagne on the drinks list, as well as signature cocktails which are all yummy. There is always a mixed crowd, after work drinkers, as well as tourists, plus the odd child as the eating section is just next door. The bar food is fine, but like I said, you are here for the view and on certain days, the live music.

The place I like very much, the excellent location and the scenery make it unique charm. Wandering here for a cup of coffee during the day, and meeting friends for a toast in the evening are all very pleasant experiences. It must be reminded that you must pay attention to seagulls when dining in outdoor seats. They are unscrupulous robbers. The food on the plate will be attacked at any time. I have a painful experience and I am embarrassed...
