One of Australia's best spots to relax and enjoy. Great location, view and atmosphere.
Great outdoor seating and views..... double the price for a drink. If u order food u will be fighting the seagulls attacking your plate!
Amazing views and drinks. We tried the Whitley Neil quince spritz, tropic like it's hot so good. Can't wait to go back!
Great way to spend a lazy afternoon, few beers or a summer gin cocktail on the harbour. The drinks and food are on the expensive side, but look where you are.
SYDNEY HARBOUR,
BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD!
My partner took me to Sydney for a Friday night. We stopped had a drink at the Opera Bar. We had a Cheese platter to share, it was yummy. We sat and watch people and enjoy the view. Cannot wait to do it again.
The view, food, vibe and the music has always been great, no matter what time of the day you end up there. A must visit on ur trip to sydney
Great place for a drink outside, but the beers are tiny
Great atmosphere. Super busy saturday night but the place was so well run, orderly queue and enough staff so you were never waiting long for food and drinks :)
Great location, need more tables with water mist sprays for hot days
You can always find a spot for aperol spritz with a view of the harbor bridge and the water ... Simply unique for me
Best afternoon bar in on Sydney harbour! Hands down! If you only have a short time to visit Sydney it's a must! Live music, amazing/beautiful /AMAZING view! Do it!
Best place to hang out and watch the bridge + house!
View is fantastic, food is actually quite good and the drinks are somewhat expensive but worth it for the views Opera Bar has looking over Circular Quay and onto the Harbour Bridge.
Wheelchair accessible is also pretty damn good, with a central paved ramp leading down to the bar and accessible toilets within the vicinity of the bar
Good atmosphere became packed by 11.30 get in early to get a good view
A fantastic spot to have a drink and nibble if you are visiting Sydney and are near Circular Quay. The views here a amazing of Harbour Bridge and Opera House. There is a great selection of drinks and some nice bar food. However, with the amount of tourists visiting it is very busy and hard to find a table. The best part was the Seagull Patrol, which a man and his dog keeping all the seagulls away, which flock to this area. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but go down a few restaurants and the seagulls are stealing everyones food! Such an ingenious idea!
Great place to be, by the water, on a hot summer afternoon.
Good food friendly staff but very noisy inside and out.
Great cocktails.. aaand a really delicious prawn pizza... great service as well..
Amazing view. I recommend to come in night time when all lights are on. Looks very nice. Cool place to have a drink.
Excellent spot for a drink, beautiful atmosphere. Always nice music.
One of the best bars in Sydney with amazing harbour views and great range of cocktails and food menu. Friendly staff and has live music. A must go to when in Sydney. They also have me&u to order and payment with the tap of your phone and your order gets to your table without having waitstaff to come and get your order. Opera bar has some really good oysters too. Love it
Given the huge number of people there, I was prepared for the worst. I was pleasantly surprised with great food and only a 15min wait time. The staff were efficient and very nice, even warning us to watch out the brazen seagulls
Great place to hand out; good food. Mostly we enjoyed our time.
Great place for food and taking in the views. Beware it is very popular and very busy. Opera Bar fish and chips are highly recommended.
Best place to have drinks on a sunny day, great view plenty of food options
The newly refurbished Opera Bar is a great place for a drink, a bite to eat and a catch up with friends. It s hard to get a seat when the weather is good. The views are, without question, amazing (with the Opera House as your backdrop and the Sydney Harbour Bridge in your direct line of sight). I shared a really tasty cocktail called Summer Love (which comes in a single glass or in a jug to share or not you can have it all to yourself if you want!) which included sailor jerry spiced rum, coconut rum, vanilla, orange, pineapple juice, ginger beer YUM!!
Location, location, location!
You can't beat it for that. The view over the Harbour Bridge especially when it's dark is just amazing.
In terms of food and drinks, I'm not sure this is the place to be though. Sure they have the usual drinks, but the cocktails could do with improvement: quite badly mixed, either too strong, too sour or too sweet. Better to go with bottled drinks you know how they taste.
Food is ok, but again, because of the location rather expensive for what it is. Best just to share a bottle of wine and enjoy the view!
Note: can get very busy, especially on warm summer nights.
I personally wish to visit Sydney and see its beauty
Loved it. Food was great. View was spectacular. Prices were reasonable.
Really nice place to have a beer! Really expensive.
Great place to chill with a view.
Good friendly service and now with on line ordering to avoid the bar queue a great add!
Can be busy and hard to get a table at times, however definitely worth a visit and picture with bridge in background.
Also serve good food options. I have only tried pizza, chios and calamari however the Seafood platter looked amazing.
Nice selection of specialty drinks. Great view of Vivid (of course...it's under the opera house). Pricing not too bad, and service was great!
Trendy crowd, great atmosphere and location, right underneath the Opera House and with a perfect view across the harbour and at the Bridge. Good quality food and varied options. Prices are commensurate with the location.
You can't deny that the cocktails served at Opera Bar are impressive. Plus, it has an incredible ambiance with the stunning location, set right in the middle of Sydney's most iconic landmarks.
However, the customer service that was received on the night was disgusting. Upon ordering a round of drinks, the male staff at the counter served us in an awful and distasteful manner. His entire service consisted of him groaning, rolling his eyes and mumbling at us under his breath. His arrogant and condescending attitude had seriously tarnished the mood and tone of our night at Opera Bar from our arrival. It was only until he saw my furiousness that he decided to pathetically pick up his mood towards us. Might I say, he did a bloody poor job of doing it.
So, it is fair to say that my first experience at Opera Bar was an extremely poor one and I'd recommend to anyone to reconsider visiting Opera Bar if customer service is of high consideration.
great views and great service, a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
location is probably the only saving grace
far too few wait and bar staff on the busy friday and saturday nights - can be waiting in queues for >20mins to get a drink
food mediocre, drinks overpriced
Gorgeous place to grab a drink with your friends!! You can see both the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House from there. Enjoy the view!
Seafood platter is way overpriced and most items on it are raw which isn t stated on the menu , $150 not well spent , order something different or go elsewhere for seafood platter.....
Although sometimes too busy, this amazing location by Sydney harbour, with breathtaking, sweeping views of circular quay and the harbour bridge, is nestled under the Opera house.
Given it's prime position prices are reasonable, although you wouldn't call them cheap.
There is often live music and an even livlier atmosphere. In sumer it is packed out and often standing room only.
Food and location were lovely, but the high volume of the lunch time music made the overall experience quite unbearable. Avoid if you want a pleasant time.
Great Friday afternoon drinks and Sunday great food great atmosphere live music spectacular view sensational service
One of the bars from where you can get the best view of the Harbour bridge. Packed in the evenings because of their range of beers, wines and cocktails.
PS: Ensure you bring a nice camera when you visit this bar
Not far from the Circular Quay station and next to the iconic Opera House
really enjoyed the new system of ordering at your table. well done guys!
Love the cocktails menu, very nice, very significant. Fantastic view from here where you can see both Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Where else can you sit and enjoy a beer looking back towards Circular Quay and the Sydney skyline; and look forwards to the Sydney Harbour Bridge ? Due to the location this will always be busy. Also due to the location this will never be reasonably priced. Due to the location this will always be an exceptional place to enjoy one of the finest harbours in the world with fine friends, drinking fine drinks, eating fine food.
Superb location with very good food and beverage offering at very reasonable prices. As someone who frequents the Brisbane sister store the Riverbar I can say this is equally as good if not better. Would recommend.
Fresh floral decoration for the Rose festival creates a fun setting for the Rose festival. Congratulations to John and the team, the place to be for a balmy summer evening
Started with the kingfish ceviche which looked tasty but it was actually bland. Me and my partner adapted to this situation and squeezed the lemon and limes from our drinks to tickle our taste buds. Next we had the grilled Octopus which levelled up our lunch. It had a nice char and at the same time was really juicy and far from chewy. The bed of hummus the octopus was served in was top quality and generously served. The sauce the capsicum was cooked in was super tasty thus making the Octopus the star dish. Finally we had the GF prawns pizza. It was pleasantly surprising as it did look dry but was deceiving. The cheese was nice and salty, the prawns were tender and the green pesto was a good choice to compliment the pizza. One thing I would like to mention is the QR code was an easy process and the food came out with a mesh covers so it made it harder the seagulls to have a taste. I so wanted to give this 5/5 but I couldn't because the kingfish flavouring dishonoured my taste buds thats why it's only getting 4/5. And it was really sunny and there was minimal seating for 2 that provided shade. However if you wanted to go for drinks and have a cracker view in the best lat & long this would be 5/5.
What a place, what a view!!
Hard to grab a seat,... but well worth it!!!
Very busy on the weekend. Pricing is fairly high but reasonable. Services was great. Staff are friendly. Great atmosphere. Very very nice views.
Great location gets pretty busy though but the service is good
Here is the Sydney Opera House, a gathering place for tourists from all over the world, with a very beautiful view.
The beer and pizza that arrived late but rather enjoyed with the night view late in time were fantastic.
Food is excellent. Service is on the low side because we have to find seats ourselves and we have to queue up to order food and drinks, make payment, then food will be served. However, this is also an efficient system so no complaints. Since I'm not a local, I was nicely served by a guy who helped me look for seats! So it's still a pleasant experience afterall. The sweet potato chips didn't disappoint at all and moscato was awesome. Will definitely return again!
Great food and drinks menu. A little pricey bit the view is worth it especially if you can grab a seat up top. A little disappointed that we couldn't BUY a $14 fundraising chocolate to support the fireys because we bought a bunch of share plates instead of a main each.
To many drunks, broken glass watch where you sit. Its such a nice area to, what a let down.
If you like to get drunk and loud its all there.
Nice views of the Opera House and the Harbour bridge
