An ideal place to enjoy a good meal with family or friends. The place is full of charm and the food is very good. They are very friendly and it is a busy place and people come and go constantly. I will return without a doubt.

The food was average and the service was even worse. The staff offered no assistance to my partner and i as we spent the whole time fighting off the seagulls. I would understand if we where on the top deck but we were one row back from the bar. The final straw was when a bunch of seagulls flew up on to our table and stole food off our plates and the watiers just stood there and staired. It was obvious that we were distressed the whole time we were eating. Oh and for 2 meal and drinks it cost $79.

Great place to sit for a drink, BUT, the place is dirty, the security staff are super rude and you have to fight for your food with the seagulls. Don't try and walk from bar to bar, that's not allowed either.
There's many other bars with harbour views, give them a go.

I rate this place a 5 out of 5 for the following reasons;
Service; Service is self service, order at the bar for drinks or food or snacks, pay and collect your drinks and sit.

Vibe; the reason I gave this bar a 5 out of 5 has got to be due to the location, the view of the opera house, I came with a friend on a Saturday evening for a girls night out, and it really was nice to be out, amongst the crowd, and on a Saturday, there definitely is a crowd. There was a band playing so you could dance, sit (although, seating becomes a scarce commodity after 8pm, the place starts to pack up with all the nite life crowds, therefore get in early). Price of drinks is a little expensive, 10.00 for a glass of nz white wine, and 15.0 for a snack, is quite pricey, I would suggest going here for the views, the band and the vibe only - unless, its a special night out, then, bring your gold card and splurge.

Value for money; I was the sober driver, so it was a cheap and enjoyable night out for me , being down by the harbour, viewing the night life, watching everyone getting drunk, almost dancing, almost talking... but as I said, be prepared to pay for the view.
Cleanliness; good wait staff, keep the tables clear, place was clean and looked after, not bad for an outdoor bar.
Overall; Great place to go for free music on saturday night, and pricey drinks - and the view-the million dollar view.! Will go again (as the sober driver :))

Loved our Lunch at the Opera Bar. WOW, what a location. This is Australia. The feeling of sitting on the Harbour under the Opera house watching the Bridge with a tall cold Beer is just a top bucket list item to tick off. Just go, if only to have a couple of drinks. We had the calamari, margarita pizza and battered fish for our lunch. All the food was great, delicious. I don't mind the whole counter service thing. It works. Sit near the bar if you don't want to walk far :) Yes, the birds are a bit of a problem. We sat under an umbrella, closer to the underneath roofed area & bar, which helped. The staff are all over it, and they do give you a covering basket for your food. If you have a bird phobia, you should sit indoors.

Got an aperol spritz which was definitely one of the better ones I've had out (served with an olive though which was super weird) but should be for $18. Lovely area and of course amazing views, although a few more shade umbrellas wouldn't go astray in summer :)

Love this bar.

Love this bar.
I go here every time I fly back home to Oz after being away.
The View of the bridge and opera house is amazing.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better venue to have a drink on the harbour and admire Sydney's impressive and iconic landmarks. A sunny Sunday in spring is probably the best time of year to enjoy a beer or wine whilst watching the busy harbour. The wine and beer is priced fairly reasonably for the location and the share plates are cheap also. 5 stars.

Busy, popular place so definitely get there early for good spots - but when you do you get a lovely view of the harbour bridge, opera house, harbour perfect for sunset. Meals and drinks are ordered out the counter and brought to your table. Quite a lot of cocktail choices available - as well as regular bar content. Enjoyed the authentic rock oysters vibe by the harbour.

Good

Location Location Location here. surprisingly though, with that you would think its very expensive but its not, yeh you pay a dollar or 2 more than you would anywhere else...but its worth it. Usually quite busy, but never stops the service being great, always a short wait at the bar for one of the top quality beers on offer.

Amazing view, good food and drinks menu. we recently took some family to have lunch and really enjoyed it (again). The only comment negatively i would make it remove the "SALT & VINEGAR CALAMARI " as its horrible... I love Calamari but this wasn't good, chewy and tasted really bad... we did mention it to the waiter as we didn't eat it. Other that that its a must do place whist in the city with some visitors

It's nothing to write home about. You can get the view for free without having to purchase anything. Service and food are completely substandard. Steak was laughable and the mixologist was very rude. And it's pricey for what you get with not that many good food options

The venue is stunning! By the river, close to the Opera House, what else...? Atmosphere very young, music, tables and places to spend the night with friends and average prices. Approved!

Great views, never had the food, but that's about it. The service is the worst I've had in Sydney so far. The one female bartender was openly complaining and yelling at customers during their rush. In America. She'd be fired on the spot for such blatant disrespect.

You're paying for the view here, that's about it.

By the way, they only sell schooners

Great location! Atmosphere was chill also. The seagulls that tend to surround you if you're sitting outside might not be everyone's cup of tea, but still really amazing to just take in the harbour atmosphere.

Even though the service is ok, unfortunately the big platter (very expensive indeed!) is pretty mediocre. I have had better burgers and salads in other less expensive places. The vibe is great and as I said the service is ok, could be pretty hectic if you go with a big group during the weekend. The food could be better...
