Midsummer night's dream, grandiose production, strong ballet, stage design and lighting, as well as the musicians great. The house is very modern and yet it is from the 1960s. Great view from all places. Alexander Ekman's ballet was adorable!
Great theater with a great ensemble. Great acoustics.
Nice theater with nice staff. The pieces are to be rated subjectively.
During my visit a door was broken, so that after the break only with the help of the staff on his place came.
Nice opera house with surprisingly wide seats and good legroom. I was sitting in the 5th row and, despite the very wide orchestra pit, I could see the faces on the stage very well. Foyer is very spacious and nicely designed. Downer: there are lockers instead of wardrobes, which is actually a good idea - but when I arrived, none were free. Of course, too little ladies' toilets are planned, like almost everywhere, and a line is always formed. Would still come back anytime.
Very friendly and the advice of the customers great
The spectacle can count itself among the best of the republic.
I watched the Faust I ballet. As with other pieces, I was thrilled. I had listened to the introduction before I started. This is advisable due to the complex plot and was very helpful for me. I really liked the staging. Even if the music is not so common in the ear at first, it is very harmonious and well implemented. For me, the Theater Dortmund and especially the plays staged by Xing Peng Wang are an asset to the city of Dortmund
A great theater experience in the heart of Dortmund.
Have there looked at the sample of Madame Butterfly / heard. We liked it there very much.
Super sound, but unfortunately almost always the same program. Please try to add new pieces to the program and the old ones can then also pause for a year;) also modernize the pause / entrance area and develop a new concept that you can get a drink faster and maybe even a snack. But that's criticism at a high level
I saw the very nice ballet premiere "Visions" in this opera house. The house impresses with its 1960s postwar architecture, in which especially the foyer is remarkable.
It was a nice evening, with a very good musical and great singers
The Theater Dortmund is very innovative, entertaining and stimulating.
Premiere West Side Story. Perfectly implemented. Fantastic actors. Bravo.
We had to stay in the wind and weather for some time. It was not open before 14.00 clock.
Nice ambience, very friendly staff, lockers for cloakroom need 10 cent pieces, actors unique and powerful
The opera house is great, the staff friendly,
finding the place a disaster.
Why?
No signage in the theater!
Neither for the hall entrances nor for the paths, nor for the restoration!
It took me 15 minutes to find my place
Schade
Dress rehearsal: great show, great stage design, pleasant atmosphere
Nice time .... I thought very dangerous. No, take care
Thoughtful program development. Cozy theater atmosphere. Admission prices too high.
We have just been in "hair spray" ... Must see !!!! Terrific!
Nice theater and fantastic show, the theater was sold out, happy to return
Concert room with optimal acoustic properties, comfortable armchairs, good organization of cloakroom storage using lockers
Hairspray (musical) was great. Ambience 1a. The cloakroom is a particularly good solution. Lockers with a 10 cent deposit! No long queues at cloakrooms with horrendous fees.
Good and cheap parking options. The theater has charm.
I really enjoy going to the Dortmund Opera House.
Everything clean from A-Z
The parking spaces under the opera are sufficient
Frau Luna, The Nutcracker, The Magic Flute, CARMEN .... are just a few of many fantastic productions
The acoustics are great even when playing in the orchestra pit!
The opera singers are brilliant and excellent!
The orchestra and opera choir are great.
I would have wished that the Dortmund Opera would or could market their fantastic productions on Blu-ray / Internet . The quality is there.
Because....
The Berliner Philharmoniker bring their concerts also on CD / Blu-ray.
Then why not also Dortmund?
An excellent ensemble and a more than good staging and presentation: 5 points for that. 4 points deduction for the "framework":
1. No wardrobe! Instead lockable cupboards like in the indoor pool in the style of the 70s in orange - absolutely unreasonable !!!
2. A completely overcrowded minibar as a gastronomic institution - absolutely unreasonable !!!
3. An audience who goes to the theater 90% in cardigans and brown street kickers? All culture has been lost here. What a pity! Dortmund can only currywurst / fries - but not a cultivated visit to the theater.
4. Once and never again. I praise myself for Munich, Berlin or Hamburg ...
The play and the actors are great. Unfortunately, the music drowns out the vocals. A pity......
The piece I saw "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was terrific, but both the hall and the vestibules were incredibly bad air and much too warm. No draft was possible. If there was air conditioning, it didn't deserve the name. That left it the underground car park is a disaster when everything is full, over 20 minutes until we are outside.
Clear theater with comfortable seats with enough leg room. Instead of a wardrobe, there are lockable closets (for which you need 10 cents as a deposit).
The seat cushion concerts are great for children from 2 years old
Thank you for the great performance Opera Lohengrin - very successful!
The performance was great, the parking garage spacious and inexpensive, the signage in the opera house was a single catastrophe, it would have to be revised.
Experimenting, innovative theater. Very audiovisual. Great actors.
If you want to experience a special evening, the Dortmund Opera is always worth considering. Whether great opera, colorful lively operettas or musicals, everything is offered here. In order to get the best cards, early planning is recommended.
Building is very suitable for a theater. Nice noble premises, quiet sofa corners, cozy bar with ordinary prices. The hall is huge, but it runs well, so the size does not bother. There are enough free lockers available.
Very neat, I was in the operetta of! The flowers of Hawaii and had never had an experience as such. The spectacular scenery, the impeccable sound and a very pleasant atmosphere.
Hairspray! ! Great! ! Music imaginative, every song has something, always engaging and moving, emotional, great dialog joke, first-class performers, dancers and choreos, stage design and costumes would have liked better on Broadway.
See you again! !
We spent a very nice evening in the theater. The difficulty of reviewing a theater is that you have to decouple the play from the theater building. In this respect, the performance "TRUMP" was great and the building was the perfect space for it.
A really nice theater. The hall is modern and the stage looks at first glance not wide but is very deep. The stage design is always very creative. Likewise, the performers are no strangers and the screenings are classics to newest works. What fascinates me personally is the live music.
Ballet Gala ..
Great
Just great!!! Goose bumps!! We looked at Turandot from Puccini.
The great production of "Jekyll & Hyde" once again clearly exceeded my high expectations
Ballet was very nice. The premises are well maintained and clean. I can only recommend the courteous staff.
The Theater Dortmund is of extraordinary quality. Whenever I'm in Dortmund, I try to combine the evening with a theater visit.
Theater up close - a moving wonderful experience. The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov played in the studio of the playhouse. Definitely to be recommended!
A great place for inspiration. Dive into another world !!! That's just great ...
A pleasure of a very special kind, to experience the light-footedness of the dancers, the many different in classical and modern music selected, the acoustics was also excellent, I can only say, it was a great evening.
To all concerned my respect and thanks. Kind regards
I only took part in a small project for 2 days or more, it was great fun. But minus point in the theater itself. I am physically restricted and walk on crutches, there is no elevator.
The question is, what do people who are confined to wheelchairs do?
