The theater was good, seats as usual too tight. Unfortunately we parked in the Thiergalerie car park, but that closes at 8:00 p.m., it would be opened especially for us, the gentleman was very friendly. But the service cost 38 plus parking, the theater car park was occupied. A very expensive evening

The theater precedes its reputation, very beautiful building and also the interior very beautiful. Have already seen a few different pieces. The space is a bit narrow and not suitable for tall people. Otherwise you can not complain, you should watch at least a piece as a Dortmund.

It may not be the most beautiful theater in the area. The theater and opera house offer a varied program, which is also observed nationwide and can definitely play in the upper league! Musical, ballet, opera from classic and modern, in the acting also like experimental, there is something for every taste! You can look forward to the time after Corona!

The opera house has earned an excellent reputation and is known far beyond Dortmund. It has guests from all over the Ruhr area and the surrounding area. There are operas, musicals, ballet and an extensive children's program.

Great, were for the dress rehearsal of the ballet piece - Midsummer Night's Dream - by Alexander Ekman.
I'm not really a ballet fan, but this modern form was really thrilling.
In the first half I would have liked to dance with the beautiful festival. The second half was a lot darker / more dramatic and those who have looked too deep into the glass know what negative consequences too much alcohol can have. Kudos to the performers, they played very convincingly and conveyed the emotions without words.
Since the comparisons are missing, I can't say much about the house itself, I found it very nice, especially the division of the outside area with the bars, seating, etc.
But above all the stage itself with all the technology to lower or raise areas was first class, hat off.
I would never have watched a piece like this on TV, but live and up close it was just a great experience.
You should just go to the theater more often, it's worth it.

The theater as a location was as always okay. However, the performance "Land of Smiles" was only mediocre. If the main actor - Martin Piskorski - had not existed, there would be even fewer stars ...

Ensemble of opera and ballet is outstanding and the productions always a great mix of classic and modern. You can see everything here according to personal taste, prices are very moderate, only the legroom leaves much to be desired (for a star deduction). A visit to the restaurant in the basement is very worthwhile

A very nice opera. The staff is very friendly, the building looks very classy and tidy. Only the rows in the hall are very narrow, because you have two problems but to get past each other. For students there's the theater flatrate, there's nothing to complain about!

Magic Flute. Presentation was great, I really liked it.
The last time was at the Dortmund Opera 51 years ago. In terms of seating, nothing has changed. Still the same, very narrow row spacing. For people taller than 1.85 m. m. E. not suitable.

Everything is ok. Very good representation of the piece. Fiddler on the Roof.

However, the ventilation system was devastatingly bad. Especially in the 1st and 2nd floor and in the boxes the air was unbearably hot and stuffy while the ground floor was still ok.

It is not only the play that makes a visit to the theater special, but also the theater itself. You can pass that on from this theater with a clear conscience. It's always a great experience to come here.

Were in the West Side Story. Have seen the musical many times in different theaters. And that was the best of them all, with a top cast that was not only great at dancing, but also singing well. Above all, Toni and Maria let their voices shake the house and cast a spell over the audience. To make it short: a great evening

Dante for me as a ballet newbie! But after the absolutely incredible grand inferno from last year a must! I would never have thought that it grabs me !!! The life orchestra was great, but the music from the tape (last year) got me even more excited. I'm looking forward to next year.

An introduction to the topic of "sexualised violence" by Ms. Maschke demonstrates the importance of the various forms of violence.
It follows the opinion of a person concerned. In the course of the discussion it becomes clear: perpetrators lie. That is why it is so important to open the doors to those affected and to create shelters, so that conversations about events are not to be interrogated, but careful listening is in the foreground.

Update: We were at the Jekyll & Hyde launch today. Great set design and fascinating costumes. The performers were very good and very convincing vocally. The orchestra was very, very good.
I hope that Jekyll
& Hyde visited the house in Dortmund several times. Great view from above. A clean, tidy house. The offer is highly recommended. Easy parking directly "under" the city theater. The city theater is also easily accessible by public transport.

It is always worthwhile to visit the theater / opera. The productions sometimes take some getting used to, but the orchestra and the artists are terrific. Especially the upcoming performances of "Turandot" and "The Land of Smiles" promise to be a great experience again. Parking is available in the associated parking garage. Before the performance and at break, several bars with their friendly atmosphere invite you to drink a glass of sparkling wine (of course, there are other drinks as well).

The (apparently only) elevator of the parking gara...

The (apparently only) elevator of the parking garage was out of order!
It was impossible to push my mother, who unfortunately is in a wheelchair, on any path.
Thus, after I found no other exit, I had to drive the car out again, unload my mother in front of the parking garage, park the car back in the parking garage and had to pay 2 x 4 parking fee (apart from that we were late for the opera because of the whole Action)!!!
Unfortunately no one could find any tangible that could have helped us (even a 'car park guard' was not in his "parking house", could not really find anyone who could give me advice !!!
In addition, the 'unloading' was also associated with significant problems: despite a Park beibuchtun at the Parkhausausfahrt, formed a queue behind us, because everything was very tight and no one could drive past us. Why then the 'pseudo' parking dent ??? For bicycles?
The theater itself is very nice, but given the circumstances, I was and still are very annoying.
Incidentally, we were there 35 minutes before the entrance and delayed anyway + the double parking fee!

The theater still lives in 1960. No ticket scanners at the door, you have go to a special desk. No cards at the bar, only cash. In 2019??!! Incredible.

Building and opera hall are beautiful, but the seats have no legroom whatsoever.
