Although the hotel is well-located, it is dated and in need of a makeover. The rooms have a dirty feel and need new furnishings. Valet parking is nice, but at $46/night I felt gouged. Just because you can charge this much does not mean that you should. Aside from the location, I cannot recommend this hotel.

I checked in at about 4:30 p.m. When I returned from dinner at about 8 p.m. I followed two men down the hall who used a key to enter my room. I told them they were in my room. We all then went downstairs to the desk to sort things out. After about 20 minutes, the manager gave the men a different room, my co-worker's room. I told them that was my co-worker's room and so he gave me those keys and apologized. Scary situation.

Very nice hotel overall in a great part of downtown Indy. My only issue was the very noisy heater in the room that went on every few minutes. Otherwise, there is an onsite Starbucks, two bar areas, a decent restaurant and empty of lemon or cucumber water in the lobby.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS A ZERO STAR REVIEW I WOULD. This hotel has gone downhill just in a year my husband and I have stayed here. This hotel has always been our go to, while visiting Indy. Let me explain to you why we will never stay here again. We came with 2 other couples. One room being our queen deluxe (not sure what their definition of deluxe is, far from it) and the other being a room with 2 beds in it. After booking through the Omni, not a 3rd party, we requested for cotton or foam pillows in our room since we are highly allergic to feathers and just for the other room to be close. The employee on the phone said no problem we will put the request in, she made it clear that if you book through them, not Expedia, which was at the same price, they would allow the request. I asked what check in and check out hours as well. Travel day has come and we head down driving over 2 hours and hit top golf and k1 speedway! We finally arrive at the hotel 3 hours after the start time of check in, 5:54pm to be exact. My friend is at the front desk and stated that their room is not ready. So my husband and I tried to check in and the guy said our room was ready because it was a queen. The "manager" said that he didnt have a time of when the double bed room would be ready. I asked him what he can do considering at this point we had dinner reservation in about 45 mins. He said there was nothing he could do, he just kept saying they had 100 people leave and 100 people come in. I said so you didn't staff house keeping accordingly for the turn around needed to allow guest to check in at 3pm. He said no we did staff house keeping right. Please tell me how you planned for the amount of guest if there isnt a room available 3 hours after check in, and here is the kicker, he was sure to let us know that they weren't the only ones without a room and that he still couldn't give a time of when it would be ready. After going back and forth I asked for a room for them to atleast get ready in, he said he couldn't do that. I said how long does it take for you to turn a room around 30/45mins, he said 30 mins. I said so you mean to tell me that you wouldn't want to make this customer happy and give them an area to get ready in atleast? He said he wouldn't do it because house keeping would have to go back in. Being in customer service for 10+ years, I was mind blown he couldn't do anything. The next option was to comp a room. He chuckled and said no. His bosses information was asked for next. He gave the card and I tried to call, THE PHONE NUMBER WAS DISCONNECTED. That just pushed us over the edge! After more time went by the "manager" said here is the hotel number this is his name and you could call and ask for him or send an email. The room was finally available and the manager took some money off the room, about the same amount he would have "lost" if he just would have split the cost and gave them two single rooms. After everything was said and done the request to be on the same floor was not fulfilled, the request for correct pillows was not fulfilled and the whole room situation was just a headache. You dont even want to get me started on the room size, the bathroom size, the filthiness of the stained pillows, when I can go to a hotel who actually does renovations. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT ON SO MANY LEVELS.

My room was on the 13th floor, which is the CV(13th) floor. My room was $360 one night, with other items included such as valet parking (unlimited parking) at a slightly less expensive rate. I got the valet parking simply because I was not familiar with downtown Indiana Indianapolis. Besides parking is like $40 and that is not unlimited. My room had a Balcony over looking the city with a table and chairs. Great night view and romantic. However, the A/C unit did not work properly. I called it was still not fixed but I was very cool outside so with the balcony door open it was "bearable". In addition, the front desk staff is magnificent, the attendants are friendly and wonderful, and the valet staff was terrific. The reason for the 4 star review because of the A/C.

My wife and I stayed at the Omni Severin Hotel on Saturday of last weekend. After checking in, we arrived to a room that was exceptionally hot and smelled like smoke. When we called down to see if we could get into a room that wasn't 80 degrees, we were told the best they could do was send an engineer up. As it was 10pm at night after a day of travel, we were hardly in the mood to have someone in our room. Additionally, we ordered chicken fingers and a dessert from room service. The check came out to almost $40 and it was clear that the chicken tenders were from a frozen package. We were disappointed with the experience and will likely not be staying there in the future.

Pros: The Wine Thief Bar--excellent selection of bourbon and scotch. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable bar tender.

Downtown and near everything. A lot of easily accessible restaurants and shopping.

It's pretty.

Cons: Basically everything else.

I booked through the "name your price" option on Price Line so I got a decent deal, but that was all. After booking the hotel I called the 800-number to find out about my room and was told I was in a 2-double room. Asked if it could be switched to a king room and was told to contact the hotel directly for something like that. Called the hotel directly and was told that moving to a king was no problem and it was taken care of. Get to our room: 2-doubles. I contact the front desk to be told "it was put in as a request, not a room change," and they're booked full on king rooms. Explain what I was told, they don't even make any comp offers. Just "Sorry."

The room itself, while large, was pretty underwhelming. The layout was incredibly weird with a lot of wasted space. There was 6x10 area between the desk and beds that was just empty for no reason. Could have had a couch there, but it was just empty. Our windows gave us an incredible view of the roof of the mezzanine and front facade. On the upside, had we been so inclined we could have wandered around on that bit of roof because the windows tilted in. They couldn't be raised more than two inches, but they completely tilted in.

The bathroom was okay and offered the same amenities that you'll find at virtually every hotel. The only item of note would be the "throne," and that's only because it was what you would expect to find in your local McDonald's, not a 4-star hotel.

Parking at the hotel was expensive, and I was hit with an additional $5 a night because they had an "oversize" fee (I drive an extended cab pickup truck). I didn't think much of it because I know that getting a truck into a parking garage can be a PITA. They told us at drop off that on Sunday mornings they would need about 15 minutes of warning to get our vehicle because they are generally busy--no biggie. At the 20 minute mark I begin to get antsy because I have seen the valet I showed my ticket just wandering around. Then I look across the drop off area and see my truck parked among some of his brethren, not running, and obviously cold. My truck hadn't even been put in the parking garage. It had been left outside the entire time. They failed to mention that "oversize" meant "not going in the garage." After a few minutes of incredulous staring at the valet I finally walked back outside and asked the valet for my keys. He checked his hip, realized he didn't even have them and had to retrieve them. Didn't even offer to help us load.

Final Thoughts: If you want to get downtown on the cheap, use Priceline and roll the dice. If you're not scared of spending the cash, spend it at another hotel.

We enjoyed a snowy weekend at the Omni Severin in January. The bell staff was most impressive very friendly and helpful, especially since I was checking in for 4 people by myself (everyone else was at the convention center already). Proximity to the convention center, mall and restaurants was perfect, and the skywalks kept us out of the snow. Overall, the Omni brand was well represented. What the beds lacked in size and comfort, the building and staff made up for in experience.

I'm giving this a 5 star only because they charged me double tip at the restaurant, after being sent to many people I just gave up. I advise not putting items on your room but using your card in person.

Great Hotel, enjoyed the stay. Did notice in the Bathroom on the floor that there was someone hair on the floor and in the bath tub. Just something I do not like. The tolet was very small or low but I am 6'6. $44.00 for parking was somewhat high.

Trust your GPS. You will miss the road first time getting here. Staff is very friendly and prompt. Room is clean, but pool is 4ft deep all around and fairly small. The restaurant has small menu and is expensive but the food did taste good.

A little pricey in my opinion... almost 300 for 1 night. Yes, I understand your right down town but that doesnt matter to me. The two times we have gotten a room it was for a wedding so we slept there that's it! However the food is wonderful, nice friendly staff, comfortable king sized beds, very clean rooms as well! Would and have recommended several times!

Small rooms, very loud air conditioning system that turns off and on every 4 minutes. The light switch in the bathroom is 4 feet from the door. The toilet is like the ones you would see in a high school bathroom. No fan or light dinner switch in the bathroom. NBC on the t.v. didn't work. I've stayed at better Holiday inn express. Much better rooms there. Avoid this pit. Omni should be ashamed to call this an Omni.

The hotel itself is beautiful, though I m not sure the amenities are worth the price tag. Staff was very friendly. Was not told about valet only parking upon booking, so this was a surprise charge of almost $100 for a 2 night stay. Not even a coffee maker in the room. The aesthetics and staff were not worth the extra money, in my opinion.

Gorgeous historic hotel. Soon as we walked in we loved it. I really like the less modern look. Staff was extremely friendly and quick to help with whatever we needed. The view from our room was great. Taking the Skywalk gets you to the mall and other places like restaurants or bars. There's lots to see and do in the area. So many places within walking distance. Beautiful sites all over. We'd definitely stay again.

Scored a great last minute deal on Friday night when parents were in town to watch kids. I was excited to stay at the Omni. Despite buying a last minute Pre-paid deal we weren t stuck by elevator and actually had a corner room with some view.

This is an old historic hotel so be aware that rooms and bathrooms will be smaller. That doesn t bother me and I was expecting it. Unfortunately, the A/C in our room was practically non-existent and that pretty much ruined our experience. Clearly, the t-stats here are for show only and room temps are controlled centrally, as many hotels do these days. We are used to sleeping at 69 degrees and despite turning our t-stay down to 62, the room never cooled off and I would estimate was 74-76 degrees all night. If it wasn t for sheer exhaustion from having very young kids, we would not have slept a wink here.

Excellent hotel and great guest service. The hotel location is in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. You can walk indoors to the convention center, circle mall, and many restaurants and bars. An affordable parking is across the street within a walking distance which is unusual for downtown hotels. I really enjoyed my stay! I highly recommend this hotel if you find yourself visiting Indianapolis, or just want a couple days away from your everyday life.

The Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis is a beautiful place to stay when visiting this exciting city. The staff is top notch, always ready to lend a hand. Being centrally located, it makes it that much easier to eat, shop, and visit all the many historical places to be found. Can't wait to return!

Paid $250+ bucks for a room for a night and hands down, this was the worst best I ever slept in. My wife and I both agree that this bed was from Satan himself. When I told the employee at checkout, I got an "I'm sorry".

The Omni is an amazing hotel in the heart of Indianapolis! The hotel is connected to the mall and is conveniently surrounded by just about every fine dinning restaurants and just about every retail store Indianapolis has to offer. The hotel is regal! It has a wine bar and actually connected to it, there's also a starbucks attached to it. The rooms are great, beds are super comfortable! My only knock on this hotel is that the breakfast sucks!
