Discovered some faulty burnt transformers and replaced. Quick service and efficient

Omega have a great team completing diverse jobs. Stellar service was given by Mitch right from the beginning to the end. Overall Mitch made sure the process was smooth from first acquiring a quote, to queries, to account set up, payment plan, onsite tech visits, to install & connect. Personally I recommend Omega for their exceptional customer service!

I hope there will be less OMEGA victims after I share my experience. Read the summary if you do not have time, but I really encourage you to read the whole case and make sure you do not fall into a Omega trap like I did
summary of my case: 1. the Omega plumber is not able to identify where the problem is( or pretend to be)
2. the Omega plumber scams me of $1500+gst by misleading me to order a service
from a third party
3. lucky I met a good specialist from Aquasearch, who is willing to help me beyong his
responsibility otherwise I still do not know where the problem is after losing $1500 +gst

The whole case is as follow:

2 weeks ago, I notice there is strange noice at the North wall of my house, which sounds like a small water fall especially during night time. Then I recorded the noice with my mobile and call Omega.

The Omega plumber came for inspection. I showed him the video in my mobile. He check both outdoor and indoor but cannot find out where the problem is because there is no water marks and signs of leak.

Then he told me there might be a leak somewhere, which will cause damage to the timber structure; he will need to keep cutting the gyprock until he find the leak, which will cause me lots money and time.

He reckon I should use a third party (Aquasearch) to find the leak, which is very efficient but will cuase me $1600+gst ($1500+gst I actually paid). I asked him why it is so expensive. He told me the specialist will use a device valued at millions of dollars to detect the leak. $1500 is cheap since they would charge me $2200 if I order the service by myself. He ask me to make the full payment immediately so that he can book the service. I made a big mistake to trust him and paid.

The specialist from AQUASEARCH came in 3 days. I was so ecxited because I thought I was about to see the million-dollar device but was shocked when I saw the specialist connecting a gas tank to the water pipe and after 15 mins I was told there is no leak at all.
I was confused and showed the specialist the same vedio that I showed to the Omega plumber. He told me confidently this is not about water leaking and is caused by the water from the solar panel on the roof. At night time, when less water is being used, the water pressure is high and the valve on the solar panel release some water to balance the pressure, which will go from the down pipe and follow the stormwater management system ending up in the rain water tank.

I also ask him about the value of his device and was told it is about $15000.

$1650 for nothing but lies from OMEGA. I was really annoyed. I do not understand why an Omega plumber behaves so badly especially when everyone is having hard time because of COVID_19.

I thought that maybe I had a bad luck and met a bad one then I contacted an Omega manager, ask him to review my case and was told that his plumber was doing the right thing according to their company's policies.

Therefore, I have reached an conclusion that all the Omega plumbers are the same.
I have attached the invoice and payment receipt also a list of jobs Omega push me to do. How expensive they are!

Andrew replaced our hot water unit today and we were very pleased with him. He was nice, polite and professional. Did all the work with no fuss or noise and even went out to get a part for the system as the one that was delivered was incorrect.

Say they are coming for a free home check up, then try to tell you that 10 things need fixing (which don't need fixing), give you a quote for several thousand dollars and try to pressure you into making a decision there and then. When you don't they keep calling and harassing.

Mark was most helpful in explaining what he was doing and on inspection of my electrical and plumbing fittings, corrected some electrical faults. Also he installed a hard wired smoke alarm. I am grateful for his advice and service.

Aron and Evan came on time and were helpful and efficient with fixing our problem.

Clay has been great to have working on my Kitchen. He has been on time helpful and great workmanship. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Clay!

The Omega team were on time for both arrivals and departure. They cleaned up after themselves and were polite and helpful. The new lights look great.

Stefan did a great job replacing water pipes in the roof. He was polite, professional and excellent at communicating what was happening. I would highly recommend Stefan for your plumbing needs.

The technician is very friendly, helpful and did a good job.

Joe was here doing a switchboard upgrade and add a surge protector.

He arrived on time and was very professional, polite and courteous.

He explained all of the work he was doing in simple, easy to understand language and left no mess whatsoever.

More than happy to have Joe come back and do further electrical work in the future.

The guys were really helpful especially Josh and Adam E. Nothing was too hard but they did say the job went very smoothly no problems which they seldom experience. For that reason I felt if it was so easy why was it so expensive. The fact that each powerpoint cost the same when some were easy and some were hard makes you think why do they quote the same rate. I think the issue is in the pricing not the service. Service from Josh and Adam first rate, Nice guys.

All the 5 star reviews can't be real. When you pay a premium for services you expect a decent service. We have spent over $20k with these guys in the last year and we still can't get decent service. Firstly our salesperson didn't book the job properly and so we wasted a Monday waiting for work to be done. We were given a garbage excuse about the system not booking properly. We then had to organize another day for the work to be done. One of recommendations from the salesperson was to change the seals in the toilet as it was leaking. We couldn't see the so called leak before the work but the toilet was then like an open tap after the job was done. It has taken a week and rescheduling from the salesperson and we are still waiting for a plumber to come and fix it. I wonder what else they will charge us to get this leak fixed!!! Terrible service and useless salespeople. I felt stupid to even give 1 star but it was the minimum!!!

I contacted Omega for an urgent electrical matter early morning
I was assisted by a wonderful costumer service, Tracey who immediately placed a call and my matter was going to be resolved in a margin of 2 hrs from the call.

Gavin contacted me shortly informing me on the correct time of electrician to arrive (with intention of not to block my day and kept me in the loop).

Shortly after Gavin's call, Chris called me informing on his arrival time.
Chris was efficient, highly professional and friendly.

I will highly recommend on Omega for a wonderful efficient service and fair pricing

I tried Omega to fix a long standing intermittent issue with my air conditioning that another service company had on two consecutive years failed to identify, said there was nothing wrong and charged me a callout fee.

Although Omega didn't fix it completely on the first attempt, they came back without question, and at no charge, and found the issue on the second attempt. Their customer service is friendly and the follow-up calls are great. I won't be using anyone else in the future.

I have subscribed to their no call out fee service for electrical, plumbing and gas trade services but I have problems with the competence of their tradespeople.
One time, I was given a quote to clear the sewer because allegedly it was not connected to the grid and was full. I verified from Sydney Water and of course Omega was wrong!

At another time, I asked them to repair our 6 step lights. I was told, omega could not do it without their removal and a specialist equipment to check the wiring alone would cost about $ 1000.

Had it done by a local electrician who just replaced the transformer and spent only $ 20 for the parts.

Seems paying the subscription was a waste of money and my time. I wish I could get a refund!

It is doubly disappointing that in response to the above you have asked for the record of job order. You emailed to remind me of an annual free audit by way of response now but as I recall the last time I availed of that, the technician was selling me some accessory for our aircon which was under warranty after switching all the lights on as a way of audit. And yes, that was it! The audit!

May I reiterate my request for refund please? I will waive charges for my time you wasted.

Adam has been really helpful and efficient in resolving the water flushing issue. I thought we would need to make another appointment to get it sorted but he managed to complete the job in one go. Thank you!

Fast, efficient friendly service. The phone updates from both the office and the individual tradie leading up to the service are great. And they always let you know if there's any delay.

Called out to fix blocked drain because garage was flooding. Camera and snake could not fix problem. $1200 to excavate small hole to expose storm water pipe for further investigation.

Could not find pipe on first dig, so second Omega plumber sent out to relocate pipe and dig second hole. I was not charged extra for this, which was reasonable.

I then received quote of $15k + GST (or slightly less if I became a member) to fix the problem between the garage to the point of excavation, but with no guarantee that this would solve my original problem in the case of further issues between the excavation point and the Sydney Water connection.

I called another plumbing company for a second opinion, and the problem was found to be damaged pipes caused by swimming pool removal past the point of excavation. This diagnosis cost $220 and the pool removal company fixed the broken pipes with two guys in less than one day under warranty.

To summarise, the second plumber saved me from $15k + GST of unnessary work by Omega plumbing !

Punctual, polite, and really great work. Me and my wife are really happy with the service provided by both Sam and Omega

Booked a plumber to clear a stormwater drain and was quoted $249. His jet wasn't able to do it so upgraded to a bigger more powerful jet for $800. New jet operated by a different plumber who turned up next day as promised. Still unable to do it. Pipe went under a concrete slab so got quoted $1600 to remove small portion of slab (1m x 1m) Different plumber and workmen turned up next day. Cut slab, inspected pipes. No fix. Workmen left and said I'd get a call regarding what was possible to fix the issue. Quoted $17000 (yep, seventeen thousand dollars!!!!!!!!) to re-route the pipe. Workmen had left tools, a pile of cut concrete, tarpaulin and a two car garage floor covered in dirt and a film a couple of centimetres thick of silt and mud that had been washed out of the drain. I politely told the person (a different person again) that I wouldn't be going ahead with the $17000 fix. Tools didn't get collected for nearly two weeks. Concrete and garage were not cleaned up. I called them saying that my garage looked like an abandoned building site. No clean-up was forthcoming. I parked cars on the street and a week later and politely requested they return and clean-up the appalling mess that was my garage. No action. Two weeks later (cars still on the street) I got a phone call requesting I pay the $1600. I requested they return and clear up the mess before I settle the bill. Still no action after another 7 days. I got a phone call (from a different person again) saying that the matter would be referred to a debt collector unless I paid. This is when I told them that I was stunned Omega could leave a site in such a state. No legitimate plumbing service leaves tools (including concrete cutter) and rubble/mud as they did. I said that I would be happy to show my unusable garage to anyone to show that the job was not complete. I was told that their work des not include any site clean-up. Not removal of cut concrete or any other work mess created by their workmen. I had to spell it out - the bill would be paid when my garage was cleaned up. Next day a worker from Omega came and cleaned up the mess. He was openly appalled it could be left that way. Finally all clean-up after two hours. Too many people came to my house and left the next step of the job to someone else and none of them took responsibility. A really disappointing experience from a company that has a lack of service and was grabbing more and more money. Each time assuming they would be back again (hence them leaving tools on site as they did). I got the pipe repair done for $3500 by another plumber who was stunned by the $17000 quote. Unless you have bottomless pockets steer clear of Omega.
..(posted after Omega responded to my review) Thanks for responding to my review I have no desire to contact Omega my experience was so awful that I do not trust any lame excuse ,,, I know that some tradesman and trade companies are expensive and lacking in professionalism the best thing is to steer clear of them . there are many other plumbers that can be used.

Omega were competent, efficient, responsive and helpful; they did a really great job and have done so for us more than once before. You might get someone cheaper, but if you want it done right, use Omega. Sam in particular is excellent - to the point where we ask for him to be on each job. Omega generally, and Sam especially, have another competitive advantage, namely, they will not merely do as you ask, but will also make suggestions and recommendations as to how you can do something differently, better or more cost-effectively. We recommend them above any others we have used over the years.

Great service from Omega! Being serviced about 2 weeks ago by Josh for my clogged stormwater pipe.
Josh has very skilfully managed to get through my pipe's broken or kinked section! Beautiful job!
The blocked pipe got fully cleared up by Josh.
He also provided many useful tips on how to tackle my particular issue. Thx a lot mate!
Josh also communicated his arrival via a mobile phone call and SMS.
Was perfectly on time, excellent communication.
Been using Omega for years and always had the top service, but Josh has beaten it all;)

Will & Reece did a great job today replacing our hot water service. It was a tough job and they did it with good grace and humour. Broke a pipe but fixed it themselves without any input from me (in fact I didn't even know about it until they told me what they'd done). I would highly recommend them for being efficient, friendly, respectful and professional.

We had not used Omega before but were very pleased with the promptness and thoroughness of their work. Particularly on a Saturday. Professional, friendly and easy to deal with.

Fools gold. I thought by paying a premium price I was paying for premium service, that may be true except when there's a emergency fault that I can only guess payed more, that's what it felt like.

When I first booked them to visit I though they would tell me a price & if I agreed they would do the job then & there especially since I explained what I wanted instead they sent two (2) salesmen one for gas the other for electricity work. OK that's how they do it, I payed the deposits so OK we agreed to start next Saturday 7am.

All seemed great the tradesmen called to be there soon, arrived on time and the work started all good until they got an emergency fault for property on otherside of town, wait what about me despite the tradie trying to stay and finish the office said off you go but he will be back at 12 midday OK not so bad, but then that turned into 2pm then 5pm then 8pm then tomorrow. And to make matters worse I was left without lights on the bedrooms & bathroom.

Not a good experience for the first time.

They came back the next morning, and did a great job on the planned work Joe M, was great, through knowledgeable, and diligent (would recommend him)

However once again I'm left for a emergency so no time to find and fix my fault (they did try a quick fix) But in the end they left me without lights for someone else,

They didnt have enough staff shouldn't be my problem especially when I'm paying a premium

Prompt and efficient service. Main electrical board required upgrading and asbestos panel to be removed. Electrician arrived on time and provided good advice. He explained the process and provided a time estimate for the work to be completed. Then explained the working of the new system. Would recommend this company.

You mentioned it in the stickers that if I show or tell him about the stickers I can have$50. Discount. But he didn't take any notice what I said to him. Joe the Electrician. Working for Omega Home Services, came today to connect a new off peak electric hot water tank. Unfortunately it started raining as soon as he arrived, but remained cheerful during the connection, and worked away diligently to fix it up.

Today I did that job with $150

Romar did a great job with our sewer pipes this morning. Everything is unblocked and flowing again and he kept me informed of progress right through the day.

Excellent prompt service. Gave me a host of options for my electricity and plumbing with a breakdown of each option cost. Professional and well knowledgeable.

Service requested to rectify a fault in our ducted AC system. Technicians came on time on two separate attendance; 1st for diagnostics, job estimates and costing. 2nd day to implement agreed work and testing. AC now appear to be working properly. Thank you for the prompt response and for the highly professional services from Tory, Matt and crew.

Do not recommend. Membership pack states 24/7 service, called three nights in a row - nobody available - coincidentally on the weekends. Head office said $29 call out fee as we are a member. Said we would get a call back after they checked with technician on quote. Didn't get a call back during the weekend. Called them up again and technician then quoted $260 to pressure test the water pipe - what happened to $29 call out fee? Accepted $260 quote, technician got here and said made a mistake with pricing, charged $395 instead.

James from Omega came out to our property after the recent heavy rains to investigate the source of a roof leak that no one else was able to pinpoint. In a matter of minutes, James quickly identified the cause and proposed a solution. With his professionalism and acumen, he quickly earned our trust and from that point in, we were confident that we were in safe hands. He has gone above and beyond to help us resolve this problem and is always courteous and professional. I highly recommend him and the quality of his work.

Damien Ackland gave us good advice on the damage that high water pressure can do to household appliances connected to the water mains e.g. washing machine, dishwasher, taps and toilets.

I had a lovely young man named Joel who is also a very capable plumber - he replaced some pesky taps I had that were leaking water - Joel had a very friendly and professional manner so much so that I m going to allow him to quote us on a large plumbing job for a major renovation.

Complete rip off. 2 hours labour - $400 worth of parts and they quote just on $2,000 for the job. That works out at $800 per hour for a sparky. Give me a break. Luckily I told them where to go.

They will also try to sell you their "Gold" and "Silver" plans which seem like nothing more than a way of roping you into paying their ridiculous charges for as long as they can keep their claws in you.

Go elsewhere and try a more reputable business.

UPDATE: Quote from another (reputable) business for the same job - $600. $1,400 less than Omega.

And all you see from Omega on these reviews are the same old cut and paste "your feedback is important to us" comments. If the feedback is important them why do you keep trying to rip people off?

They were excellent, highly professional and very friendly. The electricians were super tolerant of our dog and other pets and did a great job. Will use again in the future!

Josh Hogg from Omega Plumbing assisted me about two weeks ago. Josh is a genuine, professional, experienced young man who is an asset to Omega. Josh went above and beyond for me and ensured that the job was completed properly in a timely manner. Josh had incredible communication with my husband and myself throughout the duration of the job which ensured us ease of mind. Josh was always on time, was polite (eg. always took his shoes off before coming inside) and presented himself with maturity and professionalism. I would not recommend anyone else to assist with plumbing complications- he is truly the best in the business.

From the moment I called Omega Home Services, Ryan was the first to come out, our water heater was leaking. Of course it has to be replaced. Being the long weekend, Ryan left his number in case water heater broke down further, and Ryan said Omega would put in a temporary water heater, well the heater broke down that same afternoon a temporary heater was installed.
The service was prompt and efficient. By Tuesday new water heater installed. They left the place clean , took away the old water heater. I highly recommend Omega Home Services.

Ben was very good , friendly and punctual . He gave us options for repair or replace our hot water system . We are very happy with his customer service as well as finance options . Look forward to using omega again

I would give zero if I could.

I had a water hammering noise from my bath tap.
They sent a project manager who quoted 3.5K to put 'something' on each tap that may resolve the issue but he wasn't sure.
I accepted the quote initially but then on the night of that day I read a little bit on the internet and figured our the hammering noise could be from a broken tap.
I replaced the noisy tap, $70 from Bunnings, and the problem was fix.
$70 guaranteed fix compared to potential fix for $3.5K.

Looks like these guys want to quote you as much as they can and hope that you will accept this insanity.

I paid them %10 of the $3.5K potential solution and I have yet to receive the refund for over a month now.

Will go to ombudsmen next week.

I would highly recommend to avoid doing any business with them.

Joe and Rick did a fantastic job at our commercial office. Thanks for the fantastic service and for going above and beyond really appreciate the effort.

Although there were some teething issues around the booking system (probably worth 4 stars), once the issue was resolved and our booking clarified, the call-out went well. There was a good chat on the phone prior to the electrician arriving and we were able to make some adjustments to the location to make it easier for him to work in.

When he arrived he was clear, polite and courteous. He was also creative and worked hard to solve the problem and get the job done.

Payment was simple with a clear bill.

Not long after he left he sent an sms with a creative idea for making a small mistake (of mine) into a feature. Very thoughtful.

I actually couldn t believe how quickly and professionally Omega put in my ducted reverse cycle air conditioning. I thought there must be a catch but there wasn t. Quoted, installed and operational in 5 days. A manufacturer issue was fixed promptly. Thanks to Armin who over saw the job, very polite, professional and competent. You should feel confident using Omega.
