Okura was always one of my favorite restaurants in the valley. This was my first experience in the new location. We made a reservation and only had to wait a few minutes before being shown to our table. One of the first things I noticed was a dog sitting underneath the table on a blanket, inside the restaurant. Yes, inside the restaurant...I did notice a "service dog" type vest on the small Maltese looking dog, very convincing. When we were seated, it did take about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I don't mind waiting a bit longer for food if I've got a glass of wine! We ordered off the all you can eat menu, and noticed the price had increased since we had last dined there. No problem, still a great deal. The food was great as usual, and the carpaccio, Marilyn Monroe roll, and Pan Seared Tuna I highly recommend. The new location is beautiful, very modern. However, I liked the old location because it was cozy, quiet, and a great date spot. The new location is very loud and open...quite the opposite. The ambiance is no longer ideal, but the food holds up.

Best place for sushi....in the universe. Great selection, quality is fantastic and the service is always courteous. We go once a month or so, and its just a fun way to catch up. The Hamachi is my absolute favorite, followed by the Baked Alaska. Or is it the Ribs...maybe the Rock Shrimp... Oh jeez, I'm making a reservation for tomorrow! Don't forget the Blueberry Lemon Martini - they're delicious, but a bit strong. So I order 2. ( :

Delicious, scrumptious, and service you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Okura moved across the parking lot to their beautiful new location on the corner of Washington and Hwy 111. Whoever designed the restaurant did an outstanding job and deserving of an award.

Dark, cozy & intimate are just a few words that come to mind to describe Okura. Great drinks - the bartenders definitely don't skimp on the sauce. Also, the food is excellent. There are lots of options to choose from choose from. Some traditional and some other interesting mashups. Always clean. Very courteous staff. And the best for last... The food tastes amazing. Be sure to try it on a date night with your special someone.

Outstanding food and service. Monkey brains, seared albacore, seaweed salad, special rolls, hamachi kama, green tea ice cream and more....and no monkey brains does not have actual monkey lol.....it is delicious appetizer. 10 of us celebrated my roommates birthday and our waitress Kelly was great!!!!

Outside seating only. The rice was hard. Sitting outside eating with flies, they need more fans Bc the Karen next to us stole our fan.
Order all at once because the food takes a while to come out. Just really miserable dining experience.

Have been a few times and must say, generally the food has been great....however when we found a hair in the tempura, not only did they not comp the meal, they charged us twice since we sent the hairy tempura back.
Another time, one of the meals was not coming to the table, after complaining that the poor girl was not getting her meal it finally came after the rest of the table was completely done.
When we complained about these 2 incidents the manger seemed annoyed with us. Instead of apologizing, he was rude and short, saying well things happen. Guess they need to understand good customer service but feel they don't have to since the food is pretty good. Disappointing

One of the best sushi restaurants in the Coachella valley. Super fresh ingredients and plenty of choices. The all you can eat for 40 is a tremendous value and there are a wide selection of rolls and nagiri choices available. Stop looking for another sushi restaurant and head over to Okura Robata Grill.

The hostess staff needs to be more friendly. Especially the lady who always wears converse shoes. She was so rude and prepotent with my daughter. Definitely the lady s who conform the hostess staff are under the Okura Robata level. The worst customer service.

When you drive up to this restaurant it is very unassuming in a strip mall sort of way. However, the moment you walk through the doors you realize it is a legitimate establishment. The sushi is delicious however it is a bit on the pricey side.

Loved my visit to Okura Robata Grill & Sushi Bar. This is a small ca usual sushi restaurant that only serves handrolls (and some sashimi). They have a simple menu with 7 or so handrolls to order a la carte or in a 3, 4, or 5 roll combo. The simplicity of the menu is reflected in the layout which consists solely of a sushi bar that wraps around in a rectangle. It is also extremely reasonable. I particularly enjoyed the yellowtail and salmon rolls. This place is great for a quick lunch or casual meal.

The place is so pricey and the sushi rolls and foods are all covered by the same sweet sauce. At least their offerings of fish is good. The way they present the monkfish liver and uni is not the best way though. The temperature for these fishes were too cold. I would recommend the rabata grill food though.

Has been a staple for years when visiting Indian Wells but the level of service has dropped since I was last here in their new location. Food is solid but service can definitely improve. Perhaps just an off night. Will go back for the food

4 stars for food, 2.5 stars for service, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and leave it as an overall 4 stars.

I'll start with the bad - the service here was awful. Our server showed very little interest in serving us, or taking our order, or wearing his mask over both his mouth AND nose. While we definitely made the choice to eat out and to interact with other humans during COVID, it was disappointing to see him, and many others here, wearing their masks as chin straps.

That aside, the food here was shockingly good for raw fish in the desert. My partner and I started with the soft shell crab appetizer, which came with two incredibly meaty crabs. My partner, who isn't a huge fan of crab and told me I'd be eating this one on my own, actually tried a piece, liked it, and ate his whole half. I could have used more sauce but I'd order this again.

We split the sashimi sampler and it was worth the money. There were three pieces of a few different types of fish and each one was a thick slice and incredibly fresh. While most of the fish types were your standard (ahi, salmon, yellowtail, etc) we were surprised to get scallop, which was a bit more interesting. The only thing I wish was there there were more types of fish, and more adventurous types of fish. I'd gladly have two pieces of each, instead of three, in favor of adding other types.

Lastly, we shared a roll that was spicy crab topped with seared albacore (I can't remember the name). The rolls were all HUGE, so while pricy, I'd say you're getting your bang for the buck. The spicy crab was fine, clearly imitation covered with spicy sauce, but the seared albacore on top was just phenomenal.

Overall, you never know what you're going to get when you test a new sushi place, but we were satisfied with the meal and felt it was worth what we paid.

Everything is fresh and delicious! Love the beautiful new location--we picked up take out, but they were seating people (masks on until you are seated) with reservations at separated tables. We look forward to "dining in" soon.

Very well organised and convenient restaurant. They provide generous portions and for affordable rates. We liked the menu a lot and the staff were super friendly and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this place.

There is no better sushi in the desert than Okura! Top quality and consistently excellent over the years!! They have many outstanding options in addition to sushi. My two favorite specialty rolls are the Marilyn Monroe and the Mango Tango. Check this place out! Okura never disappoints!!

The new location is elegant and pleasant. However, the food and beer selection lacks detail and basic taste. I went to Okura's new location today and was disappointed from the time I sat on our table until I stepped out of the place. First, I was greeted by friendly staff and assigned a menu with missing pages and kid's writing on it. I asked for a new menu and the beer menu. The hostess told us they had more beers available than before. Not true. It seems the new beers are not yet available. So, I didn't get a beer that I was promised by the hostess. Disappointing. Next, I ordered a soup, roll and tempura. The soup arrived lukewarm, tempura was soggy and the roll mushy. I would have gotten the same food from a grocery store vendor. So, I try to eat our food and there is a lack of basic spices like soy sauce and ginger on our table. Had to wait a few minutes to get them.

The new building is elegant, the food eatable but will try to get a reimbursement for my gift card and go to a smaller, quieter and fresher place to eat quality Sushi.

Be sure to ask for the all you can eat menu. It's a great deal, the fish is fresh and delicious and you can't go wrong (unless you eat too much). They don't advertise the all you can eat menu, but if you ask for it you wont be sorry!

We tried a number of items. Nothing special.
Mediocre quality at best.
We did the Spend $100 and get $20 Oku20
discount and it still didn t help.
The Dynamite Rock shrimp was Bay shrimp :(
The Hamachi had no flavor.
We did like their Miso soup.

We used to love Okura but just too low quality.
We had much better at The Venue and Musashi.

I don t like writing negative reviews but it just was really subpar. Maybe it was an off night due to Covid ? Maybe will try again once they reopen.
Okura up you game so we can return !

1 hour and 20 minutes for two rolls. It wasn t even that good. Plus the costumer service was worst! 3 women in the front and all just standing doing nothing. I really was disappointed. Idk if it was b/c we didn t look like the other costumers, but it was a bad experience.:( I hope that management gets better.

The food was good but the staff was harassing our group about how much money we spent each which was interesting because I'm sure our total bill was almost $200. I would give them another shot.

The fish quality is always great. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They offer all you can eat all year long. Sometimes when they're real busy is can take a bit for the sushi to come out but it's nothing to complain about. Overall this place is sooo so good.
