Amazing sushi fare, creative and delicious. This restaurant will scratch that sushi itch you get while visiting the desert. I liked the fresh and rice-less, Hawaiian roll, crisp squid, scallop and squid nigiri, sashimi salad, oysters and more!!

This is hands down the best Sushi I have ever had! Our server Kelly was so helpful in explaining what some of the dishes were and so friendly too! Great cocktail menu which is not usually the case at a sushi restaurant. The jalapeno bomb and the edamame apps were so good. The beef kabobs were so flavorful and tender. We had 6 different rolls, all were amazing!
I had to wait over an hour for my order! Placed the order over the phone, the person on the phone told me it would be 40min waiting time (and it was fine since it was Thursday evening). When I got to the restaurant in 40 min to pick up the order, I was told that it would take at least 10 more min, and after the 10 more min I was asked to wait additional 10 more minutes because I ordered too many (7!!!) rolls. After waiting 20 min at the front counter, I was told 5 more min or an option to get my order not in full!! paying $140 for 7 rolls I would expect proper estimate so your customer don't need to wait 40 min + 25 min at the front desk while your stuff ignores completely ignores the customers who are standing write in front of them
Sushi was amazing. It blew my mind out of the water. The food combined with the service makes for an excellent example of what a good restaurant should be. I highly recommend the all-you-can eat sushi. If you can eat at least 3 rolls then is well worth the price since each roll is about $10-$15. 10/10 Would eat here again.
Wow. Don t go in there looking casual, or the staff will put others ahead of you in their priority list. The filet minot sticks were delicious but if I m going to spend $17 on a plate, I would hope it fills me up more than a small appetizer. I had the spicy tuna and the fish is definitely fresh. I hope that the prices go down a bit once s these desperate times get better because right now it s SO expensive for what you get.. you don t even have a dining experience. I m sad because I ve been waiting for a good sushi place to open up in the desert, but I m not rich enough to eat at place that has a $34 dish that I could make at home for a third of the price.
Not the best experience with service or food. Had a 7 pm reservation and was seated in the bar. The bartender was busy so the service was slow. He wasn t very knowledgeable about the menu. The sushi was served too warm and did not have a lot of flavor. The skewers should be on the appetizer menu. The portions are too small, seriously! For $18 per order of chicken skewers, rice should come with the entree and maybe some grilled veggies would be nice! It was literally a snack! We left with 2 big football players unsatisfied and went to Carl s Jr. for food and then for ice cream. Over priced and over rated, sorry.
Okura rocks the all you can eat venue. Not just sushi and rolls you can order a sashimi salad, and other yummy items. The only reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars is because Los Angeles has 5 star sushi. But Okura's all you can eat menu is one of the best i have seen and the fish is definitely above average...it is my sushi place of choice when i come to the desert area.
Very clean and convenient spot. They offer large portions and for economical prices. We loved the meals a lot and the waiters were super welcoming and chatty. Recommended.
Okura is NOT practicing Social Distancing for there To Go orders. The wait for your order is well beyond the time they tell you. We waited two hours for our on-line order that was supposed to be ready in one hour. Their lobby and outside space is full of people waiting for their orders. Oh and only one sushi chef working. Not well planned out. NOT SAFE!!!
We had a great in this place. We loved the fantastic vibes and the food. The staff were very welcoming. I am content we ultimately decided to visit this spot.
Loved my steak and shrimp, cooked at table. Wife did not like the blackened cod it was in a broth that made it soggy, not palatable to her. Great service.
This place was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! Great rolls, fresh fish and really great service. If I lived here, this would be my "go to." Next time I'm in town, definitely coming back. Really, really good!
Sushi is just ok. Nothing to get excited about. Service is TERRIBLE. There are better sushi options around here. These folks don t know how to run a restaurant. The owner manager is really incapable of running the place.
I recently had the the most amazing dinner at Okura in La Quinta! To begin, the venue itself is elegant, and reflects the Japanese culture in its design, combining elements from nature: fire, wind, water earth and void.
The full bar includes all your favorite spirits, along with sake (of course), and some amazing handcrafted martinis. The Geisha Girl was a favorite!
Our first course was a yellowtail carpaccio, and OMG, it was perfect. The quality of the fish here is far and above any I have had in the desert. (Sidenote: Pokehana has joined the Okura family, offering poke bowls with the same quality fish!) We were transported!
Our 2nd course was a tempura soft-shelled crab. The batter was unbelievably light and crispy. The crab was bright and fresh. I ate the entire crab in 2 minutes flat!!
3rd course was a filet mignon skewer, and the flavor!! Wow!! The Asian spices, and the high heat preparation bring out all the best on this simple appetizer. The dipping sauce was light, and not sweet or cloying. The filet soooooo tender!
4th course was a salmon skin handroll, it was crispy, light, and the salty crunch of roe enhanced the texture and flavor of this amazing roll.
Dessert was a mini chocolate souffle served with ice cream. For all you chocolate fans: this homemade dessert was melt in your mouth delicious!!!
I will be back to Okura, and often! Whether it be a business meeting, or a date, this is the perfect venue!!!
Okura is one of the best restaurants in the Coachella Valley. The food is so flavorful and every dish well thought out. The service is attentive and impeccable. I can't recommend Okura enough - definitely one of my favorite spots for a casual dinner, to impress out-of-town guests, and everything in between.
