Called to see if they had the ramen soup that happy sushi in Palm Springs does, the lady very rudely stated No! This is a Japanese restaurant! We don't serve that !
Wednesday's all you can eat is the best. Staff is very helpful if you are not sure about what to order.
Happy Hour is very reasonably priced! Drinks have a good amount of alcohol and food is DELICIOUS. High quality! Great service!
True Sushi quality seafood, truly excellent. Skip the run of the mill strip mall joints! Not inexpensive but very, very good value.
Service not so great ,,,,I had to ask for soy sauce,,, lemon for my water 3times ,,,,best thing I ate was uni 2 pcs,,menu read a lot less of what I got charged ,,,20.00 dlls for 2 pcs , far more than what I have ever paid but it was delish ,,, the price should be updated or waiter should tell you ,,,
Simply elegant decor, immaculate throughout. The very best green mussels I've ever had, all delivered with smooth efficacy, courtesy, and respect. This will be my #1 sushi spot heretoforth
Tried the new location yesterday for HH. Very nice renovations. Were seated in the Buddha room...Told it was the first time the room was used, due to the high winds outside causing the patio to be closed. Had a very nice waiter. However, maybe because the room had not been used previously, there was no soy sauce on the tables. Oddly, someone else brought in an entire tray of soy sauce, and left it in the corner of the room - had to get it ourselves.
The room is nice, but as people started sitting, the volume in the room got louder and louder, to the point, we could not hear each other speak, and ended up nearly shouting to communicate - unfortunately, that is precisely what everyone else in the room had to do as well, so it became almost deafening. Food was good, except for the Gyoza, which was massively over-salted, to the point, that part of the meal stayed with us throughout the rest of the night.
As we were leaving, we noted that the bar area was also insanely loud, as was the main seating area. This is a beautiful restaurant, that failed to consider putting in some noise-cancelling features.
Would like to go back, as we had frequented the old location across the way numerous times in the past, but just too loud, and can't go through that when trying to have a pleasant conversation.
fish is always fresh. taste amazing. love the creativity. a little pricier then most sushis in the area.
Great Quality Sushi, some unique and delicious items on the menu. Fantastic Service.
Wow. Grandma was taking about it, so we went. She had the black cod and loved it, in fact she was still raving about it to her friends a few days later. I as well enjoyed it. Mom and I shared Cucumber salad , carpaccio, yakatori, and some sashimi along with some hot sake of course. High grade tuna an yellow tail was melting in my mouth. My server was attentive and caring, delivery was like ninja service(for lack of a better description) while with the house being completely packed opening night. Music kept the ambulance lively and the decor was a home run. Quite amazing turn from the cantina to Japanese. We will be back for years to come. Thank you all for a wonderful memorable evening with Ma and Grandma.

This used to be a really nice place to go but since they've moved locations the ownership has gone down hill. Was there recently and could hear the owner yelling at the kitchen staff about cold food but you could tell the food was hot but had been sitting there long enough to get cold. Anyone in the food service business knows it's not the kitchen's fault if the expeditors arent sending the food out. Poorly owned. The owner should step back and let the managers do their jobs if they cant handle the pressure.
Best food, great service!
Great fresh fish. Rolls are huge and have great flavor. You get what you paid for. Also have fresh wasabi. Mango roll was delicious. Also can get real crab in substitution for imitation crab. Naked roll was also delicious.
Exceptional place to have food when in a hurry. Their service is speedy, prices are reasonable, good ambience. I highly recommend this spot.
The new venue is beautiful but the staff are now cold and unfriendly to the point of being rude, especially the hostesses. Too bad, it used to be a great place and the food is probably still good.
Always the best sushi. The all you can eat is worth it. Take advantage of all the appetizers that come with the all you can eat menu. You don't see that many appetizers in a all you can eat menu. If you go during dinner time expect your server to be rushed because it gets really busy. But there always friendly.
Wow! Is all I can say. Their service, taste, speed, ambiance, and cleanliness is 100/100. We had the Pear Salad, Seaweed Salad, Tiger Roll, Crunch Roll, Miso Sea Bass, Chilean Sea Bass, Prime Rib Eye, and Hanger Steak. Every single dish was plated beautifully and tasted AMAZING. The salads were fresh as can be, the steaks were perfectly cooked along with the fish! Our only regret was not saving room for dessert! Waiter was on his game and the food runner was quick to grab us extra ginger or remove finished dishes from our table.
My all time favorite sushi restaurant. I have lived in Palm Springs area for 27 years. Not only is this my favorite sushi resturant but it's one of my all time favorite resturants, period. Okura is my go to for any occasion or no occasion at all. Its busy, like anywhere, you may wait. The all you can eat is my favorite. I know its exspensive, but its worth every penny. I mean do you really want discount raw fish anyways? The fish is extremely fresh and high quality, you really get what you pay for. The cuts are clean and the presentation is beautiful. All the carpaccio are a must have as well as tons of amazing appetizers. Rolls are phenomenal. The resturant is clean and I always have good or decent service. One night, what seemed to be the owner, came to our table and asked if we needed any help ordering. We didnt think we did but she recommended things we wouldn't have ordered or even asked about and explained other things on the menu. Some of the things she recommended turned out to be our favorite and we get them every time now. She was so kind and helpful we are glad she came by and we listened to her recommendations. Love this place!!! I'm drooling writing this review. It's that good.
Great Sushi Chefs, warm ambiance all around with stellar staff team ! Oh , ya ! The food ....well all I had was sushi which was what I came for ....and well worth it !!! Would you believe, you wouldn't have done what I had , sat at a Sushi bar counter just down the street from where I live and just felt at home!
Very good / authentic Japanese fare. The portions seemed small at first, but turned out just right as I was plenty satisfied with nothing left on the plate. Don't expect a lot of take home leftovers. Very well arranged plating presentations as well.
Best Asian food in the Coachella valley especially the sushi/sashimi. Owned by a woman from Laguna Beach where her first restaurant of the same name is. She is an outstanding restauranteur who really knows how to source fish, the most important first step in the process. The service, presentation and room are all terrific.
Ordered the Curry Scallops and Chicken Yakisoba. The curry Scallops wrapped in bacon were very good, however my yakisoba was served with Udon noodles! Yakisoba is one of my favorite dishes. When I asked the waiter to confirm with kitchen staff, I was told the noodles were correct. Not so. Yakisoba noodles are much thinner and Udon noodles are served in a broth. I returned my dish and ordered a spicy sushi role instead. I was very disappointed.
Great food and service every time I go, one of my favorites place to eat.
The pricing here is really good for the quality of the sushi, easily a 5 star restaurant!
When we saw Ali Larter standing out front waiting to be seated we suspected it was going to be good. Even though it is hidden in a shopping center between two chiropractor offices, that s correct two different chiropractor offices on More
Absolutely Amazing from the Sparkling Plum Sake through the Miso soup, Best Tempura Ever it was definitely a Great Meal!!!!
Horrible customer service. Staff are apparently too lazy to accept take out orders during the dinner rush, unlike any competent restaurant in the Coachella Valley, choosing to halt orders at 4:30 pm despite opening at 4pm. All for mediocre Sushi and dry Robata. You pay for ambience at this place, not service nor quality. If you can't accept kitchen orders then you need better staff who want to actually service the community. Stay away.
Maybe the best sushi. Second round of short ribs just a tad dry of perfection. Otherwise awesome.
Great sushi, Fresh fish, great selection, overall great place
Great food. Definitely order your favorite roll but get the Firecracker and Beef Carpachio first! You won't be disappointed!
Not great, no idea why this place has a 4.6. In NYC it would be a 3.0, nothing special about it at all, doesn't seem like they are using very high quality of fish.
Love this place!! Great atmosphere and love the menu items!!
The management was definitely lacking but the owners being there made up for that. Our server was young but she did a really great job. Even if the service was bad though, I would go back fir the sashimi. I lived at the beach for years and didn't eat fish as fresh. Very impressive.
Amazingly fresh sushi. The sashimi platter was to die for. Shizo leaf and the hottest wasabi in town makes a true believer for authenticity. Go here tonight. The baked fish my wife had was also incredible. Can't say enough. ..
Best place to have a beautiful well served meal with friends or family. Food is excellent and service is great!
Unprofessional place. They could not accommodate 3 adults and 2 kids even though I called them in advance.
Waited a long time for a delivery order. Staff was friendly though
Rudest service I have ever experienced. All you can eat sushi restrictions are ridiculous
One of my favorite places for quality Japanese food. Great hospitality. Really nothing but good experiences here.
I'm from Vancouver where the sushi is amazing and I'd have to say Okura is the best in the desert
The hostesses are unfriendly and unprofessional and the waiter was not friendly either. Our food was mediocre at best. We ordered the all you can eat for 4 people but they would only give us one order sheet and one pencil to use. They take their time bringing your food and IT IS NOT that good! Not satisfied at all with taste of food or service. Will not be going back!
EXCELLENT happy hour prices on food and drinks! Great, fresh fish.Wonderful atmosphere in bar area.Love this place!
I don't know how this compares to other sushi in La Quinta. But I can safely say that if you know anything about sushi, this is not a place to be. Staff were pleasant, as was the atmosphere. But you will not find the good fatty-style fish you'd expect for the price point. I can honestly say it's worth a 2-3 hour drive west to not have hard, poorly prepared sushi. The cuts were off, the sushi was dense, the presentation was poor, and the staff were nice but incompetent. I hope you have a better experience than I did.
Pretty good sushi place. They have an all-you-can-eat deal for $39 and it s worth it if you re with a big group because you can try so much more. The drinks are well poured and the wait staff is nice and helpful.
Rezo wasn t ready, the hostess were helpful but weren t nice(gave my gf attitude for a $8.00 take out tip). We instead did takeout and it took almost an hour. Just to get home and have soggy tempura and un tasty poor ingredients 17.00 rolls(I say poor Bc the sauces made my stomach feel ill, I won t eat the left overs today). I wasn t impressed at all. Bar staff was very friendly. Over all it was basically over priced sushi.
I would have rated it one star lower but I'm going to revisit Okura once more. Only this time I'm going to rate the quality of the sushi.

Great location for delicious japanese food. super tasty. the service here is better than most. bring your hunger - portions are filling. i can see why they have so many reviews.
Always great food ,our server Angie was perfect as always the only thing was the we ordered all you can eat and the food was coming to quickly but other than that okura always excellent?
Great service. Quality food at a great price. I love going for their All You Can Eat. I always have a great experience
My servers name was Jose... he was amazing... he let us know that it might be a wait for our food due to staffing issues but we didn't mind since we work in the industry... He checked on us every 5-10 minutes.... Food was worth the wait.... Definitely recommend going and if you have to wait trust me it's worth it...
The new location is elegant and pleasant. However, the food and beer selection lacks detail and basic taste. I went to Okura's new location today and was disappointed from the time I sat on our table until I stepped out of the place. First, I was greeted by friendly staff and assigned a menu with missing pages and kid's writing on it. I asked for a new menu and the beer menu. The hostess told us they had more beers available than before. Not true. It seems the new beers are not yet available. So, I didn't get a beer that I was promised by the hostess. Disappointing. Next, I ordered a soup, roll and tempura. The soup arrived lukewarm, tempura was soggy and the roll mushy. I would have gotten the same food from a grocery store vendor. So, I try to eat our food and there is a lack of basic spices like soy sauce and ginger on our table. Had to wait a few minutes to get them.
The new building is elegant, the food eatable but will try to get a reimbursement for my gift card and go to a smaller, quieter and fresher place to eat quality Sushi.
Proposed here. And they had the best set up and plan! Also the food is amazing. :)
