A bit of a scene but staff was friendly and accommodating and sushi and apps were solid and nicely presented. It's not Nobu, but I would happily return for more and felt the price was justified. Wine list was short and cheap, but we were happy with our selection. Cocktails are on the fruity side but very prettily done. Worth a visit.

Went to Happy Hour and was extremely disappointed. The cocktails were average at best. The lemon drop barely had any lemon in it (I watched the bartender make it). The sushi was fair too. Maybe I'm missing something or it was the Happy Hour menu based on other more positive reviews. The new location is beautiful. I wish my experience was.

I was calling today to ask if I need to make a reservation and I was informed by the lady that answering to the phone that I don't need to do any reservation. and I can walk in there is available tables I was informed the lady that I'm on my way, and I have a baby with me, she was telling me right when I walk in like 7 minutes after that there is no place.

I definitely recommend this restaurant to make sure that this girl get fired and not wait for tomorrow even.

Food was decent with lower expectations out in the desert. Sea bass was surprisingly good. Service was ok. They would not let us have a regular table because they said all tables were reserved. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. When we left around 5:45, 6ish there was only one table of two people in the regular dining area. We sat in the bar area which was fine.

I will start off by saying we eat here A LOT. The food is absolutely delicious which is why we keep coming back! Fresh tasting sushi!! But if you're looking for great service or reasonable times for your order to come out, it is not the place for you..lol They have a really high employee turn over rate! Everytime we have gone, there are new hostesses and or servers! We have had absolutely HORRIBLE service to the point where tipping wasn't even an option because of how bad the service was and how long we had to wait on our food (an hour and a half for 4 rolls, server "forgot" to put in our order of oysters then blamed the kitchen so we never got them even when we reminded him of it..) but we've also had a great server who we had the privilege of tipping generously because he memorized our order because he got to know us and we ususlly order the same rolls so we never needed a thing because he was on top of it, (he was the server that worked there the longest, Brian I believe) and the food was out at a reasonable time (within 20 min).

Great food and our 1st time in the larger building. Bit disorganized with getting to the table and with our waiter but the food makes up for it.
One big disappointment, ordering a virgin apple/dill cocktail and being charged $14.

Me and my husband eat out very very often, it's always nice to be greeted with smiling faces and happy attitudes. The hostess here was very sullen and did not smile once and acted like she was being put out by any questions we asked her. We had reservations for the sushi bar, she indicated to us that we would have to sit in the bar area not at the sushi bar, when she left to seat another party (who was equally as unhappy as us!) we sat ourselves at the sushi bar. The hostess never came to give us menus or ask if our seats were okay and after 10 minutes of being completely ignored and realizing that nobody at the bar had food we realized that this was not the sushi place for us. I believe the staff is what sets the energy for the restaurant and the staff at this restaurant looked pretty miserable so we got up and left. In addition to all this the prices are extremely over-inflated for what they charge for one glass of wine you could buy a whole bottle of Kim Crawford... we'll stick to our regular sushi places that actually look like they're happy to see us!

Very busy this Friday night. The server forgot to put out place settings. We were unable to split the check more than once, but found a solution. The portions are decent and the price is comparable to other sushi places in the Valley. I got the tiger roll. I wanted more but still felt satisfied.

We ordered takeout and everything was outstanding! Great sushi specialty rolls, miso souo, cucumber salad, and seaweed salad. They are very popular, so give them 15 minutes extra for takeout from what they say. Worth the wait.

First time having dinner in the new location. This was during Covid so they had patio seating with water misters and fans to keep you cool. Sushi is on the pricier side but the quality/presentation is there to back it up. Overall fantastic experience.

Love this place! When we moved to La Quinta after coming from the coasts (my wife is from NYC and I m from Santa Monica), we worried we wouldn t be able to find really fresh, well prepared sushi/sashimi. Okura s has been our deliverance. The menu is enormous with something for everyone, including non-fish eaters! The rolls are diverse and delivered like works of art. The happy hour menu is popular with the locals, so much so that during high season, there ll be people waiting at the door at 4:30pm. The All You Can Eat course is for people with enormous appetites and a willingness to gamble, because, as I read the fine print, if you don t eat every bit of any nigiri you order, including rice, you ll be charged on top of the $39.95 base charge. Everyone at the table has to order the AYCE, and no leftovers can go home with you. Too many rules for me to order, but I m sure there are those that can profitably indulge! Everything I ve eaten there has been fresh and delicious. The servers are friendly, but can be very busy during the dinner rush. A little patience and mindfully enjoying what s in front of you will help everyone. Be prepared to spend some money, as sushi/sashimi prepared at this level doesn t come cheap!

It wasn't that great. I thought it would be better. Fish was supposed to be cut thin and it was to chunky for me. My shrimp roll was so sweet I couldn't hardly eat it. Sorry but I have to tell the truth.

I love the interior of this restraunt

I love the interior of this restraunt
Not only do they offer sushi and sashimi. But they offer a relatively full Japanese menu. Sadly no blu fin. I realize its a resource issue especially with this COVID crisis. Seriosly thos with a menu this diverse. I almost didn't care. Great place. The presentation of the food was fantastic as well. Beautiful flowers and leaves. Even an orange dandelion. Very pretty.

Went for drinks and sushi. Had mango seared tuna and asparagus wrapped in bacon. It was phenomenal! Had Beef Ishuyaki and it was amazing! We also got the all you can eat sushi. I don't even eat sushi normally, but it was so good! We finished with green tea ice cream. The pricing was pretty fair for what we ate. Drinks and saki were great. The place was crowded but not overly, and for good reason. Definitely going back!

Okura HAD been our favorite restaurant to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, or just date night . I brought guests there numerous times. The food was always fresh, abundant and delicious. Last night, not so much. New menus reflected higher prices...that s OK....but the quality was gone. Sushi rolls half their previous size, tempura that was over-cooked, etc. We couldn t even find the shrimp, they were so small. I ll go again, in case this was an off night. But if this becomes their modus operandi, I will find another Japanese restaurant as my go to choice.

This appears to be a family owned business. I can see how hard they work to make sure the business is successful. It is as busy as a Night Club definitely a popular spot on a Friday. The food was delicious and Jade, the owner, I think was kind. She came to ask me how my meal was. Showing each customer matters. The only reason I didn t give 5 star is my waiter, Jose, didn t do a good job. When he came to take my order I was trying to ask him questions, he was impatient and asked, Well do you want to just order a drink first? An attempted to leave. I thought, Well I guess they are busy. Then he waited on the couple next to me they chatted, laughed, he patiently answered all their questions, and told them he would check on their order. I only received my son s food because I flagged down my neighbors waitress, she was kind enough to bring his food. Mine wasn t ready yet. Jose brought me my food about 10 minutes later. Ask me how I was doing ONCE. Then I flagged him down to get the check. I am sure because I am Black I was treated differently. The old tipping prejudice. So I did a little more than he thought $3, one for each time he came to my table in the hr and 1/2 time period I was there.

WOW, just WOW. Food and service was amazing! Ordered the herb chicken, along with the fried rice, and I was in heaven! I didn't know a chicken dish could taste this amazing. Highly recommend this place. The staff were also very nice even though we came somewhat close to closing time.

Best AYCE money can buy. Everything is very fresh. The taste is impeccable. The short ribs fall off the bone and are flaky. The miso soup is so flavorful and definitely not made from a packet. They make their sauces in house and the new location is gorgeous. Always friendly staff and excellent service. Definitely my favorite sushi place this part of California.

Okura is a fantastic restaurant. We had the garlic edamane which were amazing. The rolls were great too. The rainbow roll was savory, the caterpillar roll was perfectly sweet, and the volcano roll was the perfect amount of spicy. Darnell was an excellent server always prompt and anticipating our needs. Was an incredible experience and would definitely come back.
