Would have liked to have seen a quality multi breed horse show like we used to see. It continues to dwindle, is the plan to eliminate horses? Then another commercial building on a slab of blacktop. What's the state of Ohio and the fair board thinking of when they think of a real State Fair? Remember animals were all part of the fair and people really would like to see that.
Fun walking around the Chinese Lights, very festive. Good for kids
Come here every year for the spring home and garden show.
They lied about seating of the Chris Young concert!! Will never return
Great place to visit, just off the highway with easy access. Pick a day when it is sunny to visit as the parking to your car may require additional time
My wife, kids and I go every year. Good fun, GREAT food, just don't use the ATM, unless you like extra fees.
4th grade field trip. Lots to see! Lots of reading. A scavenger hunt would be a fun thing for the kids to get them involved.
Neat place to visit with the family if you love history.
Need to provide shuttle from parking to scooter rental. Rental people took me out to my car. Great customer service.
The Ohio State Fair can be a little daunting just by it's sheer size alone. But they do offer shuttles to & from the parking areas & the state troopers & fair staffers help navigate the area. The fair also offers online coupons to help make a visit more affordable. But be ready to walk. A lot. The place is huge! There is also an amazing area tucked in the back behind the rides sponsored by & run by the ODNR. And when a giant statue of Smokey the Bear talks to the kids by name they love it. There is a ton of nature based things to learn & do & even a fishing pond where you can pay to fish. Definitely a must see/do but try to go on the themed days to help with the cost of entry & weekdays, early in the day are best to avoid the crowds & wait times for anything from rides to food.
Great exhibit building with nice staff and shuttle service as well as a large selection of concessions with alcohol
I have been going to the Ohio State Fair every year since I was 5 years old. I am now 21, that is 16 years and it just never seems to get old or boring. Every year they continue to amaze me and I'm proud to call this my state fair. See lots of people from all over and eat lots of good food. Can't wait for next year already.
Be careful when you pay to park here...we recently went to the circus & paid the guy at the parking window for our car & our family's car- who were driving right behind us & he must have pocketed the extra $5, because he went ahead & charged them to park as well. We told the employees at the door, but they said that they aren't affiliated with the parking company. The circus itself was fun, high prices as expected, but overall it was decent.
Very nice and clean facility easy to get to off the highway.
Love the state fair, but it's a lot of walking, and only some buildings really feel air conditioned. Good tram service from parking and inside the fairgrounds.
Great experience and great people! The exhibits are awesome for both kids and adults.
This is a great place for events, really top notch!
We went for the freakshow expo... Crowded but very fun!
Hard to get in and out of using GPS due 17th Ave being closed
Seemed like such little space, trash almost everywhere you look, but the rides were pretty fun.
We love the fair! The made in Ohio building has the best food! The farm animals are always a highlight.
Parking is always a nightmare - finding a way to your entrance, inadequate signage, ugh. Should be better for all of the great events at this location.
It was great! My only complaint is there needs to be more handicap parking!!!
I had a great time, but one thing was bothering me. Why is the soccer stadium on this site yellow and black but the thousands of fans I saw were in orange and blue?
No alcohol. Some people thought this was important to mention.
Went for the village tour. It was ok. Lots of dressed characters from European storybooks. I expected more diversity. Overall, was not worth the price and many activities ended early afternoon
Confusing layout (especially with regards to parking and where to go). Old infrastructure. Overpriced food options.
Always fun . Best to go always in morning before crowds.
Jeff Dunham was awesome. The seating was way too cramped.
Had my 2017 Winter Commencement for Columbus State Community College here!! So it will always have a found place in my heart. Huge venue! Lots of seating, easy to find, plenty of parking!
The Half Price Book Sale Was Awesome. This Is Our Third Year Going.I Am An Avid Reader And I Am So Glad Paper Books Are Still Available
I had the greatest time this year. I got to pass out awards for the Dog Achievement Program as a representative of the Ohio Township Association. What an enjoyable day!!!!
This place is an excellent spot for the State Fair. Easy access from the highway, lots of parking, shuttles to the gates, and plenty of security here. The State Fair lives here and we look forward to our yearly trip here. It's always a little different each year, but also almost the same. Worth the trip for the seasoned fairgoer and the first-timer. Food, animals, entertainment, and lots of other vendors and displays. You can even buy your tickets online before arriving. Check it out for sure!
Went there for graduation ceremony. The graduates and staff were perfect. The parents were horrible. The cert had to be stopped 4 times because of parental rudeness.
The Chinese performance was good. And nice Dragon lights
I now know why they call it the dirty butt show! You have to watch where you sit because everything is dirty. A shower never felt so good when I got home.
Not sure what I was expecting. Typical Fair venue. Nothing exciting nothing really new. Not likely to return.
The Fair facilities are always nice and the C-state graduation was amazing. Good PA system.
Had a problem me and my grandson went to the gun show I did register for a gun the person they're never got back with me never heard from him and did not know how to get ahold of them so it was their loss
Complete mess to get to with all that crazy traffic. But all in all its decent. During the fair there's an ohio lottery booth. That's badass
Parking was a challenge, but the fair was great! Lots of food and activities!
Not sure why this place only takes cash for parking, but it's extremely annoying. On top of that the intersection near this place was not planned well. If you plan on making a trip here for an event, be sure to PLAN AHEAD and get there early or you're in for a wait unlike any other.
Went and checked out the lantern festival such a wonderful display!!! %
