Ohio Expo Center & State Fair Reviews

It is a state fair, so you should know what to expect. Lots of overpriced fried food, crowds, and some animals. Bring your own water bottle and refill it at any of the numerous water fountains, so you don't get dehydrated or go broke from paying $5 for a drink.

I come here for the state fair, or to vote. As far as the fair, it's not as enjoyable as it used to be. It's not horrible or anything, but I guess over the years, I've grown weary of crowds and overpriced food and drink. I don't ride the rides aside from the skyglide and the helicopter, which was fun. One year, though, I did ride a few rides and liked most of them. However, they were short, and having to buy tickets was kind of pricey. Maybe I should've gotten the wristband. Anyway, despite that, I'm sure I'll stop by next year and walk around, even if I visit only one time.

Lots of different foods and family fun. Worth going to, every year.

Had a blast. Good cheap fun for the whole family. Fair food should have its own category on the FDA's daily suggestions.

Had fun looking at exhibits. Some of the exhibits were educational for myself and the kids!!

This is a horse person's heaven! Put it on your bucket list for next year.

Don't ride on the rides. They are Dangerously Arcaiac!
Too Expensive. Food Prices are Ridiculously high.

Very fun and cool, really enjoyed the state fair and amenities.

Attended Fine Arts reception: generally a nice compendium of Ohio's talent but some items never fail to make me question the jurors' aesthetics/evaluative criteria, esp. in the Professional category. Would prefer to see personal limit to 3 items max (accepted, can enter unlimited) as means to increase variety.

I attended the vintage toy expo. This was my first time going there and i wasn't sure what to expect. Well there were lots of star wars toys, hot wheels and GI Joe stuff. It was cool too see lots of toys that had when I was kid. The prices seemed to be about right and the vendors were friendly and open. Overall I would recommend the expo to collectors and just people wanting to take a trip down memory lane.

We went there for The Dragon Lights. We was so impressed with the exhibit.

Easy to park as its beside Celeste building, rough to get around the humans crowded around the doors at the graduation. Ushers would have been useful.
Building was large and air conditioned, basic, not fancy. I suppose it served the purpose.

Was very disappointed in the pet expo it wasn't nearly as cool as i thought it was going to be

Chinese Lantern display: Beautiful from a distance but a little shabby and worn up close. No worries, the pics were great. Also, watch what you pay. Some in our party were overcharged because the cashier said senior and military discounts were only good on Thursday. NOT true. The difference was refunded only after discussing it with the manager.

Seemed like a good venue with the exception of the parking lot which was a disaster.

The State Fair is huge and the food is what you'd expect. A little spendy but there are some nice finds, as a Minnesotan I was disappointed there were no cheese curds.

Coffee Fest put on by Columbus Underground... Everything from roasters to blenders to coffee shops like Third Way Cafe and Coffee Crafters.

Went to see bad company and foghat. Great concert.

Extensive grounds with all you need available for a fully rounded event...

Ohio State Fair exhibits. Great Art by Kids. Cake decorating was truely unbelievable. The theme was something to do with Wizard of Oz. Quilts. The 14 yr old chalk artist outside was very talented. Check it out next year.

1st time at the Ohio state fair but it will never Match the Iowa state fair.

Went to pet expo. More like a home improvement show. Disappointed that you had to pay for parking and 10.00 to get in per person to see windows and bathrooms and grass improvements

When you're participating in a show , to be forced to pay parking every day is ridiculous. The cost of being here plus the cost of food makes this show difficult for 4H kids.
We were told there would be help to unload and that wasn't available. Just don't offer something that important and not follow thru. We arrived at 10 a.m.

Need more signs but great location. Parking was 5.00 dollars. Cash only

A very fun place to Bering your family overall it was a great time(cost) cheep and rides 25 unlimited and 1 for each ticket so I would get the 25 one

Had an awesome time at the Ohio State Fair! Tons of great food and decent restroom facilities, (no portable toilets). Surprisingly there were lots of shopping booths here that resembled a flea market. We really enjoyed the Natural Resources Park and the shows that they out on there! Go check this place out!

Can't beat the ticket price but when you get kicked out without notice that they'll allow reentry due to a storm, it's a bit of a pain.

A comfortable, versatile venue on the Ohio State Fairgrounds. I've been to many events here from freakshows to book fairs to horse events, and the restrooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly.

I was very disappointed in the parking situation! I paid to park and then there was literally NO direction after that! I couldn't find a place to park and was almost late for my daughter showing an animal. It was 45 min and the "general" parking was definitely not specified!

Concert was great. Cheap Trick and Styx were awesome. Seating on the floor was too tight. No room between rows. Seats are too close. A tragic situation in the making.

Wonderful place to visit for all ages. Take the bucket from one end of the fair to the other and then walk back as you explore. I can't wait for the 2019 Ohio State Fair.

Attended the Quarter Horse Congress event great event for Columbus enjoyed it immensely

Fair itself was great. Problem is with kiddie rides, I understand the height thing but not allowing a parent to ride with a little one that wants to ride isn't fair. Therefore there's nothing for the little ones.

We attended both the Home and Garden Show and Oktoberfest last weekend. Home show was pretty much the same as it is everytime. Not much new offered. It was rainy and cold so not a big turnout for Oktoberfest. There wasn't any German polka music so it wasn't quite what we had experienced previous years.

Great place to visit and spend time with loved ones. Great place to have an event

Great 2019 Fair Marshall's French Waffles the best worth the wait in line. Dad n boy comic adventure street performance the best bring them back!

Parking and lines were badly managed at the Chinese Lantern Festival.

Really nice place to attend a fishing expo. More than plenty enough room for everyone and everything displayed!

Spectacular time as always. Ice cream flavor of the year was a bit weird (orange moon) but the rest of the food was fantastic. Friendly vendors too.

Paid one 5:$ then 100 ft later. 15.00 for parking???

Fair is so expensive but we did have a good time.

We go every year for the Quarter horse Congress. Love it!!

Good hard to find with Google maps. Not right building. Daughter had fun.

Attended a rabbit show here, great facilities, just a bit hard to navigate but worth the effort
