I had played here 6 years and the course was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. So i came back this year excited to play it again. The fairways were either muddy or patchy at various spots throughout. The bunkers had little or no sand in them. The greens were in great shape. Hope they can get back in shape.

Tried to play here last week. Plenty of open tee times from 230-4pm. I walked in at 3 and was told I d have to wait until after 4pm because leagues were starting. That s fine, but don t list you have available tee times, block them off or start the league at 4 like it s supposed to. Won t come back, plenty of other better courses in the valley to play.

If i could give zero stars I would. Okay so I arrive 20 minutes before my tee time and as I am putting and chipping around I see my friend is getting ready to go to the first tee box. I saw that they only had three at the time so I go and ask the pro shop if I can join them. They said no so I didn t mind but when I was up to tee off the three guys I was paired with wanted their buddy who had a later tee time join them. I was not happy about it but the Marshall (young kid with clip board) said I can go off as a single. I went off as a single and then I get approached by another Marshall on hole 2. He tells me I m not allowed to be a single but I told him that I was told by the other Marshall it was fine. I asked for a refund. I get to the pro shop and as I m getting my refund I told the head pro shop guy that I was told I couldn t join my friend but you made an exception for other people. Then I told him that I was told it was alright to go out at as a single. He went on to say no one would ever tell you to go as a single and I had my girlfriend with me as we told him that was not true. He tried to make it sound like we were lying about it and he had an I don t give a F*** attitude and continued to say that they would never say that. This place is always so disorganized, rude, and so unprofessional.

One of the best and greenest courses we played. Staff was great. Lots of holes with water. We left a rocky dried out course to play Ocotillo again. Really good value and replay rate. Never saw a boat on the water the whole 2 days we played there? Guess it was too hot, upper 90s.

Course in rough shape. Disappointing. Too much soggy ground, mud in places. Bird droppings are thick . Grass clippings all over the greens. This property is getting worse. Stick to weddings and corporate scrambles or maintain the golf course. Too bad , it is a beautiful setting. Golfers need to repair divots, greens are all pitted out. One last thing , littered tee boxes that are all chewed up.

I've been in S. Chandler for 20+ years and have played well over 300-rounds at this course. Ocotillo has always been one of my FAVORITES - not the most challenging, but ultra convenientt for a Chandler resident and always in GREAT shape. Troon did a great job (as always) managing the overall club, but the course could always be counted on as REALLY GOOD. Since this management take over (Phil's company) the course has consistently gone DOWN HILL - to currently being at its absolute lowest point in its history. The course is basically in TERRIBLE shape. It is so disappointing to see the course like this; the fairways are essentially GONE. The course kind of 'looks' green, but it really does not matter where you hit your t-shot, you will not have a good lie - the grass is DEAD - -literally crispy and hard pan in the MAJORITY of the fairways. The t-boxes... again, so said to see Ocotillo in this shape - they are bad, like never before. Uneven for one, but torn up and basically destroyed on many. Scalping turf from a t-box (#5 on Gold) has NEVER happened - but its the case now. Greens... not TERRIBLE, but certainly not "Ocotillo greens'. To see large parts of greens DEAD, hard pan, and just unattended.... sad! If the fairways and t- boxes are any indication of what is to come - I expect the greens to be wasted away in no-time. Bunkers... really? How much is SAND??? How do you NOT have ANY sand in the bunkers - for months?!!? Just bad.... the staff should go to The Legacy for a lesson in how a course should be kept and managed. I have to assume there was a HUGE turn-over in key personnel with the management change. Most of the long-time personnel (course, pro-shop, restaurants / bar - all gone -- I'm sure because they were making 'too much money' and this new management is eager to show much more 'profit' can be taken. NEWSFLASH -- you will lose ALL OF YOUR CLIENTEL and eventually lose the course. Whoever the Superintendent / Greens keeper are - they need to be FIRED, seriously. Putting mats on driving range....? Really? Does Phil like to practice off mats? There are city courses that Make Ocotillo look bad right now. Phil (or delegate) -- TAKE ACTION, PLEASE! Ocotillo Golf Course is a mainstay for Chandler residents, its going down the tubes at an ALARMING RATE.

Great Course!

Great Course!
Had a group come into town for a golf trip and this was our favorite course by far. We played Ocatillo and Raven on Saturday and there is no comparison. Next year when the group comes back we will be playing Ocatillo again without a doubt!
Very well maintained. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff.

Ever since Mickelson has bought this course it has gone downhill. Mud and patches throughout the golf course. Greens are slow and in bad shape. Its clear that the course is all about making money and not taking care of the customer. You now have to pay for your range balls and staff is beyond rude in the pro shop. Its a shame because it used to be such a nice place to play and eat. Go to a Troon course so you will enjoy your experience.

Really fun round, have to play a lot of different shots off the tee it s not just a bomb a driver course. Over all in great shape a few greens has some dead/over watered spots on the edges. The course played extremely soft so it was gettable!

Great wedding venue. The staff was very attentive. Plenty of up to date options for decor. Large banquet area with still intimate feel. Beautiful areas to take pictures with bridal party. Excellent parking for guests. Good menu and food options that were very tasty?

The course is a bit of a mud pit at the moment. Grass is dying in large parts of the fairways. Makes for a dirt or mud shot in a few of the landing areas. A few of the Gold course greens are as much brown as they are green. Of course many of the bunkers are concrete bunkers..poorly maintained. A shame because thus course has potential to be a jewel.

Played late July, greens were in good shape, but the rest of the course was looking pretty rough. The tee boxes were being re-done, irrigation was recently complete so fairways were a bit rough too. I'm hoping since Lefty and his investment team took over that the facilities will remain as good as Troon kept it. Greens are already better, so my hopes is that the remainder of the course will follow.
