Ochoa Hair Salon and Day Spa Review

Ochoa Salon is the best! I have been going to Kara at Ochoa for decades.

T.J. has always been there for me. The establishment is following the protocols outlined in covid phase 2 : Temps, masks, no waiting area, etc.

Feel bad but after paying $70 for a Mani/pedi I felt over charged for very basic service. I expected a little luxury or something. It was basically taking off polish, min clean up and repainted. Staff was friendly, just expected more for the price (soak, oils, something).

The salon i usually go to was closed and I was desperate for a haircut. I heard about Ochoa from a friend, came in as a walk-in, and was shocked to find my haircut ended up being $50 for a TRIM plus a tip. Everyone was friendly but I have never been charged that much for a drastically different haircut, nevermind just a trim. You cannot even tell my hair was cut. Needless to say I will not be back.

Disclaimer: I never trust hair salons. I tend to take matters into my own hands rather than trust yet another person who says they know what I am asking for. But that aside It was time I for a much needed life change and Kelly was just the person I needed in my life. Not only was she super talented but she really took the time to hear what I was looking for and put it into the best haircut I ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere was super comfortable and the staff very kind. I highly recommend you go check out Kelly i will be going there from now on.

Avis never disappoints! I always get compliments about color/cut/balayage. When you need an artist, I highly recommend Avis. Ochoa's protocol in regards to COVID is second-to-none.

Never again! Had a massage awhile back and staff decided it would be a good idea to vacuum right outside the massage door, banging into the door several times. Were they really that clueless or did they do it on purpose? Massage therapist was good but she's not there anymore. My friend used the hydra spa and said it was dirty. Got a manicure here from G and my 9 year old niece could have done a better job. Tried contacting management first but never heard back so here's my review. Poorly managed, some staff have snooty attitudes, and spa service was very bad.

The place has hair all over the floor and everywhere else. It's not kept up at all. Will never go there again, my hair looks terrible with white hairs on my left side that I guess missed the hair dye. Cut is awful, the girl wouldn't listen to what I wanted, just kept talking over me. Will never go there again

I've been going to Ochoa to get my hair done for many many years (along with my boys now too). I've always been very happy. I have really curly hair and Heidi has always been able to tame it, not cutting it too short because anyone with curly hair knows, it takes years, not months, to grow out a bad "curly hair" haircut! I also recently had my first facial (HydraFacial) in over 20 years. Katy did such a great job! I will be back again, before another 20, to have another. I was very happy with the results.

I had a pedicure there once and it was good. But while I was waiting downstairs, I heard two customers complaining about their hair. Needless to say, I never went there for my hair. I love Bellucci's and it's right down the street.

Excellent Salon. My colorist is a gem! I have been a blonde for a while and moving from the South to the North I was unsure of what to expect. I receive so many compliments on my hair and now have a place to refer. If you haven t had a Keratese treatment. Try it. You will get hooked. I have been getting them for years in the South. For me the treatment allows my very pricey hair care to work beautifully!

I've been going here for a while now. Christina f. Always gives me the best cut. I've never gotten one that I didn't like or couldn't do myself. She's amazing.

My daughter and I both go here. We get our hair done by Kate Olson. She is amazing. My daughter gets a full highlight. Kate s color skills are the best around. I just go for haircuts and her styling techniques are perfect. The front desk staff is so professional and helpful. The assistants are awesome. I highly recommend Ochoa.

Jenna M. was fantastic! I was very well taken care of. Any questions I had, she answered or brought someone who knew the answer. The atmosphere was very relaxing and was exactly what I needed. I look forward to my scalp massages every single time I m due for a touch up. She s a 5 star stylist!

The atmosphere throughout the whole salon was a vibe, very inviting, beautiful salon and clean. The stylists were friendly. My stylist Erika was an angel, very accommodating, explained and rexplained any questions I had about process we were going to do. I had a very emotional experience because I had to make a big change by cutting a lot of hair off.. I had not been able to brush through it in 3 months because of the previous damages by a different salon. It needed to be done and she truly made the experience and the process go as smoothly as possible. Super compassionate and I will 100% be back. My hair feels healthy, That was our main goal this time, pricing was less that what I was even expecting. Over all I am just so happy. I also got the eye lash lift and the process was simple and easy. I might go back for the tint but the lift just looks more natural so I m unsure lol. Anyways, 10/10

I'm not very trusting of hairdressers and tend to do my own hair (i know, i know). I decided to give this place a try after hearing so many good things. I'm glad i did. Annie did an excellent job on my cut and color. Very honest, but also listens. I didn't cry after walking out, and i got 7 inches cut off! A very busy and noisy salon (think cafeteria loud) and yes, there is hair on the floor...it's going to happen. I'm so glad i found my new salon!

I highly recommend Jenna M. to anyone who is looking for a new stylist! She has always done an amazing job with my hair. Even when I completely changed it up she got exactly what I wanted with cut and color! She has also helped me finding the right products for my hair. The atmosphere at Ochoa is excellent!

Clean, friendly staff, up to date hair care products and most stylists are knowledgeable on modern hair styles. My only dilemma is that it is a very expensive salon. I have their app and it doesn t function properly. I could never book anything through the Ochoa app, get an error every single time. Wish they d fix it for me. I use to go more frequently until the prices kept going up. Forever committed bc I am terrified of changing stylists lol. I usually always leave the salon happy though. The only reason I took one star away is bc of pricing. It isn t affordable for everyone.

I have been a client for over 25 years. TJ is my stylist. He is punctual and his quality of work is way beyond words. He is witty and can talk about any subject also I admire Margaret for her professionalisms. There has never been a time when I have been there getting my hair done. and she comes over to me and asks me how I am doing. Her two boys are also great.

We love Ochoa. My wife has been a customer for 20 years, my kids for all their whole lives and since Covid now I am too. The staff has our safety and theirs well in hand. And the quality of their work, the environment and the staff just goes without saying. This is the place to go.

Hannah, Hady and the rest of the staff have continued with their awesome professional and friendly service throughout this challenging time. The salon is a clean, safe place to go and everyone does a fantastic job.

I brought my daughter to the salon for a haircut. We met with Steph. I was so impressed with how she handled my daughter who is on the autism spectrum. She was patient, listened to her needs and wants and spent over an hour cutting her hair! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Steph!! Thank you!

I went here a few days ago and got my hair done for a hair dying class by Lorissa and she did phenomenal. It's rare you find someone who can work with textured hair like mine and not mess up. She is the best!

I have been getting my hair done by Avis for a few years now and I m never bored with my hair when she gets done with it. I m not a spring chicken anymore but no matter what length or color it is, Avis always makes my hair look fresh and sassy. She takes time to discuss what I have planned for my hair and makes it even better! Sometimes I have no real direction but her recommendations and the outcome are on point! I ve thought about going somewhere a little less expensive, but when you find a stylist as talented and innovative as Avis you stay!

I only wish the hair washing would have included some pampering and massage like I am used to from previous salons, but I loved my cut.

Wanted platinum blonde highlights Ended up with more of a light brown carmel highlight color and hairdresser says its because she doesnt Want to damage my hair so come back in 4 weeks to make it lighter a good way to make alot of money i suppose keep me coming back for a tad lighter Ive gotten highlights before and they were way lighter than what she gave me paid 110 for it plus a 25 dollar tip gotten better highlights for 70.00

I didn't have an appt today but really needed a haircut and was lucky enough to snag a wonderful haircut with a great stylist, Erica. I highly recommend Ochoa Salon.

Staff is always friendly. They are diverse and always smiling. The environment is aesthetically pleasing and is emotionally healthy. It is a good place to go because they make you feel good about yourself even if you're having a rough time.

I really wanted to love my experience in this salon. Been a "high end salon" I guess my expectations were hi. I came with my daughter, both to get highlights and balayage. My daughter's hair was dark, so the stylist (Maura) did a test on a piece of hair. I was expecting the stylist to come back to me with the results, my daughter is only 13 and I'm the one paying, put she didn't. She decided that she was going to " remove all the dark out" and put a color in. She never spoke to me not even once about anything. She also decided to give my daughter a $30 dollars hair treatment with out my authorization. I look to the side and she was cutting my daughter's hair, there was maybe like 1 inch in the ground witch cost me $50. My daughter left the salon with 3 different colors on her hair, worse than when she walked in. That whole thing cost me $240. Now she doesn't want to go back to get it fix. If you going to charge people this much money, make sure you have stylist that know what they doing. My experience with Lisa was ok. She was a nice lady. I wanted to do a balayage, she told me to do highlights and she was going to melt my roots because I really dislike the line. The color came out ok, put I have lines from the highlights. She didn't do a good job on melting my hair. Witch I new it was going to happen when she didn't bring me back to her station and started placing color on top of my head while sitting in the shampoo bowl. My total cost for this horrible experience was $410 +40 tip.
I really have to say. I'm a manager of hair salon. We only do hair cuts and we only charge $18. Sorry put been at the lower part of the scale we do a better job.
A little disappointed on the salon appearance. I thought it was really fancy inside, bouy I was wrong. Stations don't look clean and floors a dirty. I think there is better places out there for a better price.

I went in to Ochoa in East Longmeadow is a walk as soon as they opened. I had gone to a salon last night that had colored my hair and the roots turned orange... luckily Ana had several hours to work with me to fix the mess from the previous salon. She was informative and conscientious. She spoke her thoughts out loud and included me in the plan. She was very thoughtful about her approach. She was really amazing and not only got rid of the orange but made my hair look and feel better than it has in a long time. I cannot thank her enough. Not only that, the entire time I was at Ochoa I felt like a queen.

Gina is always a sweetheart and on time. Other staff were nice as well. The social distancing set up made me feel very comfortable.

Hannah was great!! She was knowledgeable and so sweet!! It was my first time there and it was such a great experience. Everyone was so mice and kind and welcoming. Some places I have been to the stylist are kinda snobs so it was great to be around upbeat people.

Incredibly clean, stations were spaced out, temperature checks when you walk in the door, and everyone wore masks. I felt 100% comfortable being there. It was the first time I ever got highlights and my stylist, Jenna Marra, was so patient with me and did exactly what I wanted - a very natural, subtle look. She absolutely nailed it. Would recommend 11/10!

Went in for a men's haircut and had a great experience. My stylist Rachael was excellent, very communicative and gave good recommendations. Liked that pricing was transparently listed on the site by stylist, and while I'm sure you could find cheaper I'd trust the folks here over a chain barber shop any day.

I am always treated poorly at this salon. If you want your hair done professionally I would not recommend this place. First of all if you have a problem there is never a manager to talk to. Second, if you dont ask for the price up front you will be shocked when you get the bill. I paid $175 and my hair looked terrible. The also overbook and stack clients so that you have to sit and wait for someone to wash your hair. Do yourself a favor and dont ever go here!

Deena is the BEST and makes me feel 100% comfortable at every appointment. She always gets me in and out without compromising the level of service she's given me for years.

I've been a client of Maura Hall's since 2016 when I moved to the area. Being a blonde, I am very picky about my color, but Maura has never disappointed me. Her eye for color and style is unmatched, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a new hair stylist!

I ve been coming to Ochoa since I was in middle school and not that I m grown and living over an hour away there is still no one I trust more with my hair than Jenny at Ochoa salon. She knows exactly how to cut my thick curly hair so it looks exactly how I picture it every time. I will never go anywhere else.

Reopening day! In addition to the FANTASTIC experience and results I always receive from my stylist Gina, the salon is within compliance with the mandated regulations. Temperatures were taken from each client prior to entering the salon. Stylists called clients who were waiting outside. Disinfecting tasks before and after exiting the seats. ( limited seating due to 6' distancing) All personnel wore masks and face /eye shields. I used the salon's app ( Mind/Body) as my payment method. Definitely a much overdue pleasure to see everyone! And FYI: no blowdry services and recommend bringing cash or Venmo for tips. All in all, an extremely pleasant and safe experience! Great to have you guys open!!

I went there for a massage and the room where services were given was horrible. I came on my lunch break wanting some relaxation with my massage. I could hear the people at the desk talking loud and clearly. I mentioned it to the masseur and she only apologized for the inconvenience.
