The Gem Faire: If you are into gems, pearls, geodes, beads and jewelry, then you might enjoy visiting the many wholesaler displays at the gem faire. Go to the internet and get on their mailing list to get a free $7 entrance pass. Parking in a close lot is $8. I've heard that some people park nearby on other lots doing free.

As you approach the entrance to the building you will notice a few tables of gems scattered before the doorway. I suggest that you walk right into the building. It's amazing to see the expanse of gems. When I saw all those tables, I knew a would be there most of the afternoon.

My wife is the enthusiast, and enjoys looking at the vast array of jewelry and gems. They have everything from loose stones, strings of beads, Indian jewelry, geodes, and silver jewelry all the way to expensive fine jewelry.

If you're into making you own jewelry, you'll enjoy all of the tools and supplies; e.g. clasps, strings, spacers etc.

Even if you're not an enthusiast, the gem faire is an interesting way to spend an afternoon browsing and shopping for gifts.

Prices are up on everything , the front gate staff sucks ( lookout for tall black kid with white women's glasses , he tries to confiscate your items for him self ex. Vape pens, cigarettes, unopened drinks... ) , have to pay $10 for parking , No Smoking Cigarettes or Vaping anywhere inside the fair gates. Even the Performing arts stage where concerts are extra money there's no Smoking or Vaping inside the show. Save a little extra of your money and then go to a real amusement park instead. I usually have a season pass and enjoy going to the OC Fair but this year seems to have really hit a nerve with me.

This place is huge! So much going on all the time. I do wish that signage was a little bit better so that you can find where you are going, because they have more than one event going on at the same time. But overall I can't complain.

We go here every year and it never fails to be fun and entertaining. The rockets are somewhat pricey as are the games and food. Be prepared to spend $14 for entrance ticket fees then $12+ for one funnel cake, fried cheescake, one turkey leg, etc. Bring extra cash if you dont want to pay for atm fees at the fair. The shuttle is the best and cheapest way to get to the fair. You park several miles away at the Experian building parking garage and take a large bus to the fair grounds.

How do prices go up more than inflation? Have had pass to fair for over 10 yrs and getting tired of the vendors raising prices each year in such a manner that is becoming unacceptable and leads me to spend less.

Fun experience and delicious food. I went to the Family Pet Expo in April. There were many animals to see and learn about. Dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, alpacas & lots of adoptable pets. I would definitely go back again.

We were here for a cheer competition, so as a venue, the event center was decent, but not without it's problems.

PROS: plenty of parking, the swap meet was adjacent, so while waiting for results, our families could shop or eat at the swap meet. Inside the actual arena, restrooms were easy to find, clean and well stocked. I cannot speak for the restrooms on the swap meet side.

CONS: we had quite a long wait after performing, but the only place to sit was inside the arena. There were no tables outside the swap meet provided for families to sit during our six hour wait. The few tables inside the swap meet by the food vendors were in the sun and crowded with people fighting for seats so they could eat.

As venues go, it would have been nice to have shaded areas for families to sit since we had a six hour wait. Shopping is fine, but six hours in the direct sun is not fun. It is spacious, but space was one of the few positive attributes it had to offer. If you have to attend an event here and have a long wait, be prepared to sit on hard concrete in the direct sun, fight for the few shady areas sitting against buildings, or walk the swap meet for hours on end. This was not a favorite venue for a cheer competition.
