Great variety of things to do for just about anyone. Riding the tram is an excellent bonus. The slide is awesome, the wildlife exhibit is neat, and ice skating is always fun. Lots of shops as well

The building closes at 9 but basically everything up there closes at 5 except the restaurant, which is cool of that's what you go up there for. The employees are nice and helpful though
This place is like a time capsule! When you get to the top and its like youve stepped back into the 70s! Which is pretty cool but we really went at a bad time. We came during spring. They didnt have everything set up but still charged us full price for the bracelets. We found out after buying them that only a few things were running... That was a huge waste of money. They need to have some kind of discounted bracelet for the off seasons if they don't have everything running... And the animal section was kind of depressing. But the ride up was great and ice skating was fun. My favorite part was the lift to the top of the mtn. Breathtaking views.
Not worth a fraction of the price. The entire place is a rundown shadow of what might have been a nice attraction in the 70's. If you can get past the 50 year old "decor" and the smell of mold you can deal with the staff. The staff must get bonuses for being rude. Everyone of them with the exception of the waitress in the restaurant was an a$$h0l . After the mountain coaster (which was hardly as good as the other ones we rode on the strip) there really insnt much else to do. There are a thousand other better ways to spend this money.
GO TO DOLLYWOOD! ! You get so much more for your money. On their website it gives you the prices for wrist bands. What they don t tell you is that in order to get up to the park you have to pay for the tram to take you there, which was an additional $54 for 2 adults 2 kids, plus $8 for parking if you can t find free parking. The tram would be enjoyable but it s a long wait and then you are packed shoulder to shoulder. Our kids are 8 and 10 so they were too big for the kiddie rides and park area... and by rides I mean all 2 of them. Plus the small carousel. Even if you get the premium tickets that doesn t cover their new tube slide or the new roller coaster. You guessed it! More money for those! There are 3 water slides 2 of them didn t work. You also can t bring food in although no one checked our bag. We later found out you could drive 10 mins up the mountain and pay $8 to park and skip the 30 expensive, packed, smelly tram ride. If you paid for everything you are up to $309! For a half day of repeating the same rides! So very disappointed. Dollywood would have been $296!!!
Wow. What did I just spend 60 bucks on?? I couldn't have been more disappointed. The way I envisioned this place in my head is laughable to the actual experience. It's a bowling alley vibe with a Podunk town fair amusement rides. Best thing about this place was leaving it
All that is beautiful and interesting is lost by allowing and promoting the agglomeration of people in the huge lines and inside the funicular or cable car. DO NOT GO IMMINENT DANGER OF CONTAMINATION.
Although a bit dated and a touch run-down, the sights are truly worth seeing from those heights. Maybe go in a cooler season, as it was warm even indoors.
Don't waste your time nor money!!! We were super excited about snow tubing and had purchased our tickets online ahead of time ($150). We left 3 hours before our scheduled time, headed up the mountain and there is NO Parking available.Website stated a minimal wait for the tram around 2 hours. Headed back down the mountain to catch the tram to find out not only is it $17 a person, but over a 2.5 hour wait. If we would of chosen to ride the tram we wouldn't of made it in time for our tubing reservation, so we basically had to eat the tickets (ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS). My personal opinion, if you can't accommodate parking for online ticket purchases than you need to rethink how your operation works. Absolutely ridiculous! I will never recommend this place ever!!!
It was very upsetting that I paid the full price, yet less than half of the slopes were open. I had to go on the same exact slopes over and over for 2 days, which was boring and disappointing. Usually this is because there are not enough people to open the other slopes, but on the days I was there, it was extremely crowded, with people everywhere. Aside from that, the service was really good and the scenery was gorgeous.
Slope was great for kids and beginners. Parking in Gatlinburg is difficult and the gondola wait up to the slope from the city was long, about 3 hours, coupled with one rude employee made the experience poor. If possible arrive early and get parking up the hill. Saves alot of aggravation, we did that the second day and had a great time
What have been our new fun place to go oh, what was talked very really to buy some of the Ford employees. A young man named Jonathan saw my frustration when I was asking for some who to talk to and went out of his way to help me out. Will not be going back to Ober Gatlinburg when it would have been somewhere we would have went maybe three times a year
Road the tram then the sky lift to the Alpine slide. Would highly recommend. Had lunch at the sky top restaurant. Food was great. Waitress could use a little help. Seen bear on the way down. It's a must do
An incredible experience. First time skiing on snow and although I fell to the ground about 100 times it was a lot of fun. My daughters had a spectacular time. I thought skiing was very expensive. Of course you should know what time you will do it. I recommend the 5:30 pm time since it is the cheapest. They have all the necessary equipment for rent available. It also has technicians who will teach you how to ski. I assure you that you will kiss the snow lots of times but in the end it will be a lot of fun.
Worth the trip! My son loved snowboarding! I tried to ski but wasn t very good, I should ve signed up for lessons. It s a beautiful location though & lots to do!
Always one of our favorite places to be in Gatlinburg. Absolutely something for everyone & I love the fact that there are both indoor & outdoor options all year-round. Fantastic place & easy to spend a whole (affordable) day here!
Was my husband and I first time doing Ober Gatlinburg and we both absolutely loved it, especially the sky tram we both were so shook up but in a good way we will definitely be doing Ober Gatlinburg again
Fun for the whole family! We rode the Ski Mountain Coaster, the Alpine Slide, the ski lift, a fun maze and had lunch! Didn't even get to ice skate or check out the wildlife encounter! Then we took the tram down to downtown Gatlinburg for dinner! Awesome day!
Excellent place to visit!Things to entertain kids as well as adults! Even have a first aide place ! A little one was stung by a bee. They were very gentle with her.Heloed us out, told us when to bring her back if needed.
The views from the tram are breathtaking. The food in the restaurant was generic but tasty. The kid rides are very outdated and could use some sprucing up. The mountain coaster was a lot of fun. Didn't get to check out the small zoo, Alpine slide, or maze. The activities are very pricey, as expected. Overall I was a little unimpressed considering all the hype about it.
Avoid at all costs. Definition of tourist trap. It's like they built it in the 1970 and let it run downhill ever since. Nasty smell. And everything is for a fee or costs tickets... please stay away. Go to Dollywood or a river or go hiking or anything else really.
We went last year in January and skiing was great for Tennessee standards. However, this year in March is was a terrible slush. They should really close down the resort as soon as it s 60 and sunny on the slopes. Slush turns into slush moguls and it s bad. The black run Grizzly was all ice covering the slush. Staff seemed very relaxed about covid. Especially lift people didn t wear masks which was concerning.
Hi prices. A whole lot like a mountain type South of the Border experience. Very cheesy touristy type things. Some things were okay some things were well over rated. A whole lot of it was closed. Lots of walking.
The mountains coaster was fun. There are absolutely NO COVID proceedures in place. Waiting for the tram there were a hundred of people waiting without masks. No 6ft procedures and no other way down (we tried Uber). They had months to figure out how to safety reopen and they did nothing.
i visited Ober Gatlinburg today and was disappointed. we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic 400,000 dead and counting. when you walk on the trams there is no social distancing at all. nobody enforces masks and social distancing there is just signs that s it. Even the employees don t wear their masks properly. Inside there is barely anyone with a mask on or wearing it properly. again, employees don t even wear masks too and don t enforce it. Come on, we re in a middle of a global pandemic with millions dead world wide. Unless you want to come to a place with no guidelines for the global pandemic with millions dead worldwide welcome, this is your home. Do better Ober.
The skyride is pretty neat. Our attendant was awesome. Other than that to many young kids that dont seem to care about their job. We asked what the weather was like up top and he said they had snow. We asked about tubing and skiing. Yes you can do that up top, but when we got up there it was either sold out or closing down. So ice skating it was. My friend fell and hurt her ankle. One of the works seen this and told her when you go back in ask for ice they will give you some. When she asked the girl looked at her like she was speaking another language how we dont have ice. If you do plan on going here double check to see if everything is open at the top but i dont know how you do cause clearly the employees have no clue whats going on.
Complete train wreck. This place needs to shut down and reopen under new management. Needs severe overhaul. Waited 3+ hours to ride the tram up the mountain and ALL the activities were already closed at 1. Nobody but the bar tender spoke English well. Everything way over priced. Food sucked. Shut this place down!!!!
If you are looking for modern bells and whistles this may not be a place for you. The tram ride up to the amusement park was nice, not too crowded and it simply is exactly what it is made to be--a vehicle to transport as many people as possible for point A to point B. The attractions are ok. Again, with the exception of the coaster, the attractions aren't new and modern. I found most employees to be doing a standard job. Some were wearing ear buds and on cell phones while loading rides. Burgers from the snack bar were good as was soft serve ice cream. Our family bought the premium ticket which kept a family of 4 busy for the day. I wish we hadn't visited the habitat. The irony of the sad black bear habitat with the Great Smokey Mountains in the background was depressing. Ober was ok, not great and pricey.
Ober Gatlinburg is always fun! Family Fun taking the tram up to fun and games and more shopping :-). The tram ride is so beautiful looking out over the Smokey Mountains thru Gatlinburg. And then family fun at the top there's even an ice skating rink! Games there's an arcade all kinds of food and snacks. Many different shops from clothing and shoes the candy and fudge. Then you go outside and there's more rides for the kids big and little. LOL you can also take another ride up to Mount Vernon on the ski lift chairs. Was so much fun. This is a must-do!
We had an overall wonderful experience. We arrived later in the day, road the sky lift, did the slides, mountain coaster, and ate dinner. The food was decent and beer was great!
I have been here many times, at my last visit, the place was due some renovation, however I love this place! I have skied here, tried to ice skate, enjoyed the Tram ride up and down the mountain! Its what you would expect in the way of cost! Its a beautiful mountain! You will certainly enjoy your day!
