My experience today was very unpleasant. I ordered a small beef kebab to pick up $13.25, and not only the extremely small portion of meat, but they put the salad, fries and all together, ruining the salad entirely since the fries were hot. I would have preferred to go buy food in a Hindu cart on the street for $5.00.

The food is really good! The chicken and lamb are juicy and flavorful. Entrees come with a side of a delicious blend of rice and chickpeas. I have ordered from this restaurant plenty of times and never had an issue. I highly recommended eating here if you are in the mood for Mediterranean food.

Casual eatery that doesn t have a lot of seats for dining in. Most of the food was flavorless. The falafel and hummus were decent, but the the gyro and adana were so flavorless. Also had to ask for white sauce and might as well have not because it was so thin and watery.

I had left a previous review with a better rating for the doner sandwich with spinach. After ordering a large lamb kebab and a large beef kebab for delivery, I felt the need to review again. While the portions of the previous meal I had were generous, these were not so much. The rice (which was delicious) made up much of the dish. Dont get me wrong, it was good, I just think there are better options for the price.

For overall value and quality of food, Oba is the best restaurant in Forest Hills. It s a bold claim but I firmly stand by it.

My family orders in around two time a week during the winter and during the summer we frequent the location more often.

The quality of the produce is fantastic that is seasoned and grilled to perfection. We generally prefer the chicken or the lamb, but the fish and beef are fantastic options too.

The Falafel balls are some of the best I have ever had. Not too fried where it s too heavy, but just enough to get that great contrast between other outer crunch and the moist inner center.

I would also try their babaghounush, Piyaz & Lahnscun (do it)

They also make homemade bread on premises which is the cherry on top.

10/10 would recommend this place.

I was there for a quick bite, we order pide and fries. We got the fries within few minutes which was almost cold and soggy. But we didn t complain and after waiting for 30 mins i asked the server its been a while and we are still waiting for the pide. She went to check and saw her talking with one of the person in the open kitchen she came back to her spot didn t even bother to inform us about the status. Again I asked her about the order and then she replied its not ready yet and will take another 15 mins to get it ready. I would have waited bt they didn t show a minimum curtesy for being late. I even asked her if its gonna be late then i want to cancel the order, even after that she didn t bring the bill then i went off the table and asked her to give me the bill so that I can pay for the fries. Very disappointing service....

Good Mediterranean place. Fine Turkish selection, if not outstanding. Atmosphere is pleasant, plating is beautiful and the food is tasty (not the best in the city by any Marie, but probably best in the neighborhood). My personal favorite are chicken Adana and calf liver.

Authentic Turkish food in forest hills. Good service. Freshly grilled kebabs. Lahmacun (Turkish pizza), lentil soup, eggplant and salads all fabulous. Affordable and convenient location. Rarely a long wait.

One of the best Turkish restaurant in the city. The staff is amazing, patient and help you work your way around the menu. It's as close to authentic Turkish as you can get. I've kept returning here multiple times and have yet to find something I didn't like. Try the Branzino, European fish, cooked in a Turkish way. But anything here will be great with good portions!. Their homemade bread itself is worth it all

Service was terrible , Rude employees and rushing us while we are eating. Employees telling us that the ice cream machine was off when it wasn t and was giving other customers ice cream. Food and Ice Cream was terrible! Waiters name was Mamadu and was very disrespectful. Never going back!

Wow! I had noticed this place opened and it was on my "to do" list to check it, and boy was I glad I did. I went for lunch and didn't have much time, so I was concerned about at a table service restaurant, but the service here is so snappy, that I was immediately at ease. The food is fresh, delicious, reasonably priced and the portions are generous. I had the Adana (ground lamb skewers), and they were juicy and tender, perfectly spiced. I am looking forward to going back and trying other things.

The food looked delicious. I did not get to try the food because the gentleman dishing out the food would grab the salads with his bare hands and then wipe them on his obviously dirty jeans. Even if his jeans were spotless, he should know better. People are looking in the window and he is just oblivious. DISGUSTING!!! What a shame because the food actually looked appetizing.

Yes the food here is incredible, but the service is top notch. I dropped a knife on the floor and had a new one before I picked it up. They bought me all kinds of dressings and sauces that I wanted. Everyone was super nice and professional. I'll be back for the service alone. Awesome food and reasonable prices. This lunch was about $11 plus tax tip and drink.

A nice Mediterranean restaurant at fair price ranges. We had a business dinner there and all of our partners shared positive things about their hand made fresh bread and appetizers that came in small cups. Looking forward for another opportunity to visit.

This is a very popular place in the community even though it was just opened. The food is great and price is decent. But it was crowded for most of the time and the waitress were busy all the time, so you need to be patient.

Food was authentic and tasty. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Located right on Austin Street in the heart of Forest Hills. Great place for some delicious middle eastern comfort food. Also have amble heated outdoor seating!

Solid 3 Star place. They recently opened and have a lot of time to improve.

Im sure by next year they will improve and I will give a 5 star review. The menu is slightly overpriced.

The seating arrangements are so-so, very packed and hard to maneuver.

I saw some of the kitchen crew are from another Turkish Restaurant called Hazar, Bay Ridge. That restaurant is definitely a five star. What happened to OBA? Lost in translation?
