Went with some of my buddies and had a great experience last day. This Mediterranean restaurant is very busy on weekends. I loved the tasty items because these are so delicious, spicy, and yummy. Popular foods are Chicken Gyro, Lamb Gyro, etc.

Found this place after a hike in Forrest Hills Park. A clean bright place to have a bite and people watch, or not. Greeted by friendly staff, water and pita service with olives, tzatziki and another spicy sauce. Really enjoy the small plate options. Ordered a small Chicken Shish Kebab plate and a large Med salad with Lamb gyro added. Excellent

I est at Oba s once a week and their chicken/ lamb gyro platter with the french fried is delicious. Their rice is mixed with chickpeas and also taste very good. Vert hearty meal and one platter can feed two people. Their pitas are made fresh too

I just got home from picking up my order. First it was wrong. I ordered a chicken adana (received lamb). I paid to upgrade my salad to shepherds (it was not). I asked for no bread (they gave me bread). And to top it off there was hair in my rice. It went in the garbage!

My friend and I ordered the mixed grill! It was so good and perfect for sharing and we still couldn't finish. The meat is cooked and seasoned to perfection!! Love this place! And the servers are so friendly and kind.

My friends and I have been dining at this spot since it opened, but overall, the consistency and service of this restaurant has been frustrating.Today, we decided to grab a bite here for outdoor dining and the service was highly disappointing. The server messed up our order not once but least 5 times. First, my friend ordered adana kebab but they came back with chicken wings. Second, we ordered a side of fries and another large fries. and we had to ask them every 20 minutes if our fries were ready and it turned out they never placed the order. When they finally came back with our fries, we were almost done with our entree HOWEVER, they came back with a side of rice and large fries instead of the two fries that we initially ordered in the beginning. At this point, we just said to take back the rice which we never ordered because we were all very frustrated at this point. And, while we were eating, OBA employees kept looking/glaring at us which made us very uncomfortable so we finished our meal and asked for the check. We paid and tipped them but not once did they apologize or say sorry because all of us (5 people) were very clear about our order in the beginning, the waitress even repeated our orders correctly so I'm not exactly sure what went wrong but they should've apologized instead of being rude.

This place is the worst. I ordered food for delivery. I live literally 10 minutes away walking distance. The delivery took 2 hours. We threw the food in the trash after looking at it and cooked our own meal. I ve lived in forest hills for 15 years. This is by far the worst experience we ve ever had. I will never order from them again

Love it

On point flavors (be prepared for large plates of food)...friendly staff... Not particularly roomy, but the service and food quality is up to par with the ratings. I ordered the Mixed Grill and Tabouli side and tried my friend's Falafel side, which was more than we could have asked for. I would, without hesitation, recommend Oba!

My family went last night to try out what appeared to be nice restaurant in Forest Hills ... To our dismay upon entry - No A/C ... so on a hot summer day - that should have been our hint to walk out but we tried to turn lemons into lemonade ... The waitresses did try to keep our water filled but no ice water - it was lukewarm/tap water ...

The HIGHLIGHT of the night was the bread they served was quite tasty dipped in either the spicy tomato sauce / tzatziki / olive oil condiments ...

Sadly, the dinner was less than impressive - as a general rule when we see pink areas on the chicken kebobs - that is hint # 1 - NOT to eat it! The french fries came out cold ... While the price of the meal was typical (approx $16-18 per person) - the plates were filled more with salad than meat so you may still come out less than filled.

While the staff noticed our disappointment and was apologetic and I still left a 16% tip for effort - it may be a while before we decide to venture back ..

I went to OBA second time with my family. The staff was nice and polite. As soon as we finished a dish, they popped up and refilled that. The food was fantastic especially the Turkish Adana kebab and lahmacun. I did not see such a great taste at another similar places that I tried in the city. Good corner lot also for double side services. No sunburn no long waiting

Some friends took me there for lunch on Wednesday. There were at least nine pieces of chicken liver left over and I requested a carry out bag. Instead of bringing me the container and letting me pack it on my own they took the food in the back packed it for me. When I got it home and open it later, I found only four pieces buried under a lot of red onions, lettuce, and tomatoes.

As a Turkish woman I was happy to see a Mediterranean restaurant in the neighborhood. Unfortunately the quality of restaurant is really low. First of all we ordered pide and lahmacun and the food was looking good until I saw a really long hair on my lahmacun. It was discussing I was expecting at least a sorry for it but they just took the food back. Another problem about this restaurant is their waiters. They don't even do their job properly just were walking around and not paying attention to customers. Lastly we wanted them to wrap rest of our food one of the waiter was trying to put it into container near kitchen and I was watching her idk who was he chef or somebody else he came near her and touch our food with his hands without gloves and throw our food out to container. This restaurant has really hygiene problems. I hope they can improve themselves and we ll have nice and high quality.

Excellent service. The side order of spinach something was extraordinary! The lamb chops, not bad, the Adana combo is what reduced the stars here. They were re-heated and dry. I could've waited for the freshly grilled ones. Really!

Please don t eat at this place!!!!! I had a very bad experience. They don t even know what a gyro is. I order a gyro and they bring me rice with lamb. I had to google a picture of a gyro to the waitress, like FOR REAL. I will never go back to this place.

I was not expecting it to be this good, honestly. Best Turkish food I ve ever had. The meat and chicken were really juicy and flavorful. The staff was really nice and attentive, and the proportions were pretty large. Very pleasant experience!

I d say that this place is mediocre. I got the chicken gyro platter which came with a round type of bread, rice, chicken, and salad. Overall everything was so greasy. The chicken was not flavorful, the rice was covered in grease and the salad was mostly cabbage and iceberg lettuce. I felt like the meal was expensive for what I got. I could have gone to a cart and gotten better meal. I recommend literally anywhere else.

Very good place with authentic Greek dishes and atmosphere. We went with mixed kebab, which goes for $29 and is enough for two people to share. All kinds of meat were perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend

This is the one of the best Mediterranean / Turkish restaurants in Queens and a welcome addition to Forest Hills. Everything presened was super fresh and delicious. The service I have experienced here was phenomenal.

It's a recently opened new spot in the heart of Forest Hill happening street. Right across the famous Martha's bakery.

The food we ordered were the soup both chicken and lentil ( really enjoyed the lentil soup) and decided to also try out lukmachun lol I don't know if I'm spelling it the way they do but it's a bread mixed with dice meat and it's was delicious :)

For main course my wife wanted to order mix grill and although I felt I should share it with her she was feeling hungry and said I should order my own dish so I did. A homemade bread wrap with chicken adana in it ... honestly I did not like that one bit, the bread was hard and I could not enjoy it one bit.

My wife enjoyed part of her mix grill such as lamb chop and shawarma however she said her rice was too hard and should have been left in the cooker a little longer. She ended up throwing away the rice!

Last but not least , I don't understand why the owner will not place halal sign when he says this restaurant food is completely halal ??? My wife ate because she said the owner is Muslim and he said its halal however I just don't understand why they can't say it openly ???

OBA Mediterranean Gyro & Grill is popular and famous in the neighborhood. There is always a crowd when indoor dining was available.

We had their Family Combo: Chicken option for 2 and shared with a group of three. There were Chicken Mixed Grill, a side salad, a bowl of hummus & eggplant salad, 4 pieces of falafel, pita bread, rice and baklava.

We highly recommend to have their family combo with most of their signature options. Overall the food was amazingly delicious, especially the falafel and pita bread.

The falafel was well-cooked, moist inside and crunchy outside. The pita bread was soft and puffy with appetizing smell. It was super tasty with hummus and eggplant salad.

We placed our order via Uber Eats and it was delivered on time. We will definitely plan our next visit to try different options shortly.

The falafel with hummus is always a must have. And the chicken gyro actually comes in a plate which is great because the portions are huge .

And the bread they give you is freshly made and is great with the dipping sauces.

Great food and excellent service! Our waiter was always checking in and was quick to bring out our food and any extras we asked for! The lamb and chicken combo is my go to! Their mixed appetizer plate is great! Their pita bread is not so much pita bread but 100% better than pita bread! So soft and it s complimentary as well! Really recommend for an afternoon light lunch or even heavy dinner!
