Good music venue. Medium sized. Decent acoustics on ground floor level but less so in the balcony. Lovely building.

I went there 5 months ago to see Hollywood Undead, It was great, the manager was friendly to me coz I had autism, I'm 14
I'm defo going back!! :)
The sound can be pretty bad but the right band will pull it off.
Quite intimate for large venue, good viewing throughout. Stiflingly hot due to heat wave though, so annoying to see unused fans stored above bars.
Hard a great seat in balcony enjoyed the atmosphere don't drink but had a soft drink
Great place! You can see well from everywhere inside. The drinks just a bit expensive.
Went to see Inside the Staircase, didn't get a good look of the place but it was big and there was plenty of seats available. The seats weren't comfortable at all but we had a whole row to ourselves. Bit of a random place to have the venue but all round all good
Absolutely disgusted do me the favour who is actually your govern body ... think I need know... No words can describe
Had a great time at the proclaimers no issues felted safe
Staff inside the venue pleasant and helpful but door staff not so! Rude and unaccomodating...manners cost nothing!
Reasonable gig venue. Strong stage and sound system, not many other thrills and spills!
Amazing place been a couple of times now, 1st was Steriophonice and then Bastille...sound qulity is good and drinks arnt too badly priced
Went to see volveat with my wife, had tickets for seating in the balcony, thought it would be a bit calmer as my wife suffers from severe anxiety attacks, however it was so busy an attack came over her but thanks to a steward named Ryan who not only made her feel comfortable but then escorted us both to a more secure
The O2 Academy offers a decent sound for bands and with the building being an old theatre / cinema the slope of flooring and stairs allows decent view of the stage. Went for Machine Head and loved it
Excellent venue, never had any issues with door staff. Security inside can be a little hit and miss, I got pulled up and threatened to be removed for taking videos (I was taking a photo and an announcement at the beginning said that was allowed) however said nothing to the drunk guy who was shouting regularly and being abusive to people!
Absolutely brilliant venue. Have been no a number of gigs here including A day to remember and Architects. Great atmosphere and and the security/staff have always been great.
Toilets are so small it's a joke. Sound in venue not the best.
Security was good. Certainly saved me missing the stranglers. Odd customs you jocks have, you can't chill out with a spliff but you can get aggressive boozing all day. That could have been the Celtic fans though.
Went to see trivium. They are great to see live. The place was nice. Friendly staff and the place was clean. They could open a door or something to get some fresh air as it got sticky and hot
Such a small venue with incredibly rude staff, if your thinking of going to an over 18 even here please think again as i am 20 years old and brought 2 forms of proof of age (drivers license and student card) i got turned away even with id, as did my friend who is 22 and brought her passport and again got a knock back, staff were incredibly rude and i was told to "not insult their intelligence", i have a tattoo which i also showed and a braclet that have both an 18 and 21 charm on it and they rufused to give me my money back and let me in
Been to multiple gigs here, always a blast and security staff is always fantastic at their job.
Saw Cage The Elephant. A new experience for me. I may have been the oldest person there, but they were truly phenomenal. 5 stars are for the band
Quite a small venue meaning you are close to the band with a great atmosphere.
First visit to the venue. Was there to see Trivium. Fantastic venue very easy to get to. It's right next to Bridge St tube station.
Went to see Haim play here last week. Great venue for the gig was well staffed and plenty of bars so there was hardly any waiting time :) Gig was absolutely fantastic!!
A horrible, horrible music venue. I only attend through necessity but it's definitely the worst venue in Glasgow (if not Scotland or even the world)
Thank you Ryan at the O2 Academy Glasgow on 21/02/2020 for assisting us and accommodating my daughter with asd at the dead South gig
Thank you
Good venue, excellent acoustics. Only caveat being the disgusting non alcoholic beer for drivers.
Love the Academy, great venue lots of bars and a great sound.
Awesome venue. Saw Chris young, he was fantastic!! Great staff , good parking all around.
Great venue located near Glasgow city centre. Hosts an eclectic mix of concerts and events.
Great venue for acoustics, my only issue with it was that the gig was very warm and cramped. It seemed like there was no ventilation whatsoever, and everyone including the band commented on just how warm it was. Apart from that it was a great place, just be careful if attending a sold out show.
I went to see Train on the 20th Oct 2017 and it was amazing, what a great atmosphere.
Just been to see Embrace, absolutely fantastic. A completely dedicated crowd what more can a band ask for?
My time at the O2 Academy was a good one. With an entrance straight into the hall. With four bars to get drinks you're never far away to get that beverage that you crave. Audio wise, the place had a great system set up so was able to hear everything.
Every time im in glasgow its for a gig there.... James bay....kodaline twice....i love this place
Great night out but the place can sure hold the heat
Great venue, my current favourite perhaps eclipsing the Barrowlands.
Staff are a complete nightmare will never go back here bit of advice sack the lot of them
Nice venue for a gig. Attended Kip Moore and sat in the unreserved seating on the balcony. Good view and great atmosphere when everything got going. Acoustics sound great too. Building generally has an old feel about it (toilets seem dingy and smelly) but I suppose that's to be expected given the age and design of the building. Would go to another gig there. Staff friendly and helpful.
Fab old looking venue.. pity the sound was pish poor!
Been to many gigs here, and have grown to love it despite its flaws. Very expensive bar is a major negative - nearly a fiver for a pint of their bog standard lager loses points. But it allows great views if you find the right spots. And if you get the chance to see a gig from a balcony alcove, it can be truly wonderful.
Great venue. Saw snoop dogg and stereophonics there, brilliant. better than the hydro easily
Visited the O2 academy last night with husband who has walking difficulties. Whilst waiting in a very long queue one of the stewards approached my husband and told him to make his way straight to the front of the queue where he got priority access. Great customer service. Thank you
Excellent venue, good views, lots of bars and toilets. Good bus link to city centre.
Only complaint is that they don t serve tea or coffee. A bit sad for the drivers really
Awful place for live music the acoustics are awful, don't know why any band would play here
Disgusting venue. I attended a concert recently and was told at the last minue my bag had to be put in the cloakroom which I was not told on the ticket, on the website or anywhere else. OTHERWISE I would not have brought a bag. It was a cheapshot at making lots of money. The que for the cloakroom after the concert was a disgrace, hunders of people queing on stairs which were soaking wet. The walls and ceilings were dripping with who knows what kind of fluid. It was nothing but a safety hazard, very disorganized and disgusting. I will not be going back. Put an absolute downer to the end of a great night.
What a cracking rock and roll venue. Great acoustics and a great atmosphere.
The only negative point I have is that they serve a poor selection of drinks on tap.
Entry was a complete cluster. Why bother with an O2 priority queue if you're going to pass everyone in from the regular queue first. Security also wouldn't remove someone who was very disruptive to others around. The bright spot was Leslie, who was am absolute gem in assisting us with verifying our tickets would scan correctly.
Nice small venue to up close and personal with your favourite bands. Plenty of bars. Only issue is the facilities (at least the Men's)
