The sound quality is not that great but if you choose your band wisely they'll pull it off and make it work. I do recommend the owners of the venue really invest in some better acoustics as support bands always sound awful. Seen Rob Zombie's show here and it was epic though.

The O2 Academy is a brilliant venue for gigs with a good view of the stage from most points in the auditorium. The only slight niggle on occasions is how long it takes to get served at the bars at bug events.

Friendly and helpful staff each time I visit. Would have given 5 stars but for some reason the air conditioning was either not on or broken and I had a numb bum from the seats. Fix these two things and it would be a 5 star rating.

Great venue. Great view from standing and great view from upstairs. Drinks are not cheap but staff and stewards are all great friendly and helpful. Easy to get to. 5 minute walk from City centre and plenty of free parking in surrounding area and public transport links include buses and underground.

Been to this venue many a time over the year and decent venue, soundsystem can be a hit or a miss depending on the gig/night that's on. Drinks prices are reasonable but the toilets ain't the best

Sound can be hit or miss. Main problem is terrible layout for toilets, people love standing on the stairs at mezzanine level blocking the way past and an overpriced bar. Rather travel to another date on the tour than go here again.

The O2 Academy is a music venue that has been converted from a theatre. Due to this is has a main standing area close to the stage with bars along the walls along with two raised standing sections with bars near the entrance. In addition to the standing section there is seating upstairs. The raised areas and style of the building give a unique feel the the venue and the sound quality has always been good.

The only downside is that the venue is a reasonable walk from the centre of Glasgow and the toilets where found to be a little dirty. Apart from these minor issues the O2 Academy is a great venue to watch live music which i would highly recommend.

Great night, great music, great venue 2000 people all sharing common ground, united through music in a world defined by division, need to remember how it felt inside the venue singing along with the lyrics when we go return to our places of work on Monday.

Went to see Cage the Elephant, the concert itself was amazing. Great place to see a band but where they sell their merchandise is absolutely ridiculous. It was located at the stalls so anyone in the balcony needed to wait until the end...they did say it would be open to all 15 minutes before the end...but really, who wants to miss the last part...not me! When I complained they said it would be open for 30 minutes after the show...slightly better but I also needed to get a train back home. On top of that the t-shirt I wanted was sold out in my size. Felt discriminated against because we had balcony tickets! Very frustrating as this was a gift from my daughters and I wanted a memento...did get something but was 2nd choice.

I was surprised at how big this venue really was compared to the ABC O2 (rip...). It is also incredibly easy to get to at anytime of the day due to it being situated directly next to Bridge Street subway (beware of closing times though). Another thing I noticed was the abundance of smaller bars around the hall, something which I deeply appreciated

Quite a good venue for live music. Negative is the gents being right at the back, meaning if watching near the front making way right through the crowds to get there, and state of the toilets a bit unpleasant.

I've been to the O2 academy for concerts and shows several times now and I have to say that it's got a great atmosphere and the acoustics are absolutely fantastic. Most of the places to stand have got a great view of the stage so you can easily see what's going on.

Overall a great venue as long as you don't want to drink anything or have to go to the loo.

Quite nice venue

Quite nice venue
A bit old but good atmosphere
The cash only policy with no cashpoint in/near the venue is a bit tricky though

The O2 Academy (or just the Academy) is a bit of an institution. Putting on medium-large gigs for decades.

As with many gig venues, the bar is poorly stocked and over priced but that not what you go there for.

I assume it used to be a theatre which means that from all parts of the building you can have an excellent view of the stage.

The lower floor is standing and the balcony is seated but usually not allocated seats so it can be a but of a free for all.

Expect to get metal detected on the way in so dinnae bring a chib.
