It is a marvelous place to go and relax in the mountains, whether it's for a romantic getaway with your partner or as a family holiday. The atmosphere is great and the staff here are so friendly. You are made to feel part of the family and and the service is second to none. I would happily recommend it to anyone
Really nice place with really social birds! To do !
Amazing place treetop walk is awesome but beware if your not a fan of heights. Can feed the birds as well in the feeding area cost us $4 for a try of seeds but they last us all day
The tree top walk is a favourite and so it the drive up to this magical place
The restaurant and cafe have terrible service, and don't even bother with the coffee. Just make yourself some blend 43, it will be better.... The view is lovely though.
Great stay with comfortable rooms and good facilities
We enjoyed the experience with the birds and loved the walk on the treetop. Parking is easy. Toilet was not clean but I think because they were under staff at the time.
Took the family for the treetop walk. Shorter than expected.
Came for a day trip and a tree fell over the road so decided to book a room for the night. So we headed to the bar had a few beers and some pizzas which were delicious. Compliments to the British guy at the bar, cant remember his name fantastic hospitality and the girl from New Zealand working behind the bar. She has impeccable taste of music and her play list was awesome. You guys really care about your guests cant wait to come back.
Great activities and guides. A beautiful part of the world.
The staff are extremely helpful and professional, service was quick, and minimal waiting time for orders.
Great place to see the birdlife up close and some fantastic short walks such as the treetop walk and python rock that everyone can do.
Always a lovely time having lunch or a drink here, great food and good prices, but the view and scenery is what sets it apart!
Great service, food was tasty. Perfect family night away.
Beautiful but that drive up and down the mountain is terrifying and, frankly, doesn't seem safe.
Awsome retreat! Lots to do and see. Great walks and very friendly staff
Great place to walk. Love all the parrots at the cafe. We did the track to moran falls which was lovely. Best part was seeing the wild dingo in the forest
Stunning but the road is narrow, poorly upkept, potholes everywhere & it very dangerous
Beautiful place to stay over with loved ones. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the mountain view room and the view is stunning. They also offer some activities during the day. There is jacuzzi and infinity pools available for hotel guests however, ashamed that its not heated so we are unable to use it during winter. Buffet breakfast was disappointing. All the food were cold and we were not even late for breakfast. We came at 9am and all danishes were gone and food were cold. But dinner was tasty but expensive. Other than those drawbacks, we will definitely come back for weekend gateaway. We live in Brisbane so its not too far to come here.
Do not recommend driving up yourself as the roads are very windy and there is practically one lane for 2 way traffic. The scenery at the end of the drive is worth the few hours drive.
My wife and I stayed at the Mountain View room in August 18. Housekeeping knocked at 4pm at which I called out 'Hang on' (for very good reasons). They (yes there were 3), knocked again, then decided to intrude in our room. Needless to say, too much more. When I answered the door, I was confronted with three smirking individuals, asking whether I needed to order 'dinner' - NOT good enough, O'Reilleys - Tip: Chock your door as there wasn't a chain on the door also.
A wonderful experience for the whole family. So relaxing. Magic.
Very nice place to take the kids and stroll along the canopy
The road is a bit bad winding on and on for an hour but the results in the end are great.
Loved the experience with the parrots and the the walk through the botanical gardens was gorgeous.
Great day out for families and friends, breathtaking views, bird feeding and watching, lovely foot bridges into the rainforest and tree top walks across bridges.
Lovely spot at the end of a great drive. Road is very narrow at times but has some breathtaking views along the way and will reward you for taking a few risks and nailing your throttle to the floor.
Stayed in one of the Villas. Location was great, amazing view, and many walks were nearby. The bird feeding was fun, and there were many activities for kids through their rangers program. The food was fine, no problems.
Beautiful rainforest and clean rooms. Facilities need a little tlc and better parking.
One the great spots in Queensland clean mountain air great views from the room looking into the valley below excellent service and friendly staff Excellent room, great food
Great place. Their web page really doesn t do it justice. It really is a quality hotel that has everything you d need.
Great destination and quite affordable. The drive up is interesting and probably not for any nervous drivers.
The walks are geared for people of all levels from the easy stroll of the tree top walk right the way to big 14km treks.
The glow worms were great to see and or guide was really good.
Food is on the expensive side but given the isolation, not unexpected.
The infinity pool is a must visit!
Great destination for everyone.
The cafe was terrible, the food was less than average, it was over priced and what we ordered wasn't what we got.dont go to the cafe, take your own picnic.
Just fantastic. I was lucky enough to get a two bedroom villa. A huge terrace, a table for 6 people and a barbecue. 1st highlight: the whirlpool on the terrace. 2. Highlight and the attraction in the resort: Parrots come to visit this terrace, you have a bit of pastry or some fruit, they eat out of hand. Absolutely awesome. Just like the directions (and the descent, because only road ...): Part adventurous single lane, partly through dense rainforest with many lots of noise ... . A highlight of every East Coast trip in Australia
Nice place for camping and bushwalking. I liked this place and go there asap again.
Absolutely loved our stay. Splashed out and got the 2 bed villa with spa bath - view incredible, spa bath on deck the best!! We'd jump out and run inside to the amazing gas fire place with realistic looking logs! My 3 year old loved it and fell asleep in front of the fire both nights. Brekky was so good. Homemade muesli, homemade pancakes and porridge with delicious jams and accompaniments as well as great hot food and home made baked beans. Staff lovely and we loved all the activities - bird of prey show, glow worm tour and meet our native animals - really lovely place
Amazing walks and the staff are exceptional. Keep going back to discover new things. The kids love it.
We only did a day trip but loved the location of the resort, the trails and the many birds.
Amazing location with incredible scenery and wildlife. 5 stars for this... But the cafe is outdated, serves quite poor food, poor service, and really needs a renovation. Bring your own food and enjoy the national Park and you will have a five star day.
Always a nice family day out. Slow windy drive to the retreat, the cafe looks good but I have never tried, there are great facility s for a picnic lunch or a bbq. The free treetop walk is fantastic and the 30 meter tree climb is not for the faint hearted. The garden walk is also nice.
This is such a great place for all tourist to visit, young, old, local and international! A must see and great as a winter get away!
Carla and Glen were so lovely to my friend and I. We were stuck at the top of Lamington National Park overnight due to roadworks and when we went back to the O'Reilly's guesthouse, Carla and Glen took extremely good care of us and showed great hospitality, above and beyond what normal people would. Definitely recommend the place due to the incredible treatment. And the location? Stunning!
Fantastic place, beautiful views great walking tracks, to quality food in restaurant.
Delightful! All the staff were wonderful and should be paid more, especially that wonderful activities woman Silvia
relaxing, beautiful, delicious, good staff, good Possibilities, very bad Wifi , this place needs more indoor activities for a family if you have a raining day you have to spend all day indoor .
The villas are amazing with spectacular views . They are great for a couples retreat with two bedrooms and own en-suites.
Meghan was awesome where she catered to all our needs.
What a gorgeous place! The views are a dream. Nice weather permitting, this is easily one of the most beautiful places in southern Queensland. Be aware that it gets very, very cold at night/in the morning.
We spent two nights at O'Reillys in April. The room was absolutely clean and in order. A bit older, but ok. It is important to know that the food is very expensive and the offer in the mini market is very limited. Breakfast $ 35 without reservation, $ 32 with reservation. We made an expensive toastie at the cafe instead of the overpriced breakfast. In the afternoon we had a kids' portion of burgers, the meat was really not good. The Carrot Cake, however, already. We also recommend the salads in the restaurant. You get a good and v.a. Delicious portion and the staff was very friendly. The infinity pool can be found after a long walk at the villas. Although the hotel advertises mega with this pool, it is not signposted and the footpath is muddy and unkempt. So you take in the eco hotel the car for this route, which is a shame. The early morning Birdwalk was run by an enthusiastic co-worker, but had over 20 people too many attendees. It was an experience, but we would not come again.
Amazing nature! Every day stuff organize entertainments for you. Feeding birds, lections about eagles, trip to rainforest, waterfall and mane other. We found guet book of 1940 in local library, isn't it wonderful?
Very nice place to stay, staff were lovely and helpful.
Great place to enjoy the Hinterland and rejuvenate your soul
be wary of the road up the mountain narrow tight twisty bends and one way only lots of places,
one of the worst roads I have driven on, sheer cliff drop , not worth the time and effort to go ,unless u like living on the edge with dangerous roads, not enough signs for the walking tracks more to do and see at mt tamoborine
Fantastic place to stay and relax. Many walks and paths around.
Nice place off the beaten track. Nice walks in the rainforest. Leave the recwption a bit wanting, confusing.
What a great place to relax. The road to get there seemed to be the only problem. Great food and a very polite staff.
We have had a great time since some troubles at the start. All I can day is if your not happy speak with management. They are more than willing to help you and want to please there guests. We have had a great time. Thank you.
Do you need a break? I did.
Just go here. Just do it. Amazing. Everything was just amazing.
10/10 cannot fault.
Beautiful location and lovely accommodation. Clean and complete with all high class equipments. The pool was a bit disappointing but in- balcony jacuzzi made up for it. Will definitely go again and recommend to friends.
The tree top walk is fun and educational for all ages (not for people who don't like heights)
Amazing location situated in the heart of a subtropical rainforest that supports a wealth of wildlife and exotic species of birds. I also highly recommend joining Glenn for an early morning bird walk. The facilities are superb considering its isolated nature with a well stocked general store etc. The campsites are well maintained and facilities are clean.
Nice rooms, but they feel lived in. Long drive, but worth it? We went there with a toddler she was interested, but not enough to make it better than a couples weekend. View was great watching sunset over the hills. Best sunset I've seen in Oz.
Lots of great walks around. Plenty of amenities and activities for all ages.
Only gripe and it's a small one, the wi-fi connections in the rooms wasn't great.
Visited for the first time yesterday. Very overrated. Amenities are run down and not upkept(whole place needs to be refurbished) staff speak little English, very overpriced
Highly recommend O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat, especially for nature and wildlife lovers! So many gorgeous birds, ticked a few off my sightings list!
Our room was lovely, bed comfortable, bathroom clean, and we had stunning views of the mountains, was hard to leave!
Also, all the staff were just incredible! So friendly, funny, catering and informative.
2 nights simply wasn't enough!
Great walks, accomodation and service. Food was A++
Fantastic place for walking, but don't go for the Cafe, very expensive and average quality. Very touristy location not a quiet place to go. Seem to prioritise making money out of international guests. Didn't feel like a rain forest retreat but rather tourist hotstop.
