The price is really good, and you will get nice breakfast with sunshine and beach view in the morning. The beach nearby is quite long and fit for surfing.

The car park is downstairs with ideal fee charge. There are lots of Chinese resturants nearby.

Bathroom and room was clean and bed was comfy, went down for breakfast in the morning after we made a booking the night before and apparently it wasn't on there system or there was a lack of communication somewhere, food was good but they forgot our drinks by the time we had finished eating we were ready to leave for our day,

Great food as usual. However with a large group and wanting to pay for our own drinks, it was a hassle at the end of the night as it became apparent another tables drinks had been added to our group! The girl was quite good about it but there was obviously a breakdown in the system for that to happen. We had a lovely night.

Hotel is nice but service wasn't that great. Some of the staff is nice but not all was great.Hotel charged me double and took a week to get my money back. I think hotel with big name should provide little bit better service. I booked room for 2 adults and 1child. Checked in 2pm and bed hasn't been made until 9pm.

It was great, and such a nice place to stay. We were upgraded as a surprise and had a gorgeous view of the water. The only issue I had were the pillows weren't overly substantial, they went flat very quickly, but I didn't check for a pillow menu, so that might be my fault. Still, I loved it. Thanks.

Positives and negatives. The staff did their very best to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. I booked a mid week mid winter getaway but was not given a particularly optimal room. Very close to the lifts; this is a busy hotel and I knew the lift noise would disturb me. Reception very swiftly found me another room; not as large or as nice but more quiet. Neither room had any real aspect or view though. I was not paying top dollar, but still in my opinion quite a hefty price. The breakfast was excellent; but the few features that the hotel offered - gym, pool, health club were all closed, and lots of drilling noise could be heard from my room. This was a disappointment, as the weather was not great, and the use of the facilities would have helped.

Beautiful room with an amazing view it was spectacular.
The staff were very friendly, obliging and approachable while still being professional. Excellent service
We were surprised with a lovely complimentary gift and it made our day all the more special.

The most amazing coffee! Plus the prices are reasonable, not what I'd expect from the city. They have great cakes and muffins plus a large selection of organic products. It's very busy but only because it's so good!

Great stay, beautiful location. My room was spotless and very comfortable - modern and stylish. The staff were, without exception, charming and helpful. Excellent cocktails at the bar! I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in Wollongong and recommend the hotel to anyone.

Good place, they have both Ocean view and city view rooms. The place is clean and rooms are great. Price is a little bit on higher side if compared to other facilities near by. However the place is also better. The only shortfall is their free wifi facility, which is nearly unusable which is very rare if compared against similar hotels. But if you have mobile data or pocket wifi to use then this place is for you.

I feel like I've been robbed. Paid $170 on check in, in cash. The lady told me she forgot to take payment even though its company policy to collect payment on check in.

A week later they have charged my card without authorization of even speaking to me first.

They claim they watched the video footage and no cash was taken on the time of check in but wouldn't let me watch the footage for my own piece of mind, which is very strange...

Menu options and buffet were delicious and fresh (little bit pricey) . Nice to see upgrades in decor through the hotel and Windjammers Restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Disabled parking was great.

Then there is my "however" statement that let the whole experience down... The chairs in the restaurant were originally white. White chairs need to be frequently scrubbed and even bleached. Where we were seated, you could see the sides & undersides of the chairs on the raised level of the restaurant. I can't describe the levels of dirt there! All the white chairs we were on or that were around us were stained with dirty marks to some degree.

This made my marking drop otherwise 4 stars

My wife booked a room here a couple of weeks ago and we drove down from Sydney on a Friday morning. We took the coastal road and enjoyed lunch at a coastal pub and took photos along the way. I've got to say, North Beach is really nice, but the hotel surprised me. It was not as nice as I expected, it needs a refurbishment, it was very 90s. I felt like I was in an episode of Seinfeld (not that there's anything wrong with that). The room was nice enough, but again, not as nice as I expected. Also, our neighbours were those party animal types who would have talked about how much they loved 'raging' and 'watersports' if they grew up in the 1980s and went on Perfect Match and those two phrases had very different connotations. The dude next door was so obnoxious and loud that he reminded me of a person I once knew who was also very obnoxious and loud - what was his name again?
Oh yeah, Jerkymacjerkface.
It was raining and very windy on the Friday night and we could still hear Jerkymacjerkface next door raging - despite the aforementioned storm activity (caused by a low pressure system to the east). We decided to turn on the TV and watch an on-demand movie, but the screen only had stuff on it that looked like Microsoft DOS code from the 70s. My wife rang reception to report this but most of the 15 minute conversation was taken up with her trying to explain what DOS was. She gave up and just took to saying 'The screen has computer writing all over it..." The reception person came up (with a trainee) and she was very nice about it. She expertly unplugged the TV and then expertly plugged it back in again, all while the trainee took detailed notes. It didn't work, the screen still had lines of DOS all over it - and you know what? that was actually a good thing after all - it meant we got to properly explain what Microsoft DOS was and how it formed the backbone of the personal computer revolution of the late 1970s. And after the inevitable debate about the role of Apple in that revolution, we decided to let the receptionist (and trainee) go - confident that they both had a more than adequate understanding of the history of the personal computer. And to top it off, I got to say "I told you so" to my wife because I'd insisted (as always) we take the overhead projector with us - it always comes in handy that thing - you just never know when you'll need to give an impromptu presentation. Before the reception person and trainee left though, they gave us free wifi for the night so we could download a film on my wife's phone and enjoy a large screen spectacle of some kind. The wifi didn't work well enough for that, so we went out for the walk in the storm because I wanted to test out my new hurricane proof umbrella that I'd bought at Poiters of Kensington. It did very well in the storm and only turned inside out once when I got it caught in the elevator door. Amazing. When we got back to the hotel, Jerkymacjerkface was still jumping around and yelling, trying to convince himself that he was a 'rager' and having heaps of fun. The reality was clear to us, he was simply a tearful clown type.To block out all the noise from next door, we put on free-to-air TV really loud and went to sleep to the dulcet tones of an infomercial about a juicing machine that doubled as a funeral plan.
Best weekend away ever.

I have had the pleasure of staying with you many times and I always have a great stay. Thank you. The Novotel Wollongong is my favourite place to stay, easy to get to and safe underground parking. The food is wonderful and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. I will be staying again.

Visit here once again and enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room with stunning view. Car park is very small and smelly but excellent for the price!

It was great. We used our free night and we're upgraded to a king room. I loved the large bath tub and the breakfast buffet. Can't wait to return. I'll be keeping my eye out for special offers.

We stayed in a wonderful Ocean view room with a balcony. The stay was just what we needed a lovely relaxing break. Catherine at reception was excellent and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was special. All the staff are extremely friendly & helpful. The breakfast buffet was great.

Really nice rooms, really amazing view over the beach and great food. Had a bit of a weird experience checking in, where the man on the front desk kept answering the phone every time it rung instead of checking me in - which was kind of frustrating (maybe you need more than 1 person on the desk!), but after that it was amazing.

Rooms nice havjng been refurbed but all other areas need some love and attention- dated and a bit dirty. View from lift kn arrival eas fowl. So dirty. Looks like an old hospital from outside. Beach location good and reception staff super friendly.

The room was 5 star (corner room with beach view = amazing). But, the restaurant left a lot to be desired, breakfast was quite bad, tables still dirty and there were dirty plates mixed with the clean ones. Food was average. Also, prices for in room dining were pretty high. Reception staff were awesome. I definitely recommend the hotel but would say you should steer clear of the restaurant.

I last stayed at this hotel in December 2005 with my wife and 1yo daughter.
I decided to come back last week with my wife and my 12yo and 9yo daughters.
We stayed in an Ocean View Room with Balcony which was really spacious and very nice.
Will come back again soon.

Our stay as far as room and price goes was great. We stayed in the panorama suit for our wedding night. When I left the room to go to my wedding I requested the room be cleaned prior to my husband and I returning later that evening. During that time my 6yo sons iPad mini was stolen from the power point. I didn t think I needed to place it in the safe, however I was wrong and a heads up to anyone with valuables, ere on the side of caution, even when staying in one of their nicest rooms, lock all valuables away... when I spoke with the cleaning staff the afternoon I checked out, they denied locating the iPad.

Surprised how much Wollongong had changed. Appreciated the upgrade to a balcony room with a view of the ocean. Birds a problem as guests above were throwing food out to feed them, landing on our courtyard whilst we were trying to have a quiet drink. Reception staff friendly and courteous.

Perfect location, good food and lovely staff for sure. Rooms need a refresh. Maybe entire hotel in fact but what was disappointing for us was the room we stayed in. We had an ocean view room in on level 10 and asked if we can upgrade to an ocean view with balcony! Was happy to pay for it. They moved us to a room with a balcony but on level 5 and almost no view to the ocean! Room was not clean enough as well. Not sure if it worth the 760$ for two nights.
