The friendliness at reception, the little details in the room, ease of parking and access, comfortable beds, the bars and restaurant, all aspects of this impressive hotel were excellent.

Went here for a wedding, but was not staying overnight. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Place is adequately laid out. Probably my biggest complaint is the lack of a quiet space for parents with babies

I had a very relaxed and comfortable stay last Sunday night. The room was well furnished and very clean and tidy. The ocean view, especially early in the morning with the sunrise was spectacular. The buffet breakfast was very good. I would stay at Novotel Wollongong again for sure.

Visited music bar, pleasant area, good food not much atmosphere

Started off salty because I was waiting on the VIP carpet then the bloke calls me over to where he was at the other end of the counter. I say, is the carpet there for decoration and he replies, we can go back if you like?

I was staying for work and I found the hotel very comfortable and accommodating. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 10/10 was the price and speed of the internet which was very expensive for the quality.

I cannot fault this place! From the service to the rooms, if I could give more then 5 stars I would!

Booking process was easy, and flexible.
The service staff upgraded us for our special occasion and it really was the perfect addition to our night, we were upgraded to the Studio Suite and to say stunning would not be enough! The views, incredible! The shower and bath.

We are already planning our trip back!

The room is nice and clean. There was a beach opposite the hotel.

We had one of the best stay, with a delicious, thick steak with vegetables, The view from our room seeing the waves coming in, and the beautiful sunset, At the night it was so magnificent to here the waves rolling in

An older property but well furnished. If you are parking on the street, there's no elevator or ramp to hull your luggage

Hotel has got enough amenities to keep kids preoccupied. I especially liked the idea of the play area right where hubby and I can relax a bit and have a drink.

Access to the beach and other local features made a full holiday.

Easy check-in/out. Nice staff only the cleaning lady missed to replenish our toiletries.

Restaurant has a very decent food and excellent service.

Not bad, probably best in the gong. Bath tub was not attached properly and kept moving on the floor!!!

The Hotel itself is lovely, yet be aware that transport / parking will be an issue.

Rooms are fantastic. Balcony rooms have the best view! I do hate that after paying for your room you need to pay for wifi! Yet their budget hotels have free wifi. stupid if you ask me. Hotel restaurants are way overpriced! Cheaper to eat at one of the local spots. Close to beach, short walk from station. Will be going back again. Just armed with more data!.

We booked and paid for the room through the Visitors Centre in Wollongong. Unfortunately this caused a timing issue with computer records being transferred from one to another. But we were delighted that the staff were very pleasant in dealing with this, even to giving us free parking that we had been told by the Visitors Information Centre would happen, but this was incorrect..Check out was delayed due to records that could not be found verifying that the room had been paid for. Just a suggestion - closer information sharing between the Visitors Information Centre and the hotel could be looked at.

My son was staying here we went for a meal and were happy with the cuisine and the price

Have only frequent the lobby bar, nice place to have a drink with friends, occasional live music on weekends. Location is by the beach, so nice to have a stroll on summer nights.

rooms were clean and comfortable. Food great in the restaurant. The only downside was my hairdryer did not work.

From the moment we got to the Novotel the staff were friendly, happy and helpful. We staying in the Panorama Room 1002 and it was amazing! Could not fault it. This was the room for the Bride and Bridesmaids the night before the wedding and then the room for the bride and groom the night of the wedding.

I went there for a teachers conference. Food and service was amazing!

The hotel was great but couldnt sleep because of the club down stairs pumping music. Sound proofing was minimal...

Received a free upgrade ro a ocean view room with balcony - the view was fantastic and the room was very comfortable. A free drink on arrival and free parking were welcome touches to make the experience even more relaxing.

My husband and I were given vouchers to the Novotel by a family member for our 50th wedding anniversary.
Our stay was probably one of the most happy and relaxing hotel times we have had for a short break away, All the staff starting from confirming our stay through to us reluctantly leaving were so helpful, pleasant and well informed. With the amazing view we had from our room we chose to dine in one night. the meal was hot delicious and prompt, The breakfast buffet was amongst the best we have visited,

Attendwd a wedding. The organisation for the service was great and the party afterwards was great. The food was superb - best steak had for a long time and staff were on the mark all the time with drinks and help etc

We have recently visited Novotel North Beach during a weekend in August. We were group of 4 families with kids ages between 2 years and 12 years old.
We have enjoyed the stay alot. the hotel is clean (not very much but acceptable). the views are superber. i was on the 9th floor ocean view. the staff are very friendly and helpful. they have offered a room upgrade for one of us (free of charge) although he forgot to add his special request during booking.
the location is beyond all the measures. right on the beach with cafes and restaurants and parks within walking distance.
the buffet breakfast was very good. they also offer barista coffee with the breakfast.
the only missing thing, is an indoor heated pool. (they already have an outdoor solar heated pool).
will definitely come back again.

Our two nights were a $5 raffle prize I won and we enjoyed our stay, and thoroughly enjoyed the great beach view.

Good so far. Still a guest. Shower/Bath combination is an accident waiting to happen . especially with seniors. Great deal through Groupon

Nice room, good breakfast. Most of the staff were great other than one rude bloke at the front desk.

Rooms are clean but the hotel is old and tired and what may have been a great old dame once upon a time is in desperate need of some lovvin.

Windjammers seafood buffet $75 a head, food was poor quality and hot food dishes were cold.
Breakfest buffet all food was cold.
Would recommend the clubs and outside dinning.

Really disappointed this time around. My first stay was exceptional. This one did not measure up. I paid for an upgrade and received a partial ocean view and reduced from two double size beds to one queen size. It wasn't worth paying for. Breakfast had a good selection but the hot food was barely lukewarm. There was a wedding on Friday evening that played loud music until after midnight. It was directly below my room and kept me awake. The hotel corridors were also noisy with many doors banging all through the night. Door closers on the rooms might be worth investigating. Wifi was extremely slow. I ended up using my mobile data instead.

Paid attention to the notes we put onto the booking. We brought our baby along and they offered a portacot for us to use. Friendly staff. Across the road from the beach.

Amazing hotel with ocean view which looks amazing when you get up in the morning. Clean and no stains.Very nice bathroom and restaurants and facilitys we're good like restaurant, gym and pool.

Great food service and great place to stay. Amazing American style burgers, Great desserts at the front and comfortable seating if you re wanting to just relax.
Heaps of food places around as well.

Loved being allocated tenth floor room. Felt that the Monday night banquet was missing a bit of sizzle and need more staff or better experienced staff with clearing of plates. We rang and let the hotel know that we had not been charged for the banquet or the glass of wine we had. We were willing to pay. Possible staff processes need a little review about this.

I've already mentioned how loud the room next to us was and the constant cigarette smells coming into our room from the adjacent room,
When I complained to the manager on duty on the morning all he said was sorry and I should have complained to the night manager.
In other words bad luck.

Food from restuarant took 1 hr to be delivered.

Just finished a 2 day event. The staff were super friendly & helpful. The meeting room spacious. The real issue and word of warning is that post-covid you will have to pay $75 for 3 bread rolls, a small lettuce salad and cut up fruit for lunch. My advice - hire the room and skip the catering as you'll get much better value for money at the local shops.

Room was great. Location is even better. The guy playing bongo drums directly across the road on the beach was a downer. I am aware that you have no control over this, but you do have the ability to contact the local police as a 'noise complaint' in order to have him moved on.
Your staff should have done this well before it became an issue at 12.30am. Having called the front desk we were informed a number of guests had been complaining but it was left until it was a drama before anything was done. The complaint could/should have been made well before it became an problem.
A bit more situational awareness would be a good thing.

What a stunning hotel. For an older hotel, it has surely stood the test of time even among newer hotels. Michael at reception is so lovely and friendly. Great parking underneath the hotel and good facilities like a bar, pool and gym (not planning on trying the last two-winter/lazy). There's a cafe just outside the hotel that does epic b & e rolls at a fraction of the price so head there if your trying to be cost effective. I'm treating myself to the hotel breakfast tomorrow as its very highly spoken of.

I got room 921 and the view took my breath away! A corner, north facing room that has two side of glass windows facing the ocean. It's incredible!

The only downsides are: the noisy wedding reception downstairs that went well past midnight and the beds are incredibly soft so I've woken up with a sore back but that can't be helped.

All in all, if you're looking for a south Sydney getaway, stay here! It's so lovely.

The hotel room and staff were very good. Our room was clean with nice furnishings. However, the mattress was too soft on my side while firm on the other, maybe hadn't been rotated. My negative comment is that the hotel is noisy. Wedding parties push out loud music until midnight and even though we were on the ninth floor it was loud. Pepe's cafe has the speakers' volume on loud and even the bloke playing his keyboard in the lounge meant it was difficult to converse to the person nearby. I recommend double glazing on the windows. The hotel is in a great location.

City view room was over the front entrance. The constant beep from the pedestrian crossing at the lights was like torture. The windows block out no sound at all. Impossible to get any sleep.
Also very hard to read in the rooms as there are no ceiling lights, only small dim lamps. Worst hotel experience i have had

1 night stay on a long roadtrip from Brisbane to Melbourne. Amazing views from the balcony, comfortable beds and delicious breakfast.

Paid over $500 for a room was told parking was included. No available parking onsite as it was full drove around for an hour on the street to find parking had to park 25 minutes walk away staff couldn't care less

Great hotel in a good location. Clean with great facilities. Great view from the room.

Very cold in the foyer as you walk thru to Windjammers restaurant. Great views of North Wollongong beach.

Everything was first class except that we loathed the marshmallow bed. Your night manager on the first night though was extremely helpful in resolving this issue.

Nice place to meet friends. We had a couple of beers and some fish and chips. The staff were nice and were not to pushy. We went on a Wednesday night and it was not busy at all. Great view will go back again but hopefully there will be more people and more vibe

Accommodation was incredible but the seafood buffet was disappointing

Had a great impromptu weekend getaway here with wife and 2 kids after spey was cancelled. Room was nice enough and available on the morning in school holidays. Buffet breakfast was standard. Cocktails at the bar were nice. Close to some nice restaurants and cafes.
