Novotel Mandalay Hotel, Mandalay, Myanmar Review

Great spa....the rooms are nice but small particularly for two people. Breakfast and buffet dinner excellent.

Comfort and cleanliness like this is a much needed retreat from the busy surrounding area.

Hotel is dated on every level. Expect 3-star comfort although they charge as if they were a 5-star. Furniture is old, windows don t close properly, aircon never stopped in my room, towels look older than me, bathroom design is not user friendly.
On the plus side the breakfast is good, hotel staff very nice and the pool has a good ambiance (and view to Mandalay Hill) in the evenings.
Mandalay is lacking in good, new/refurbished hotels. Hilton looks better but there just aren t any good enough options.

Very nice hotel located in Bagan, a magnificent city in Myanmar. Too bad it is definitely dirty: the windows do not know how long they have not been cleaned, the tub in the bathroom still kept the strip of fat from those who had bathed before me !!! One sucks !!! The slippers in the room are those used by many other guests ..... Insufficient and poor courtesy set. Too bad, because the place is beautiful.

It is a little far away from noisy down town and you can see and feel the natural scenes.
The environment is so quiet.
It is near the famous landmark of Mandalay such as Mandalay Hill, the Palace and the world largest book.

Probably, one of the best hotels in Mandalay. I had great experience of St. Valentines Day, enjoying gym, SPA, swimming pool and celebration dinner there. This hotel has all facilities for high class tourists. Highly recommended!

The rooms are narrow and old and old but the view of Mandalay Hill from the pool is good.

It s probably the nicest place to stay at in Mandalay. It is quite outdated and the finishings in the room need repair but I believe that they re undergoing a renovation now that the property is under Accor, which is great. Staff are very nice and very helpful. Loved the view towards the palace - so much greenery and stupas. My favourite part of this hotel is the spa - what a beautiful setting and amazing treatments. Probably one of the best massages I ve had.

Mandalay presents an important part of the history of Burma but unfortunately the hotel is somehow. The marionette show that lasted 2 hours was actually only 1/2 hour and worse tables were cleared while we were dining. Really a shame because the setting is beautiful

Great hotel and great service. I deducted a star because the hotel was a bit getting old and a little fresh wind would certainly not bad. Pool area with views of the Mandalay Hill fantastic at night.

It is a very good hotel. You will be able to feel not only Luxury but also our ancient building style. It has nice swimming pool and a club where you can train your body to get a good shape. If you want to visit Mandalay Hill this Hotel is the best for you cause you can walk from the hotel.

It is a very comfortable hotel. With large rooms. The service is very friendly. A very nice spa. The worst restaurants.

I did not like the hotel much, much luxury in common areas and the rooms leave much to be desired. Old towels and minimal bathroom. I do not recommend this hotel

It was nice to have Japanese speaking staff
The net is filtered, but if you ask a staff who speaks Japanese, you can access it via a proxy ( ) Good !!

It is beautiful, especially the garden and spa. The hotel is fine but it shows the 4 stars. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace is very good. Defectillos: no telephone shower, small bathroom compared to very large room and a little cold throughout the hotel.

Old house, inattentive expensive service. Double price for laundry wash cashed.Manager not responsive.Reality. Do not book !!!

This is the nicest hotel we stayed at in Myanmar. We were treated like royalty upon arrival. The place is beautiful, the service is top notch, the food is incredible, but the best thing here is the spa. If you want to be treated like a king or a queen, then book a spa service. We did a 3.5 hour treatment that in the US would have cost $500 +, here it was $100USD

The team lead by Ms Win is really impeccable and superb. Also they have good clean room. Mercure Mandalay Hill has service of Sofitel and Swissotel equivalent. Must stay

The hotel is quite nice with a great location. Gym is very outdated. Only downside that they don't appreciate and recognize you as a guest with a name and even status but as a booking number only. As we booked via an agent we were basically told that even our direct spendings of a couple of 100 Dollars don't matter as we didn't reserve directly. The typical Accor arrogance. We arrived from Yangon where we stayed at the Melia Hotel, which was first class and you were treated like a VIP (same trip, same booking class but day and night when it comes to customer appreciation - Melia is the winner by far)

The best green space in Mandalay. . The gardens are beautifully kept. Friendly bar area, and the buffet dinner is excellent value - though only if you eat Western style! (Far too much on offer.) Hosting the Irrawaddy Literature Festival currently - a great event to put in the diary for 2020 too, it's a perfect venue.

It is really a nice place. It's also suitable for big ceremonies or events, they will arrange a great one for you if you ask them one. And it will be expensive for sure. Yeah, it's a nice one.

haven't stayed here, but if you go in and buy an hefty overpriced orange juice, you can use the rather cold, but nice, pool.

Room was epic! Food was good. I had a seminar here at the hotel venue. Everything was excellent! .. except the welcome drink, it taste like spicy green vegetables lol
