This is the basic version of the Novotel chain, so the rooms are not top notch and feel a bit uncomfortable. But the breakfast and the price more than make up for this. Ideal base to visit Maastricht, Roermoend or GaiaZoo.

Reasonable hotel with a very large flag of Andrea ruefully flying outside my bedroom window it was like a ghost story. Food very expensive and they charge you to park on hotel land. It's a long way outside the town of Maastrict.
Good hotel, neat rooms, excellent breakfast and delicious cuisine. Above all, nice staff. Twenty minutes walk from the heart of Maastricht. A good choice!
Lovely hotel, nice atmosphere and delicious breakfast. Lot of different things, they refill very occasionally. Room service is very nice and also nice staff. Walking distance from the station about 15 minutes but there is also a shuttle bus going to the centre once an hour!
Nice double bed without a gap between the mattresses. Delicious breakfast. Very neat. Great swimming pool to swim a few lengths for breakfast and yes, friendly, pleasant atmosphere So great.
I would like to thank everyone who works for the good care and listen. We were taken care of by a house fire at Novotel toppie toppie so compassionate. Thanks again for everything. Gerry & Chrit Wijnands
The hotel is around 2km from the city center. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the center. The shuttles leaves every hour. The rooms are dated and do not correspond the usual novotel standards.
Friendly welcome, clean rooms with good beds .. staff helpful and friendly. Nice pool. Breakfast was diverse. A pleasant and excellent hotel for a pleasant stay in Maastricht.
Chef in the kitchen was horrible yesterday morning around 9am. She totally ignored me when i was waiting for order my Egg fry. (Anyway it was one of the worst egg fry ever). I was standing there after I yield my turn to other person. But she totally ignored and pretended she didn't notice I was there. I felt this was discrimination because I'm Asian appearance
She pretended being normal, nothing happened It was terrible experience
Being able to book 2 nights fairly cheaply to visit Maastricht and Valkenburg during the Christmas period. Excellent reception, ample parking space (note, for a fee), shuttle bus to the center every hour. Food in the restaurant is fine, breakfast good but very busy. Mattresses are very firm, but after a remark at the reception an extra topper or comforter is placed on it.
Nice hotel with friendly hosts. The breakfast is very generous and there are so many things to choose. Every day fresh bread and salads, the coffee is delicious and the staff gives you a warm welcome every morning. It s very nice that they have a shuttle service to bring you to the centre of Maastricht. The centre can also be reached by foot, which is a 15 min. walk. The rooms are clean and big with everything you need (enough towels, shampoo and shower gel, a fridge, WiFi, a good flat screen tv, a Bluetooth box etc.). We ve had a nice stay and will come back in the future.
Great hotel with good, clean room and bathroom. Very hospitable staff, corona rules are well explained and handled. Highly recommended for a weekend in Maastricht!
Smoking in the corridor in front of the emergency exit looks like a smokehouse what a smell. Superior room minibar filled with 1 bottle of water no coffee maker no bathrobe. Novotel The Hague and Rotterdam much better
Hi there First of all it is important to note that the hotel is not at the level of 4 stars service. Very interesting hotel. People who give 4 or 5 stars to this hotel, may be the ones who are used to weird 3 or 2 stars village hotels or self-service camping vacations or staff of hotel:)).
Do not choose this hotel , If you are used to real hotel services such as bellboys, prompt and kind reactions from staff, good dining menu, in-house laundry, good cleaning, world TV channels, good english or multi-language, adequate professional staff, sufficient heating and humidity control, ready minibar etc..
I do not know the name of this style in hospitality sector but here you are mostly at your own. Your have to carry your own luggage, you have to follow up your laundry daily, you have to follow up cleaning, you have to buy things for minibar from hotel or from an outsource.
Rooms are not for three persons.
However, I have to say that wi-fi is extremely fast.
Prefer Novotel if you are visiting Maastricht for max 2 days for business or similar reasons.
Novotel Maastricht is at a level of modern lodging-house but not a hotel which can host international clients and families.
Hotel in a quiet location on the outskirts of Maastricht. At about 2.2 km walking distance from the st Servaasbrug to the center. There is also a hotel bus that runs to the center every hour. Varied breakfast buffet. Friendly staff at the reception and restaurant.
Excellent base for a weekend in Maastricht (about 15 minutes walk to the station and Wyk, about 25 minutes walk to the center). Not necessarily a romantic or atmospheric hotel, but for us it was completely good with two kids (6 and 8). Very warm room (I often find in hotels), but cool with air conditioning / ventilation system. Did not try the outdoor swimming pool (it was a bit chilly). The kids loved the extensive breakfast buffet and the play options (including Kapla, gaming, playing outside, soccer table) ...
Ideal base to visit Maastricht, especially if you reserve a bike at the hotel or at the station. The station is only a few minutes' walk away. Nice hotel with tasty and extensive breakfast, everything is provided for the children.
Great hotel with customer-friendly staff. Free bus shuttle that takes you to the center. Hotel a 20-minute walk from the center. Had a super weekend !! We will definitely be back.
Good facilities and excellent service. Used the taxi service twice in the night for only 8.50. Rooms are unfortunately very noisy. Lovely bed to sleep in, but then you can't sleep late because someone is stomping, running / screaming children. Door cupboards that are slammed shut or something. You can hear cleaners literally cleaning the other rooms. Pity. The air conditioning was very good, especially with this heat wave. It is a child-friendly hotel. As a young couple, I think you better sit in the center.
Nice hotel. D66 Maastricht has its permanent meeting room here for the general member meetings. And the elections are coming. So there is work to be done.
We got a free room upgrade on arrival. That way we had more space We found the hotel with room and breakfast to be very good. The restaurant where we went for dinner in the evening was a bit disappointing. I asked for a pink gin and tonic as an apero, there was no garnish for it. As a tasting I asked for a limoncello, it was not in the freezer. The hamburger was also dry and not spicy. The steak with the fries were very tasty, but little. The mango in the dessert was frozen mango. All small points, but this was a shame.
We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Polite and helpful staff, clean rooms, good quality breakfast (a larger variation would have been appreciated), proximity to city centre (walking, taking the hotel's shuttle, or even the city's buses). However, there are a couple of disadvantages, like an inadequate isolation or a hard mattress.
For business reasons, I needed to spend a day in Brussels and the next day in Dusseldorf. The hotel is the old Novotel line style, comfortable without anything you could call special. I would or I will use it again in similar situations, during summer it might be good for families as it does have an outside swimming pool
Nice hotel close to the center. Rented bikes at hotel. I wouldn't use it for whole tours, but going to the center was fine. Room was fine, clean. Very friendly help at the reception and the bar. Breakfast was good but too expensive ( 19.00). And we also believe that as a guest you should not actually pay for parking at the hotel.
Small, but neat room (4 persons, including two children on a sofa bed). Breakfast not very extensive but good enough. We were on a discount offer and for that money it was fine. Inside, the hotel is a lot more comfortable than you might think on the outside. A convenient place to spend a comfortable night in Maastricht for a little less money.
In my opinion, at most a 2 star hotel. The duvet covers were broken. The shower was broken and dirty. The staff was very friendly but unfortunately they could hardly give us what you can do as a tourist in the area.
The taxi company they work with has also ripped us off.
Nice hotel. We were there for the 2nd time. Due to the corona measures, breakfast was a bit cumbersome (and too busy, because everyone had to come at a certain time). There was also no intermediate cleaning, but you could change your towels yourself at the reception. Bed was fine. Playground, x box and a swimming pool with which the children (11 and 13) had a great time. Unfortunately the bath was very small and the shower thermostat was unstable. The temperature went from scorching hot to freezing cold.
Located within 30 min walking from the center of Maastricht, Novotel is a good alternative if you want to stay around. It has a paid per day parking, and a swimming pool. We booked a night and it was as expected, a clean room with all the amenities for a night (or a few ones). Due to corona, you need to reserve your breakfast and choose from a list what you want. You can also ask for some extras while on the table.
Excellent location. With car a few minutes from the motorway. Ample parking, free for guests. With a bike you are at about 10 minutes in the center.Large rooms with the necessary comfort.Bathroom is in need of renovation.Everything is spic and span
Nice hotel, everything in order. A number of employees were less experienced in the hotel industry. They did their very best. Despite covid 19 still a breakfast buffet, with gloves. This gave occasional crowds and queues. It is nice to be able to choose for yourself at breakfast.
Great hotel. Small double bed. Very thin blanket. Fortunately I brought an extra blanket. Elevator shaft makes noise / weird noises, if your room is next door. Shuttle bus is great. At the reception the telephone appears to have priority over customers at the counter who want to check in and out. Breakfast was great.
Good value for money. Friendly hardworking staff, clean room. Breakfast very good for Dutch standards (fried and boiled egg, bacon, sausages, etc, etc). Unfortunately a bit outside of the center of Maastricht, but I definitely want to come back here.
Recently been in this hotel, many pluses but also a number of negatives:
Cons: paid parking for hotel guests while parking is free outside the barrier. Breakfast was good but pricey for what you get.
Pros: Rooms were clean, nice that there was air conditioning in the room and a window can be opened. Service good if you want more towels (no cleaning during corona but we think this is more than logical.).
Location is good: close to center.
Pros / cons: Nice that there is a pool, not big but certainly good enough our children enjoyed it. Tip: maybe 3 times a day cleaning the pool (remove leaves) it looks a bit fresher and cleaner. We have seen that the pool is cleaned in the morning, but maybe do it again in the afternoon and at the end of the day.
