Great hotel and well located not far away of the main attractions of Edinburgh and shops, most of them easily to reach in minutes walking (only 5 minutes away of the nightlife area). Room was properly cleaned and all we needed was provided. The hall is big an you have excellent space either to chill out while waiting or just to have a drink in the bar (where they have a wide variety of drinks) which also is of a reasonable size (the bar) and plenty of snooker balls alike seats.
The staff at the reception and the bar/restaurant were awesome, helpful and always with a smile, they gave crayons and toys to our daughter what made her so happy and entertained for the rest of the day! They also have a wide menu and the food was really great.
Not to forget the swimming pool and the spa, and steam room they have but because we were in a hurry and just for one day, could not enjoy it; may be next time!
Hotel totally recommended it for everyone (even for pets) that has its thoughts to stay and visit this magical city (specially in Christmas!) for a while.

Room was very clean and tidy. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Staff very friendly. It was our anniversary and the hotel gave us a card and some free chocolates. An unexpected but very much appreciated gift! Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

The stay in your hotel with two nights' accommodation went satisfactorily.
However, I have a comment about the closing time of the bar.
After visiting the famous "Edinburgh Military Tattoo" we had no more opportunity to have a final drink in the bar.
After the end of the Tattoo we went straight back to the hotel, but due to the crowds we were at the hotel around 11 am. However, the bar was closed then.
We regret that the hotel does not take into account activities that are held in the city when determining bar closing times.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the castle and Victoria street. The breakfast is pretty good and the rooms are quite nice as well. The one thing though is that the rooms don't have air conditioning but have built in fans that barely work. This can make the room quite warm in summer.

Strong chlorine smell already in the entrance area. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired. - Silver fish, dust, heavily soiled carpeting, etc.
Staff very friendly and helpful! Breakfast okay, but nothing more!

Wouldn't stay here again or at this chain. Room was fine. We had a double bed and a sofa bed that could be used as a single bed for our three year old, not the most comfortable but fine. Toilet was a separate WC but was super small. I could barely close the door while trying to get in the WC. Didn't love that they don't have safes in the room. There's also no air conditioning, which I'm sure is fine generally but it's been pretty warm here so it would have been nice to have, again, particularly given the cost. Last thing which I wouldn't have expected was the iron is tethered to the ironing board which I assume is to prevent theft. Never seen that before even at 3 star places.

Location was fine. About a 10-15 minute walk to the old town. Not a lot of dinner options right near by but there are plenty of cafes with good breakfast options so you don't need to eat at the hotel in the morning.

Biggest complaint was the service particularly because of the cost. Finally before our third night staying here our room was cleaned. The second day they never came even after specifically asking the front desk when we saw it was not cleaned when we returned mid day. We had to wait at the front desk for fresh towels and my husband had to get more toilet paper from a housekeeping cart in the hallway.

On the third day, same story. We came back around 12:30pm for my son's nap and it wasn't cleaned. Finally, someone around 3pm knocked on the door to clean the room and I told them they'd have to come back given my son just woke up - ridiculous they were just coming then. When we came back that evening it was cleaned (we specifically went up to a housekeeper to tell her we were leaving for the afternoon). They don't replenish any of the coffee or teas, but give new towels and made the beds.

Room was fine, restaurant menu a bit boring but loads of choice within 10 minutes walk. However I booked this hotel as it had a pool and leisure facilities but they are closed for 3 weeks and at no point was I told this. Could have paid half the cost and stayed in the premier Inn next door which looked just as nice.

Second time staying at this hotel. Nice balance between price, quality of rooms and the facilities. It s well located and walking distance of most of the things you d want to do in Edinburgh. We always park and ride into Edinburgh because overnight parking costs are way too expensive and even more in other places. Breakfast is good and always look forward to it. Bar has a nice layout and staff are helpful. Would recommend to others.

Needed somewhere to crash for a business trip. Room was large, comfortable and clean. And despite being on the front corner of the hotel, quiet. Breakfast was good with plenty of options( no mention of poached eggs but I didn't ask so may have been available). Staff were very friendly and courteous.

So far so good. I've spent one night (out of 3). The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean.
Breakfast was well laid out, and tasty.
Only slightly negative point is that the room was a little warm for my preference and I couldn't work out how to use the air conditioning.

The facility is good. Location is good. We booked family room, but it's bit small for family of 4 (2 small children). There is no separated kids play area and it's part of lobby. We didn't get parking on site but hotel gave us discount coupon to use at a public parking area which is cheaper. Breakfast was great.

Good experience, clean hotel, friendly staff and great location. There was construction work going on but was within reasonable times described by the front reception. All in all this was a good experience that added to our experience of Edinburgh!

Very good with some criticisms. Staff excellent, breakfasts good. Whilst we were there the jacuzzi was not functioning and would not be for some time by the look of it being roped off. We swam every day and the clock on the wall was not functioning despite our pointing this out, until our last day. Tricky when you are on a tight time schedule. Paid for upgraded room - nice size and views but nowhere to hang wet towels, wet swimwear or indeed wet bathrobes in the open plan bathroom.

The hotel is nice and rooms are comfortable. However, during my stay they were undergoing some construction, with constant loud hammering and drilling. This was constant from 9am to 5 pm.
The hotel should have warned about this in advance so I could made different arrangement. A really bad experience

A well presented hotel, very clean and orderly.

Pleasant staff.

Varied and interesting breakfast.

Perhaps would benefit from air conditioning in the rooms as rather noisy with traffic noise etc with windows open.

Would certainly stay there again.

Nice hotel, clean spacious rooms, decent showers, shampoo and shower gel provided. The hotel has a small pool (not big enough to swim properly in), jacuzzi (could have done with being a bit warmer though), sauna, and steam room. All are free to use for guests staying at the hotel.

Great service, friendly staff. Very generous breakfast for the price as well and swimming pool/gym is great. Only complaint is the weights in the gym only go up to 10kg per dumbell, for anyone seriously into weightlifting this is far too light, so for the future i'm sure a heavier dumbell rack would be appreciated. The room was very clean and well maintained throughout our stay.

My husband, son and I were allocated here after having a cancelled flight by Easyjet. The staff was kind and friendly. They have a lovely pool along with gym services. The hotel even if not in the centre is easily-reached by tram. There are convenient shops close by for any last-minute necessities. Even if we had not planned on staying these 2 extra days and the extremely cold weather was a bit of an inconvenience, it was a pleasant stay, all the same.

The location of this hotel was excellent, easy walking distance from the Princes street and the train station. It benefits from recent refurbishment with thoughtful touches like many charging USB outlets. The staff were very eager to help and was able to help me charge my phone when I forgot my charging cable.

Stayed in better but good location. Bar lacked atmosphere but on both occasions we used it, it was late. No hesitation to return but car parking is very limited. Public parking is available close by

Comfortable rooms good facilities and helpful staff. Had some special dietary requirements and the chef came out of the kitchen to talk through our needs and then made something entirely bespoke to cater for my requirements.
