I was appalled with every second of my visit to this college. I am an adult trying to retake my maths GCSE. I was invited to attend an interview and small assessment (if not awarded a d in previous exams) which I did so when I got there I expected an interview. Everybody had to take the test which is fine however it wasn t even explained to us what we were doing we were just told to follow somebody who was also very abrupt and rude. We were spoken to like primary school children. After the tests had been taken we then had to speak to a lady regarding our results and why we wanted to do the course. Not only was I ignored but she had written down incorrect information about me on the form and offered me something completely different to what I went there for. I am aware the results may not have been up to the top marks however leaving school 6 years ago it s bound to have dropped and that s why people are trying to do the course. This should have been explained prior to people missing days at work etc for the meaningless interview/assessment. So after being told I couldn t do the course I wanted I was sat around for 30 minutes to then be told they had given us al the wrong forms and information. They had given us the 2018 stuff not 2019. I left feeling very disheartened and frustrated with the whole experience. 2 days later I received a letter saying congratulations on getting onto the maths GCSE adults course (which I had previously been told I couldn t do) feeling confused I rung the college to be told yet again they had got it wrong and sent out the wrong letters. Everything about this experience was awful. Rude stuff with no time for anyone. Sorry for the long message just feel it s important for people to know so they don t waist their time to!

Honestly I wouldn't recommend this college to anyone. I joint the college in hopes of learning and exploring the world of performing arts, if only that was what I got. My course leader acted very high and mighty. She also told me that if I didn't pass dance I would fail the whole course which I found odd considering I have no hand eye coordination and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't pick up the dance routines. I couldn't understand how my lack of talent in the dance section can dictate my passing or not. That's like failing another student because they can't sing, it just doesn't make sense. My singing teacher was rarely ever there and when he was he often just told the class to have fun playing music on youtube or would disappear and tell students to do as they please. I'm a large music lover and my main reason for joining the course was because their music course was full and I was told I could get singing lesson's while learning to act and I thought it was a great idea. I was wrong. My singing teacher was often away working in the west end on stage productions, so he was getting paid for two jobs while we were often missing lesson's. I can't mention one thing I was taught in the very few lesson's he gave our class. A week before we were due to perform on stage there was major upheaval since our singing teacher was trying to teach us music from The lion king, our dance teacher was also teaching us dance routines for The lion king while we were given scripts for a completely different performance and were yet to even receive roles. That was the last straw for me. I decided not to return to college for the simple fact that it was so unorganized and so wishy washy. I didn't feel motivated or excited to go to college and there was no way in hell I was going to stand on a stage unprepared for the higher level students and my peers parents. Honestly it would have just been embarrassing. I'm now looking for a new college to attend and hopefully I will actually learn something this time and be able to attend the course I originally wanted which was music. Producing music is where my heart is.

I have been here for nearly 3 years and I travel from Hayes, London to West Thames in Hounslow, London, this is not only good college its the best in everything tbh. Well every would see different experience in every college. Every college has opened to be studied in, now depends on her/ him how they go for it. This college is perfect at everything but sometimes it is hard to find some teachers friendly. I my self really enjoying the experience and made amazing friends. Well done West Thames !

Not an enjoyable experience at this college. I attended the specialist make-up course and felt like I didn't belong there. The teachers were rude - constantly made me feel like I wasn't good enough when I tried my hardest and favouritism is a major part (if you aren't a teachers top student you will not get paid jobs/good results). The teachers are very hostile and extremely judgmental which affected my education so much to the point I wasn't enjoying any of the lessons I was being taught. Absolutely no help on work/projects and not properly explained. For the amount I paid to study at West Thames I didn't feel like I learnt anything ideal for the so called "industry" they were preparing us for... I've learnt more from the internet and freelancing. Also no one supports students! ALL staff at this college are rude and heartless and would rather argue with you when trying to sort something out. They do not sort out problems (e.g. bullying, mental health issues) when they clearly have a policy online which they DO NOT follow. Is that not illegal? I know previous people have attended this college and have had to leave because teachers cannot deal with problems in the right way. They would rather have you leave than sort anything out. If you were thinking of applying here I'd change your mind. I had to leave this college because it was so bad and there are better options out there. Maybe this college should employ teachers with some respect for students and follow the so called policy's they publish online. I wouldn't even give this college a 1*. It's more a 0. Disgraceful.

I studied here for 4 years, i did the ND and then the HND for specialised make up and hairdressing, My first 2 years where great my tutors and teachers were all lovely, encouraging and postivie. My last 2 years doing the HND course were awful, the course leader is particulary horrible, as well as the many " teachers " who are in the industry, apprently teaching you its a dog eat dog world. I lost my passion for make up completly and actually gave it up for a while after a graduated. I felt picked on at times, and not encouraged at all. They put you down and there wasnt much postive influence from them, as far as i was concerned i was trying my best but that was never good enough. I wouldnt reccmoned doing 4 years at a place like this, you would be much better off doing a short course and gaining experience in the apparent " dog eat dog industry" on the whole the college is nice, but that particular course i would not reccomend to anyone!

The only problem is the students. Not Attending and lazy students just wasting resources. Until they fix the problem I would not recommend this college. Tip rules here aren't really rules they are "recommendations". So do what ever you want

The whole College's environment is hostile and petty. Most of the students are far more invested in creating drama and spreading nasty rumours than actually attending their lessons and trying with their work. Some of the students turn up to college to just chill with their friends and eat takeaways in the hallways. They mess up your timetables which cause you to fall behind in weeks worth of work. I had to retake maths and the teacher only showed up once in of the terms and in that one lesson they taught the exact same lesson they did previously. Although i was happy that i stuck with my course for the year and gained the qualifications i wanted, i left feeling very stressed and anxious. The only thing that redeems itself about this college is the learning resources they provide and the modern buildings. I wouldn't recommend this college to anyone for the sake of their mental health.

This is the worst college to go to, they mess up the timetables which then mess up your attendance and for those who get bursary wouldn't get the money they are suppose to get because there timetables are all mixed up telling you the wrong thing. TAKE MY WORDS OF WISDOM, DO NOT GO TO THIS COLLEGE AND STAY AWAY

I'm studying at west Thames college and doing health social care Lv2. The support is fine but I've been few days off college for a reason and now the teacher are saying that if u can't do the work this year go and find yourself a job. Think I'm only 17 and they're not helping, in other ways they're tell me " im gonna find u a job". Every single day I go to college I come home upset . I don't know what's gonna happen next..

Worst college for Specialist Makeup although i learnt alot with the Hair Department as the Hair Tutor was good. But the Makeup Department is awful, (i wont name and shame but let's say her name was A) my tutor A would sit in class with her feet up on the table & just talk about herself & how shes knows all these celebrities, i Didn't learn much & had to refer to YouTube quite alot. Alot of favouritism which encouraged people to be singled out. Tutor A had a habit of bad mouthing students to other students causing segregation. Also Tutor A would keep asking another Student to give a demo leaving the whole class shocked. On day one we were told "Only 1 or 2 of you will make it... The rest will end up on Makeup Counters or Avon Ladies" ... This was demotivating & negative start. Avoid this place - theres better Makeup Schools out there. You might pay a bit more but you will have a more positive experience & not feel left out just because you don't buy the tutor A an apple & tell her shes Amaaazing! The rest of the Makeup Faculty are not much better.

Worst experience of my life, did 2 different courses and in both courses the teachers were rude and hard to actually learn anything from. I ended up leaving both courses resulting in no qualifications. Travel and tourism staff are rude and patronising, forgetting they are teaching young ADULTS not children. Tutors don't know what they are doing and turn up late even though you aren't allowed to.. Its hard to actually want to go in to college each day knowing you aren't going to enjoy it whatsoever. If you want to enjoy getting up and going in each day, and actually learn things, choose a different college!
