A nurse employed an NCMC was recently arrested for stealing patients' personal information to open credit card accounts. Her name is Brenda Rodriguez, you can Google the story and it is on Channel 2's web site.

A couple of months ago Aetna sued NCMC and its CEO for $120,000,000 claiming the hospital violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and breached its contract with Aetna through a business strategy based on maximizing referrals and out-of-network billing.

Personally, this is not a place I would choose for my healthcare needs.

Went in to get a ultrasound that I didn't have to have. Registration was very misleading told me the total procedure was going to be $300 and then I get another bill for $360 for someone to read it. When I called about it, they said their was nothing they could do. I don't know if all hospitals run this way, but I totally feel cheated out of $360. I would not have gotten the ultrasound if I knew it was going to be almost $700. Then when I called, the customer service representative told me many people have complained about this in the past. Why aren't they doing anything about it? What is so sad is their is nothing I can do about it. They should have all cost up front so you know how much you are paying for a procedure, so you can decide if you want it.

I visited the North Cypress ER after spraining my ankle. The registration staff, nurses, ER physician and radiology technician that cared for me were great. I was in/out in less than 90 minutes from start to finish. Everything about my visit was efficient & I would definitely use this ER again.

This is an OUTSTANDING hospital. My husband was very ill, we went to the emergency room. Our wait time was less than 30 minutes before he was in a bed and being cared for. The staff was so pleasant. He was admitted and I couldn t believe how smooth the process was. All the physicians had wonderful bedside manner. The nurses and paramedical personnel were so kind. If you are admitted to the 3rd floor Michelle, charge nurse on days, and Mary, nurse on nights are beyond wonderful. Ronnie, an aide on nights was so good to my husband. I had no idea a facility could be so caring. Thank you NCMC.

This is the best hospital I've every been treated at. Went in as emergency with two serious infections, was admttied right away. Had four doctors on my case and they orchestrated my care as a team with the nurses to the likes Ilve never experienced. It was seamless. The care i received was phenomenal so much so that I am change all my doctors. This is a doctor owned hospital. I believe that is why the care was so perfect. Along with the exceptional care i received from the nursing staff all the technicians and transport staff were conscientious of my privacy comfort and dignity. if president Trump wants a hospital to model the other hospitals across the country on this is the one.

Avoid if possible! This would be a great location for doctors and medical services, except there is NO parking!!! The lots are ALWAYS completely full and you spend ages trying to park. I have come 15, 20, now 30 minutes early to park to no avail. Had to cancel my appointment. If you must come here, have someone drop you off.

Had my labs drawn several times in the outpatient lab and had great experiences every time. I'm not an easy stick and the different employees that have drawn my blood got it on the 1st try and were very friendly. I only had to wait a while 1x but when it is Good friendly service it's worth it!

I have made an appt for my daughter to see an ear specialist for possible tubes. I have been calling for days to change my appt and with several messages left I have not received a call back. They told me I need to register online and to call back for my login info. My original appt is tomorrow and at 8am the answering service is still on and nobody' answering. This is the worst customer service ever. If they are this bad now, I'm not going to any further to see how bad they treat us at our actual appt. taking my business elsewhere after easing all the other negative reviews as well

I have been a nurse for almost 30 years and have both worked and been a patient in a number of hospitals. NCMC is by FAR a stellar and stand apart Healthcare facility. I was impressed with the care I received from nurses, staff, and physicians. If possible, I will travel to Houston to North Cypress Medical Center if I need more surgery in the future.

I wouldnt use a diiferent hospital if I didnt have to. The staff is professional and considerate. Quick to find out whats causing the pain and quick at slowing it down until they can take compleate care of the problem. Only problem I found with the hospital? They brought me Corn Flakes for breakfest when I asked for Raisin Bran. So no problems.

I like the medical staff at North Cypress. I mainly interact with the nurses for a monthly infusion and they are always professional, kind and efficient. That being said, the front desk and back office, are not my favorite. I have waited as long as 40 minutes, just to check in. And the back office creates so many obstacles to getting them paid, that I have decided to go elsewhere. The problems have definitely been exacerbated since the merger. Thankfully, there are other options.

Dr. Bacon is absolutely the best ankle orthopedic surgeon around!! I came in with a very complicated and painful issue. Due to her tenacity and skill, I am now able to walk comfotably after almost 20 years of non-stop pain. She and her assistant, Jose, truly care about the whole wellbeing of their patients:)

This hospital is horrible. I ve been here for 3 days and I haven t been told what s wrong with me. The nurses don t check on the patients, I had one night nurse tell me she was avoiding coming in & checking on me she didn t come till 2 am to check on me. Dr. Zamora is supposed to be my dr and I haven t seen him once a different dr came in to talk to me for him only once. The GI dr will not explain to me what s wrong and walks out before I can ask any questions. I m constantly pressing the call button and no one comes in to see what I need. This is the worst hospital I ve ever been to. At this point I m going to refuse care and go somewhere else.

Excellent staff that were both professional and friendly. The procedure was thoroughly explained and I was kept updated on how long it would be before my procedure started. Monica my pre-op nurse was great and the staff (Nancy I believe) in the procedure room were professional and made sure I had no questions. The recovery staff were just as friendly (Bridget) and I felt very well taken care of. The whole staff made me feel special.
I have used Dr. Dennis Toland for a number of years. He is excellent I and will continue to use him if needed.

There are always complaints about anything. Hospitals are no different. The staff and doctors have many lives to try and help. Sometimes all at once. If someone was rude to you, suck it up you are one of many. As for me, the doctors and staff saved my life 5 years ago and I will never forget their time and effort.

Two separate experiences, both inept, both could have had serious consequences.

1) Went in for a sleep study, I was told not to bring anything, so I complied. They provided a mask that was too uncomfortable to sleep with. At about 4am, I had had enough... they tried to make me sign a "patient refused" form... I did not... I wrote a long note about how I was given wrong instructions, could not sleep, and there's no way in hell that I'd say I refused anything, when it was an equipment/tech failure. Rescheduled for the next night... took my mask, and my sleeping pills... went right to sleep.... all was well UNTIL.... I wok up unable to breath at all.... About that time, the tech came in, excited that he found the right pressure... I told him VERY CLEARLY... that I woke up because I couldn't breath... he never heard me as he was too impressed with himself...

2) Went to remote ER with respiratory issues, ER staff was awesome. HOWEVER... after being transferred to hospital the care ended promptly. I told my nurse several times that I could not sleep without a cpap... nothing, told the respiratory tech that I could not sleep without cpap... nothing... I realized by 2am (and not seeing my nurse since 11ish that I would not be sleeping that night. She popped in around 3, took my BP over my elbow (a no no), took my temp under my arm....(really?) and ran out of the room... again... ignoring my request for a cpap... by 5am I was pissed. At about 6:30a... she came into my room (btw, still not noticing my O2 hadn't been in use since midnight), saw my heplock was 90 out of my arm (she never secured it from the night before), knew she couldn't administer med and ran out of the room again.... After a while, knowing she wasn't coming back, I pulled the Heplock (IV line) out of my arm, took some photos... and waited... she never came back... when the morning shift came in, I was fit to be tied, demanded to be released...

Frankly... in my humble opinion... the opening of this hospital was supposed to be an answer to Cyfair Med Center's ineptitude... but frankly.... it's more dangerous now (in some cases), for the same reasons....

Keep your eyes open if you go, if your experience is anything like mine... you will need your wits about you.

The medical staff such as, Nurses, caregivers and doctors too many to mention worked above and beyond their duties. My mom was cared and loved by so many of them. My gratitude and appreciation could not express how well each performed their duty. Their, compassion leveled with knowledge in with experience has left me with "wow" and "awe". To all who works there, May God Bless each of you, continue to love your job as you touched many lives such as my mom, my family and I. Love and Light, Triny Babauta

My bill for a visit to diagnose pink eye.....$1249.00. I also received a separate bill from the ER doctor who saw me at HCA for...$302.00. I had not yet met my deductible so I'm paying 100% out of pocket. They couldn't give me any idea on costs before being seen. We NEVER go to the doctor or ER but I thought that perhaps this shiny new stand alone Urgent Care Clinic would be cheaper than visiting my local hospital ER but I don't think that is the case. I've emailed their billing department about this but am doubtful that I'll see any deductions. Over $1500.00 I need to pay to be seen for a simple pink eye rx. Absolutely insane. Companies like this should be ashamed and we will see more and more of us going to independent doctors and clinics. So, yes, they might help you but dang that bill stings way more than my pink eye ever did.

My son has had surgery there for the third time and this place has no idea how to schedule an OR. First he's IDDM which means he should be the first case of the morning. Following each surgery, I've brought this issue to the "attention" of the management yet it continue to happen. To add insult to injury and further risk to a diabetic patient, they don't seem to be able to start a single procedure ON TIME. The administration sucks up via their patient care personnel and acts like they are going to do something yet they do NOTHING. And forget that you can't park and that handicap parking is so inadequate as to violate the ADA Act yet they don't offer valet services for parking. If you value your family member's life and safety, this is not the place you want to be!!!!!

And it gets worse: his surgeon didn't write orders for his medications and didn't provide the necessary post op back brace; the floor nurse couldn't be bothered to get report timely from the PACU. The nurses were standing around the nurses' station talking, texting, tweeting, talking on cell phones and being generally loud and obnoxious; but not taking care of patients.

If you've had a bad experience, complaint to DHS, JACHO, the AG's office and CMS!!!! And don't forget to report doctor issues to the Texas Medical Board.

Been sitting the the er since 9am it's almost 3pm now. Basically ignored, keep being told they are waiting for a bed yet seen many other people go back. Stuck my mom in a cubby area and no body check on her for 3 hours, anytime I ask staff for an update on when she will receive care we are brushed off. I dont recomend this hospital unless you are ready to sit In pain Dehydrated for hours. If they are so understaffed they need to devert patients to hospitals that have the ability to help people.

I have never been admitted to a hospital until February 18, 2016. I'm writing this to express my gratitude to all doctors and nurses for the heart surgery that I received on February last year at this hospital. I spent a week in ICU and was very impressed with the facility and the employee's who were so professional and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone needing any type of surgical procedure

My son was taken to the ER for a broken wrist. From registering in the ER, to seeing the nurses, radiologist and ER doctor, we were taken care of so well. My son did have to have out patient surgery on his wrist and the experience was one of the easiest surgery experiences we have ever had. Everything was great from start to finish.

If you have a doctor that has an office here I would suggest finding a new doctor. Especially if you need them more than once a year. The parking situation here is a nightmare. They do have an expensive garage but it's very small and tight. I hate it here and can't wait to move on to a facility that cares more about its patients than nickel and diming them.

went into their walk-in 24 hr clinic on Hwy 249 January 2015 not knowing it was part of the hospital on Hwy 290. They didn't disclose there would be a copay as with a hospital but even worse, when i told doc i was in for bronchitis he said "i'm sorry but i can't do anything for you", proceeded to leave the room and a woman came in (nurse?) who took my vitals and handed me 2 rx's. The charge was $874!!!!! Unbelievable. My insurance actually paid (got screwed) for $711 of this and they want me to pay $65. I haven't decided whether or not I will. They are not only greedy their so-called "health care" is a scam and per my experience, they shouldn't even be in the health profession.

I was admitted with pneumonia in March 2016 for six days. Nurses and other staff were excellent. One more thing, the food is excellent. I can see the reason why they call this medical center the five star hospital. Did a pulmonary test the other day, the therapist (Reggie) was the most friendly person that ever performed this task. Highly recommend this facility if you unfortunately have to make a hospital visit.

Do not go to this Hospital! I went in for an emergency appendectomy. The first thing I asked is if they accepted United Healthcare. To which they replied yes. 2.5 years later I'm still getting bills from people who saw me that do not. The ER Doctor did not, the surgeon did not (although he did work with me and accepted what the insurance offered), the anesthesiologist did not, I think I got a separate bill from the radiologist, last but not least, I just got a bill from a freaking surgical assistant for $2300. More than 2 years later. I feel like the only person that did accept my insurance is the person that took my insurance info. We'll see, maybe I'll get a bill from her in a couple of years... You have been warned!!

My sister was recently in this hospital for 4 days due to an infection. 4 days of nothing but terrible experiences. In the ER the nurse left the needle in her bed and removed all the caps off the syringes with her teeth ( which you see in movies but that's not sterile and if her mouth would've touched the end of the syringe as the cap came off, imagine the chances of infection). Then a needle was left in her bed. As she was moved to another floor (med/surg) she had a good nurse during the day. That night she had terrible experiences with incompetent and rude nurses not understanding that she was a hard stick , which she made clear to everyone she came in contact with. They had a float RN on shift that night (which only came 2 times in 12 hours to check on her) when her IV went bad and she needed a new IV, the RN put a new one in, the new one started to burn and my sister's hand was turning red and she complained to the nurse that something wasn't right, and the nurse turned around in a very condescending way and smiled and said oh ok you want to go ahead and make me put another one, alright lets do it then i'll just have to stick you some more and put another one in. That's when I got the charge nurse involved and she was later transferred to another floor. During this whole stay, no one assessed my sister but once, no one listened to her chest or listened to anything that is required 2 times during a nursing shift. No one did bedside change of shift report. No one did hourly rounding. No one was attentive. Took at least 1 hour to get ice every time it was asked for, took at least 45 minutes to get medication. As a nurse from a different hospital in Houston, this was an absolute disgrace. I do not know if they have a performance improvement coordinator, but lord knows they need one.

I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO RATE THIS HOSPITAL WITH NO STARS, BUT IT WON'T LET ME!!! SO UNFORTUNATELY, I WILL GIVE IT ONE STAR!!!!!!!

DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!!!!!

My boyfriend came to this hospital with chest pains from a heart attack. Instead of being taken into emergency, he was taken to the registration desk where the employees took their time getting to him. When he was transferred to ICU after having a angioplasty, the 1st nurse was very nice. She said that the bed he was in had a mind of it's own and would go back down by itself. She said if it continued to go down on it's own, she would get him a different bed (this never happened). When the doctor came in the next morning around noon, she took one look at him and instantly looked down on him because he has a beard and long hair. She immediately told him that the heart attach happened because he wasn't taking his meds like he was to since he has a heart attack 3 months earlier. She didn't like it when he started getting upset with her remarks not knowing the truth. She actually turned around and said you don't have to be so rude and I don't have to put up with this. The doctor needs to go back to school and learn some bed side manners. After she came in, the day nurse came in and I told her I wanted the doctor removed from his case. While we waited for the new doctor to come in, we had some other issues as well. One of the monitors came loose and according to the monitor, he was flat line and not one person came in to see if he was ok.

Later that early evening the nurse came in and told us that he would be released to go home in 12 hours after he received a prescription. When asked why can't we get the prescription now and go home since everything was fine. He was stable and able to go home. The only reason the wanted to keep us for another 12 hours is so they could get more money. We told them we wanted the prescription so we could go home and we would contact the doctor that took care of him 3 months earlier. They would not agree to this. They said if we went home right then, we would have to sign a paper that we were leaving against physician's advice and that we would have to go to their doctor's office the next day to get the prescription.

Needless to say, we signed the paper and left. We then went to see the doctor that took care of him 3 months earlier to get the prescription needed.

DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!! THEY WILL STEREO TYPE YOU ONCE THEY LOOK AT YOU AND THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE THEY ARE BETTER THEN YOU ARE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A MEDICAL DEGREE!!!!!!

This rather small local hospital surely is a gem that should to not be overlooked if you live in Cypress and surrounding area. From ER services to diagnostic services and everything else, this place has it all - but it is much less crowded than most of the other hospitals in Houston. Friendly staff, modern equipment, a pleasant and comfortable place, no parking issues...absolutely recommended!
