Every year I look forward to coming down to that OBX and eating crab grenades from here at least two or three times a week. They are by far my favorite crab Dish Anywhere! Also I love the staff especially Kenny behind the bar he does a great job.

Yum. Some of the best fried scallops I've ever had in any restaurant. Steamed shrimp were great too. It's a small space so I bet it's slammed on-season but no complaints off-season.
Good experience, good food although mine was a bit cold in the middle, I can overlook that once. It seems to be a very popular place, long line but it moves quick, suggest getting there early.
Oysters were not chilled or even served on ice, the steamed shrimp was bland. We had high hopes for raw oysters but were disappointed
Crab grenades are amazing. You can really tell the chef cares about the taste and appearance of his entrees. A bit expensive, but one of the nest restaurants in Corolla
Wait staff was good and the food is great! A little bit of a wait but well worth it. Prices are a little high and seemed short staffed, but overall a good experience.
If you have to wait, check out the shops or go home and come back because it is well worth the wait! There was 8 of us (4 kids), the service was perfect the whole time! Never waited on anything and the drinks stayed full. I ordered the filet mignon with the marinated grilled shrimp skewer added and it was like heaven on a plate!! I literally let everyone try it because it was so good! Medium rare steak cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth! It's been a long time since I had such an awesome meal at a restaurant, they deserve a 10 star!!! The steamer combo was a huge hit for the rest!

One of the best seafood meals I have ever had. Just absolutely delicious. I had mahi mahi. My husband had mixed grill. The shrimp corn chowder was excellent. Everything was ridiculously good.
Back when I used to work across the parking lot from this spot, myself and my coworkers would hit this place for their excellent fare and "local's discount." But we didn't just order food for the discount... This restaurant has high quality food and quite a variety! There wouldn't be a week that we'd not order from this joint 3-4x. This establishment is one of a kind and hardly a chain. Decorated with local pictures and stories, this restaurant is very comfortable and often crowded due to the high quality of which it exudes!
Even in the off-season, this restaurant billows excellence! I highly recommend North Banks to anyone whom peruses through the Timbuck II shopping center -- heck, even anyone who just wants a great meal! You won't be disappointed!

Out of burgers a 2:00pm. Think they would go over to the store and buy more. Over priced.
Was there last week with my husband. Was instructed it would be about an hour wait for table. Was handed a lobster buzzer to inform us when a table was ready . After an hour we noticed other couples getting called in who have come after us so when I asked they said they have forgot to put are name down and it would be another hour wait . When asked if we could be next the hostes says sorry no. The hosts was extremely rude. I feel if a restaurant will not take reservation they should honor the appropriate wait list. Would not recommend at all.
One of the spots we go to at least once or twice every time we visit the OBX. Need to get there early or go for lunch as it often gets crowded. Sitting at the bar is another good option to avoid a wait. Steamed seafood platter is one of my favorites. Crab legs, shrimp and clams steamed perfectly! Bartenders are always great to talk with. Calamari and hush puppies were delicious. Family had the fried puppy drum fish, scallops, soft shell crab and salmon and all were excellent. Servings are big. Somewhat pricey but always feels like you get your money s worth. Will be back.
Amazing food. Nestled in the Tim Buck II complex. Get there early, we went right at 5 and by 6 they were on a 2 hour wait. They don't take reservations.

Food was absolutely outstanding, but service was very horrible. We sat at the bar and while one bar tender was doing it all, the other did nothing. He took forever to get our drinks, never took our order, and took multiple shots instead of helping us. His comments on disliking tourists and Buckeye fans (of which we are both) left a nasty taste in our mouths after a delicious meal. The food was outstanding, but for the price the service could have been so much better.
Definitely check this place out if you're in Corolla. They don't take reservations so you're probably going to wait a little. Still one of my favorite places and lots of little shops near by.
Very delicious food. Definitely try their crab cake appetizer. The staff is nice and friendly and the environment is very warm and welcoming.
It is pricy and crowded for what you get. Service was standard, wasnt bad nor friendly though. The food was just ok. We had to keep asking for drink refills or missing items that never arrived. It was a bit cold when we got it and flavor was a bit off but It was fresh seafood, rather than frozen. Good but not worth the price we paid (it was over 100 for 2 people---- appetizer, 2 soups, and 2 entrees NO alcoholic drinks and still over 100)
We went to North Banks for dinner on the last night of our Outer Banks vacation, hoping to cap off a great vacation with an equally great meal. It was a Saturday night and the wait was about 30 minutes - not bad because of all the stores to check out in Timbuck II. The restaurant is small and intimate, and we noticed how complete strangers seemed to make friends with each other perhaps due to the close quarters but good atmosphere. My wife had the blackened Mahi, I had the seafood pasta, and both of our kids had the popcorn shrimp. We also had steamed peel n' eat shrimp as an appetizer; needless to say all of the food was excellent. The seafood was cooked properly, just to the right 'doneness' and seasoned perfectly. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience all the more enjoyable. North Banks will definitely be on our to-do list for our next trip to the Outer Banks.

Great Experience! The restaurant is very small but we had 10 people and they pulled 2 tables together. Server was unbelievable. She didn't write anything down. She remembered our entire order.The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very lively. We highly recommend
Pricey but the food was good and our server was great despite being knee deep in the weeds all night. Kids menu was weak. Dessert menu was weak as well.
My favorite cozy raw bar in Corolla for almost 20 years - especially in Fall & Spring. Cannot go wrong with the Steamer Platter, or any of the LOCAL catch.
NOTE: it is COZY! In season - quick seating at the bar for 1 or 2, otherwise show up early or plan on waiting. Off-season - generally short or no wait.

The food was delicious, one of the best filet mignon I've had in a long time,the salmon was perfect.
Five-star greasy spoon and bar. We came for lunch on a Sunday and had some very fresh and very hot fried calamari that seemed like it went from fryer to table in under 3 seconds. The snapper bahn mi was not really bahn mi in the traditional sense but the snapper was excellent, it was very juicy and had a great char to it. My husband enjoyed the waitress' recommendation of shrimp BLT wrap and the fries again seemed like they went from spud to fryer to table very quickly. Our waitress was professional and accommodating of our time constraints.
Stopped in to have a brew with family while wives shopped with the kids.
Then found out my kids weren't accepted. Then told my wife and I that kids are not allowed to stand behind the bar by the tables.

My 2 adult children and I ate there on April 10, 2018. I have eaten there 4 other times in the past 14 years. I have to say, this experience was the finest ever! Our server, Kenny, was THE BEST! His lobster/shrimp corn chowder award winning chowder was a highlight of our meal. We ordered many apps and salad entrees. The scallops on the skerwer were to die for. (wrapped in a robe of bacon). The tempura fried crab, with asian slaw and pickled ginger was our absolute favorite. Enuf to make an entree. We ordered so much food! We were all suffiently filled on the 3 apps we ordered. We had to have our salads boxed to go. Excellent food and service. (We went on the "off season", so of course service will be better. Just ask for Kenny. Tell him "Patrice" sent you!)

Well we usually love coming here, I asked the host if they made oyster shooters, he said yes, we were just going to have drinks and a few appetizers. There was no room at the bar, there was 5 of us, so he sat us at a table. When the waitress came, we told her what we were having, and she said the tables were just for those having lunch, and we would have to move, well we moved out the door, I guess our money for drinks and appetizers was not good enough. Needless to say we will not be coming back, very rude.
Pricy, but it was the only place open. Waitress was rude but once it was time to leave she was much more polite. Decent food though.. not really kid-friendly. Nice bar.

I had some oysters but it wasn't the local ones since they sold out but malpeque oysters from Canada were quite good.
Salmon was also great. Cooked just the way I like it and glaze was a nice touch.

Had dinner there tonight. Hostess was efficient, fantastic and friendly. Wait time was exactly as we were told. Food was incredible...best steamed clams in town. Crab cake appetizer was 100% crab...no filler. Filet cooked to perfection and the lobster tail was perfectly succulent. Run don't walk to this restaurant.
They don't have to have such high standards at the beach but they do, and it's amazing every time. Hospitable staff too.

Very nice restaurant. With during our april vacation. It was great no crowds. My son and I had a great dinner from drinks, appetizers to a very good meal and dessert. Everyone who services us was great. The bartender make us some real good custom cocktails. We will be back on our next trip to OBX. Thank you for a very nice time.

This restaurant is amazing; the attention was very friendly, everything was very clean, the waiters were very helpful, the food was spectacular, an incredible taste and above all very fast, I recommend it 100%. Their prices are fair because the food is very tasty and of high quality.
Great atmosphere and food - doesnt feel touristy and the food was terrifice - we had fried oysters, crab cakes, clams, shrimp, and crab legs - all terrific!
