Normandie Farm is a beautiful and elegant restaurant perfect for special occasions. They have lovely rooms for celebrations. Their delicious menu keeps Normandie Farm first in my memory for Mother's Day, holidays and Birthdays. Thank you to their staff for some really wonderful events!

We go to the bar area when Terry Lee plays keyboard. Lots of fun. Love the appetizers. We make a meal of a variety of essentially small plates. Favorites are crab and avocado salad, loaded potato skins boats, and spinach and mushroom quesadillas.

I used Door Dash It was cold and I ordered an onion soup and some popovers. This was of the worst meal ever. The popovers were overcooked, and dried. The only one who enjoyed them was my fox, he is not mine but come now and then to check what's on the menu. I admired him to eat those because they were really bad. Over $7.00 for two popovers over cooked and so dry, seriously? I have a great recipe if your chef needs one.

Then I ordered an onion soup. I am French and I am a good cook. I was just lazy that night after a long day at work. The onion soup was reeking flour. They made it with croutons. I mean seriously? You slice baguette or country bread but croutons? Not sure on which planet they were coming from.

I always wanted to go to Normandy Farm. I just changed my mind with that pathetic order of onion soup and popovers (there is nothing French about popovers but I tried) NEVER AGAIN.

This restaurant has phenomenal food. Loved the clams casino. The watercress and endive salad was delicious too. A very cozy and charming place. Looking forward to going again.

My family and I came here for the Thanksgiving buffet dinner after making reservations for 6:30p. We came 15 minutes early and when we checked-in, the host told us it would still be a 10-15 minute wait. Because we had a party of 9 and it was very crowded (despite reservations??!), we said we wouldn't mind sitting at separate tables and the host took note. While waiting, we noticed parties of 4-6 people were getting seated. At first, we thought they were on the check-in list before us but we realized these parties that had arrived after us. We pointed this out to the host and he claimed ignorance, saying he didn't know what 'separate' tables meant. If he hadn't known, he should have clarified! After all this, we were virtually the last party to sit down at 7:20p and we were left the buffet scraps to clean up. The platters were partially empty and not refilled throughout the evening.

Also, while we walked to our table, we noticed that the tables seating 4-5 people were the SAME SIZE as our table. So it didn't even make sense that parties were seated before us. The food was subpar and the service even worse. We were never asked if we wanted something other than water to drink and the server waited for our plates to stack up before they were cleared.

We felt discriminated against due to our ethnicity. All the parties who were seated prior to ours were Caucasian. It felt like the host and the managers wanted to get the other people in as soon as possible and we were the last priority. There was no apology, no recognition that we were seated 50 minutes after our reservation time! We ate at the same time as the employees and they were cutting in front of us to get food. This is unacceptable and unheard of in the service industry. I do NOT recommend this restaurant due to their lack of professionalism.

Food was ok but not exceptinal. The singer they had on 7/3/2020 was awful. He was a detractor from the experience. Sang almost every song our of tune. The setting is really beautiful and they have good social distancing space. Bring hand sanitizer to wipe your hands after you touch the menu. It would be better if they has paper menus they could throw away after being used.

Expensive restaurant with average food...
We visited the restaurant three times - dinner, brunch, & Mother's Day brunch. Now, I've decided to write.
I don't think they have any formal chef, since the food taste very average. Desserts are right out of box. The service is above average, and that is why I gave it a 3 stars. It is super pricey for what you get. We went for a brunch. We were not impressed. We were invited for Mother's Day brunch. The brunch was very much the same as Sunday brunch, but almost twice as expensive. The brunch menu says one thing, but when you go they offer something else. I went to the dessert table. Very disappointing looking table, every visit. Beside eggs benedicts, I did not see any breakfast related dish. No waffles. No pancakes. But a lot of different kinds of bread!

I feel like this restaurant is riding on it's reputation. I had not been here for several years and after this visit probably will not be back. The building itself is pretty, if not a bit dated. Inside is very nice as well; the food, however, was very mediocre. Everything was kind of room temperature, which made me concerned about food borne illness, and everything was super salty. The popovers, which they are known for, were very good.

This is a quaint upscale French restaurant in Potomac and we finally came here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The place was quite busy with a few private events going on. The main dining area had a few groups having dinner. The restaurant is a rather rustic looking house that has the feel and decor of the '70s. While that is good, I just wish they could carry out some upgrades so that it has a more upscale and polished look to justify the price on the menu!

Other than that, it was a great evening. Food is excellent - all our dishes were top notch and it was food heaven tasting all the dishes on the table. The service was between good and very good - between attentive and semi-forgotten states.

We had the Escargots for appetizer - great flavors and cooked just right with a sliver of crouton to go with it!

For main course, we had Filet of Beef Wellington, Brochette of Beef Tenderloin, Escalope of Veal Oscar , and Roasted Filet of Chilean Sea Bass.

All the meats were cooked just right and were moist and tender!
The puff pastry of the Beef Wellington was crisp and savory.
The Sea Bass was buttery and full of flavors :)
The crab with the veal was a lovely combination in the Veal Oscar.
Even the rice of the Brochette was a nice complement to the main dish!

The main course portions are quite generous - an Americanization of the cuisine :)

A true local gem and we will definitely be back for more.

Not impressed at all. The caviar is cheap and left my mouth blue. The oysters were dry at 1pm for brunch. The "prime rib" was absolutely not USDA Prime and overcooked. Will never go back. Black's is by far a better brunch!

Very disappointing. Despite reservations and making it very clear we had a special needs adult, my niece, with us we waited over an hour to be seated and even after waiting did not get the table we requested - specifically bc of my niece and bc it would have allowed us all to sit together. Instead we were split into 2 tables.

She is smarter than the rest of us so when she got tired of waiting she laid down in the middle of the dining room leaving my brother to spend our entire visit standing over her. I'm not sure he ever ate.

It was.a disaster which should never have happened because we called multiple times to explain our situation - large group, special needs person, physically disabled person and let them know the exact table we needed.

I called the next day to speak to the manager and he did refund about 1/6 of the bill. I'll leave it to you to decide if that was adequate.

The Eggs Benedict was cold but a waiter did bring one from the kitchen. The food is standard brunch buffet. Nothing special although my mother is addicted to their popovers. I can't comment as I try to limit bread.

The entrance is very pretty but the dining area reminded me of any hotel banquet hall. Very generic.

With the exception.of the hostess who needs to find a job better suited to whatever skills she may have, the staff was attentive and extremely nice. They are the reason for the 2 stars.

I can't think of any reason to ever go back.

Very good food. The desert is a little bit sweeter than I like. All the food are very fresh. I will recommend anyone to go there. Especially Sunday Brunch, make sure you have a reservation.

Went for the Easter brunch buffet with my parents and husband. The spread was pretty good but not really anything to writes home about - especially considering the price. Service was pretty good and the popovers were tasty

Excellent up country French food in a beautiful and rustic setting. Attentive but unintrusive staff had the meal go off without a hitch. Didn't have a chance to try the lounge, maybe next visit. Reservations highly recommended for a weekend dinner.

A place most everyone still dresses up in suits and heels to go to dinner & drinks. Popovers, with raspberry spread and whipped butter, the best part of the meal. Lots of seafood options, as well as French style entrees. They have Sunday buffet and rsvp holiday dinners. The place still feels and looks the same of 30 years ago. The lounge is classic with live music and a small dance floor with weekly weekend entertainment. The crowds are mature and everyone is friendly in this reserved atmosphere.

Old style elegance in food and service-prices are surprisingly reasonable.. spoiling ourselves with wonderful dishes all the many times we ate there..fabulous pop-up breads. Why wait till Mothers Day or a birthday or anniversary? Spoil yourself any time! Rare find was Beef Wellington done masterfully. A fun food to play with is the cheese stuffed whole baked artichoke .. large and delicious. Delicious desserts and after drinks. We like to dine in the formal main room then adjourn to the lounge for dancing and music if it is not too crowded and only just busy. Same great service with good sounds and separate dance floor. It certainly is worth the drive from Tysons and Virginia.

This is a timeless place. French food and the most amazing popovers. They have an excellent Sunday brunch with an omelette station, several types of meat, and various other brunch dishes. It's a cozy place with old world charm and good food. Definitely caters to an older crowd and not the hipster fare. Great for an anniversary dinner as that's where I took my wife for ours.

We went to a special event there, and the staff is very friendly. The place is quite old, perhaps even historic. I think it might even have the original carpets, which apparently have not suffered the abuse of cleaning.

Incredible brunch spread. Everything from breakfast favorites, cheese platters, and oysters! The staff is the perfect combination of professional and warm. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend! I love the fine dining experience! Tardad was my waiter, and hes adorable, precise, and I just cant say enough about how he impressed us!

Terrible terrible terrible. .. The owner charges 20 percent gratuity for large banquets and get this, the poor waiters may see only 2 percent of the 20 charged! Unbelievable please folks if your looking to book for a large intimate gathering or cooperate go somewhere where they actually pay their staff for their labor!!
I felt so disgusted when I learned of the tipping practices here that I made it my businesses to report Normandie farm to the State of Maryland's labor and licensing.
This iscompany is damn near robbing their employees and making the poor waiters pay the wages of the Bus boy and food runner by demanding the servers to tip out 65 percent of their gratuity earned.
I'm applaud and embarrassed for the owner / chef Cary Prokos, it's a shame you live comfortably while your own staff Carry tge weight of your payroll. I sure hope karma teaches your greed.

Had my bar mitzvah here as a kid, as well as plenty of mother's day, father's day and birthday parties growing up! That said, I was happy to hear about Margey's -- live music and dancing almost every night! I'd thought the piano area was just for kids to play hide and seek whole waiting for a table but the place really comes to life! Rob Patrick brought a real life to the place singing Sinatra and showtune classics. Definitely will come back!!!

Buffet, good selection of breakfast items, breads, salads, entrees and deserts. Nice decor. Disappointing as everything was not as good a standard cruise buffet. Poor value, subpar service, not going back.

The most uncomfortable chairs you have ever sat on! The brunch buffet is impressive, good variety and we'll prepared, but you need to have a good appetite to justify the prices they charge.

Excellent tasting food and a huge assortment on the Buffet table. Friendly and accommodating staff. I spent the time savoring the company (family) and the ambiance. A "must attend" restaurant with the very finest.

No even a omelet station. Good variety of desserts. At $30 I would think it not worth the price. Waiters had a good swagger. My last visit there!

We decided to do our anniversary dinner here... BIG MISTAKE. It was our first time here and decided to do our anniversary dinner with our kids for the first time (they are 10 and 14 years old). First of all they had plenty of empty tables in the center of the room but they gave us a small table for 4 all the way in the corner next to the kitchen. They spot was the worst, staff going back and forth was very distracting and noisy, we made reservations specifying it was for a special occasion, our anniversary and they gave us the worst table possible. They have a section that is more private with a big fireplace and it was empty but they didn't put us there. My son ordered the New York steak and it was the toughest, worst quality steak I have ever tasted. A steak from your local Giant would have been more tender... seriously the worst steak ever. My daughter had the mac n cheese and she took two bites and couldn't eat any more because it didn't taste like mac n cheese. I tasted it and it was not that great so I can see why she didn't like it. My husband ordered the crab imperial and I had the stuffed grouper and they were just okay. Nothing to rave about. The desserts were good and that's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. Service was good... waiter was fine and food came out timely. We spent over $200 (we ordered wine and appetizers) but the food wasn't worth it at all. Never going back. I can't believe people think the food here tastes so good. It's mediocre at best. I'm guessing the reviews are not all from true customers. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I'm sorry to report that our experience here was not pleasant. My husband and I reserved this dinner for a special occasion and planned it months in advance. We had such high hopes and were sorely disappointed. The food was completely bland, not just one or two items, but everything each person at the table ordered! We spent $200 on 3 adults and a child, which I don't mind doing when the food is good, but this food was completely sub-par. Just on my dinner plate alone, the scallops I had were cooked perfectly but had no seasoning and the mashed sweet potatoes literally had nothing in it- no butter, no salt, nothing- but what it did have (to make it look fancy?) was a potato chip sticking out of the sweet potato mash that was so stale I could bend it without breaking it. I am so disappointed and embarrassed, I hope this review saves others the trouble and money.

We have been going to brunch here for years and it is the best one in the area. A tremendous amount of high quality food at a reasonable price. The always have
excellent oysters and clam on the half shell and smoked salmon that is smoked in house. Excellent eggs Benedict and land tarragon. A very nice trifle and chocolate mouse for desert. If you sit near a window there is also a nice park-like view.

A very... unique place.

A very... unique place.

The decor is straddles dated and historic. The result is what feels like a dated church with big fireplaces on either side and decoration befitting a community church hosted murder mystery dinner at a mansion of a long passed Molasses tycoon.

It s an experience, in a this place is interesting at the very least type of way.

Decor was rustic and pleasant. Food was passable (chicken was dry, pork was dry, everything else was just fine). Worst thing was that there were so many random ants on the table. I find that a bit inexcusable, especially since they occasionally got into the jam/on my plate.
