The Nittany Lion Inn has a wonderful restaurant that always impresses. The food selection is excellent and both the preparation and presentation of items is unmatched in this region. Although prices reflect this attention to detail, for a nice breakfast or dinner, the NLI is completely worth it.

Staff is very courteous. Floor plan is a little odd but hallways are labeled well. Rooms have a decent amount of space and well-kept, but they are due for a renovation. Specifically, the carpets look and feel old.

There were ants in the buffet food and even after being told about it no one did anything about it. Do not eat here. Over priced and crappy being marketed as traditional. No, it's just old and dumpy.

Awesome, beautiful historic hotel and it's on campus. The restaurant is very good (not cheap) and the bar is a fun place. Everything on campus and downtown is within walking distance of the NLI. The only small downside is parking; you can expect to park (free) in the nearby parking garage. There is ample handicapped parking closer to the NLI with placard.

I was at the Nittany Lion in for a professional event, so I can't comment on the rooms or hotel service. However, the conference rooms were clean and well organized, appetizers were very good and all employees I dealt with were friendly and professional.

Beautiful atmosphere and great history but it basically ends there. Rooms are fairly standard and the bathrooms are bare minimums. The showers are small, dark, and it took 10 minutes for the water to get warm (I thought the hot water didn't work and took a cold shower only to find the water warming up as I was finishing up). This is a good location if you have business on the north west part of campus but pretty remote for anything else. The event spaces are pretty good but some are hidden through a series of mazes.

I wish I could rank this better because the staff is pleasant and it really is a beautiful place. Some updates would make this place wonderful.

Just amazing! The rooms were lovely and the customer service was exceptional. I enjoyed a wonderful dinner and two banquet evenings with tasty h'orderves. The hotel was very clean and centrally located to most everything by foot. This is a must see and if your budget affords it, must stay, when in State College, PA.

Maybe instead of eight people working the door, direct some resources to improve computer systems/logistics. Credit card and room key systems were down during check-in. Over-charged during check-out. Room key did not work to exit parking garage. Otherwise, fine establishment.

The reason I give this place four stars is it once was a four diamond rated hotel. Covid-19 times turned it into a student residence hall. I worked at the Inn for four years (2013-2017). Learned a lot about the old expression..."team work makes the dream work"...witty culinary pun scraps about VHS raps...this hotel is 'questionable' haunted...the history to this place inspired me to be a aspiring writer. Many rich and famous people have stayed and eaten meals at the Inn. The most memorable guest this chef de parite got to cook a meal for was James Paul McCartney (2015). Witty English breakfast puns by a Beatle actually happened at this hotel and the morning shift got a real kick out of it. English speaking people from England speak well.

You get more than value at the Nittany Lion Inn. This colonial style Inn is beautifully positioned on Penn State campus and once you step in the electrifying atmosphere will pleasantly surprise you! Although the hotel was very clean and it has all the amenities one might desire, the best part about it was in the caring, friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff and guests! Perhaps it was exciting and vibrant because I am a World Campus student, but that does not explain why the people were so genuinely nice and accommodating. If you are looking for a memorable experience rather than a hotel stay, this is your Inn.

My boyfriend is a PSU alum, so he couldn't wait to stay here, and I'm sorry to say we were nothing but disappointed from the minute we pulled up.
The valet was so incredibly disorganized, they were legit just standing there, taking no action to actually valet the cars. To get your car to go to dinner or check out, there was no call ahead option; just go downstairs and have to wait 15-20 minutes. So incredibly inconvenient! Then, the guy didn't even hold the door open!
For the room: the heater made loud, whistling noises all night long which wasn't very conducive for a good night's sleep.
A fire alarm went off early in the morning, and there was no mention of any apology from anyone in the staff.
I will NOT be staying here again.

I paid for a medium prepared steak and fine dining experience and received a very well done steak and diner experience. When the waitress came to our table to ask how everything was, I told her not so good. She agreed that the steak was very well done and so offered to tell the kitchen. When she returned she said we could order a dessert on the house. We had a show to go to at the State Theatre and had to go with the flow. Never mind that a steak is five times more expensive than a dessert. The dessert was delicious. Most disappointing was that the maitre d' never came to our table to apologize. There were only a handful of customers in the restaurant.

I really like this hotel, this is an old-fashioned hotel, but it is very clean, the staff took care of it very well. The hotel is very close to the 0 area, and the Soho area is also nearby, so you can do a lot of things on foot. Great stay experience. There is no mini-drink room in my room, but there is a room in my friend, I don't know why, but OK, I think if you don't have a room, you can ask them.

The staff were very professional and the facilities were immaculately cleaned. The food for the event I attended was very disappointing, cold bacon and eggs, absolutely no coffee creamer (unless you count milk.)

I stayed at the Nittany lion inn while on an on-site internship recruiting effort. The service was exceptional, the rooms were comfortable rooms, great on site dining was very good. The location being right on site was a big benefit. I will be staying there again and would recommend to anyone visiting PSU Main.
