The aquarium is a very nice building, and traversing it is a lot of fun (such as the huge spiral walkway in the middle). They didn't have any large creatures, but the ones that were there seemed healthy and happy. It was a treat.

Nice place. But it was really lower than what I expected. It is small compared to other aquariums and compare to the tickets price. And there is no much activities to learn about the marine life and creatures. One visit of 2 hours is totally enough, and if you don't have kids you will be done in less than an hour.

Smaller than I had expected in comparison to Baltimore or Atlanta Aquariums so it doesn't take long to see all the exhibits. Kids loved the touch tanks. The downside was the large crowds there on the weekend.

Very cool aquarium! We really like the set up!! Lots of fish to check out too. Love the penguins! Can be a little over crowded at times, but that s Boston. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the sea life.. Over all, I definitely recommend to anyone looking to check out a neat/good sized aquarium in New England!

Had a great time seeing the barking seals, and the little blue penguins, and the HUGE amount of different types of fish! Also make sure you are on the lookout for the 89 year old turtle named myrtle!

It is ok. Not that big for the money you are paying. I have seen many bigger and better aquarium, like Chicago. This is small and tickets are on higher end. You can visit it once if you are in the city. Nothing special, just OK.

Be prepared to mortgage your house for 2 hours of so-so entertainment.

Update: I downgraded to 1 star from 2 after seeing this place somehow has a 4+ star rating. How is that possible?!!!

The touch tank is pretty cool, but insanely crowded. The exhibits are just... fine. The main fish tank is breathtaking at first but the grandeur wears off in 15 minutes.

I don't dislike like aquarium itself, the deal-breaker is the unbelievable cost of going to this place! My wife & I brought our 4yo and 1yo daughters. Between parking, admission, storage locker, 1 cheap souvenir from the gift shop & the token picture keepsake: WE SPENT $300! We didn't even eat there!

Needless to say, we'll be...cherishing the memory of our visit for quite some time. We won't be back for years if it's going to cost hundreds of dollars for 2 hours of luke-warm "fun". A total ripoff in my opinion. I'd rather buy a fish tank...

I invited my nephew who was visiting from the Netherlands to go a whale watch with NeAq. We went found ourselves on Stellwagen Bank in pretty thick fog and were thrilled to meet up with a huge female humpback who was apparently also happy with our company. She kept on circling around the boat up close and personal. It is daunting to be so close to an amazing and intelligent animal. The staff were wonderful and the scientist on board extremely knowledgeable.

Looking forward to going again with my grand kids!

We parked about 2 miles away from the aquarium and walked. We wished we had brought bathing suits for the kids. They had an area on the way to the aquarium where water shoots out the ground and kids would run through it. Once at the Aquarium there were long lines to buy tickets. It's much better to buy tickets online. This aquarium is absolutely beautiful. So colorful. We all enjoyed petting the stingrays, star fish & horseshoe crabs. We missed petting the sharks. They come out in the morning and evening. We were there midday. The various species of penguins reminded me of the movie Happy Feet. The main aquarium is 4 levels high and is 23 feet deep. We were able to watch scuba divers cleaning the tank and the backs of the huge turtles. I loved the colorful anemani. I will definitely visit again.

Great place to go to with a friend who is a visitor/tourist to the city, but probably not something I would go to otherwise. They don't seem to hold events (e.g. like they do at the CalAcademy in SF) or change things up very much, so if you've been once, there's not too much reason to go again, except maybe to see the adorable penguins again. Bring your camera to remember things by!

The aquarium was fun, but definitely charged more than it was worth. The layout does not allow for large crowds, so there were bottlenecks is several places that made is almost impossible to see the animals.

It was amazing!! The staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. It had a large variety of species and great information to learn from. Lots of conservation tips and ways to "Live Blue."

Lots to look at, great place to bring the family! We could have spent all day here and we are in our 20s. Penguins, seals, jellyfish, frogs, fish, snakes. There is so much to see!! If you plan to do more things in Boston check out the GoBoston! Pass for discount and packaged deals. We saw so many cool things and really enjoyed the touch tanks with starfish, and sting rays. Highly recommend and would definitely come again!

We went on Saturday and it was insanely crowded. We expected it to be busy but it was so full it made it hard to walk around and look at the exhibits. I wouldn't care if it wasn't so expensive. The price is ridiculous.

Love! So many great exhibits, so much to learn! The open-concept was awesome, it felt as if you were closer to the penguins (LOVE the penguins) and the view from the top of the tank, is amazing.

It's a cute aquarium but not really big despite it being about 3 floors. It has a big tank in the center which you basically just go around seeing. As you go up in levels you just really see get to the point of the top of the tank. Sharks are small. Temperature in the aquarium was extremely hot. Mix that with the spacing being small and a huge crowds it makes for the experience not so great.

I brave the packs of families at least once a year when I take my niece and nephew to the aquarium so I can press my face against the glass of the huge coral reef tank and listen to them scream in delight as the bottom side of a ray grazes our faces. Good times.

I love visiting this place, under the sea adventure. It's great to see all the different types of fish in the center tank. Take the time to stop at each window as it will bring new surprises. My fav is the jelly fish, I could watch them all day. We used our ebt card for my daughter and I and admission was only $10 winning!! Or so I thought till I got back to the parking garage and spent $40 on parking, there went all my awesome savings for the day. So you have been warned. We were only there for less than 3 hours, i was disappointed in that. Otherwise the animals provided a great morning adventure.
