Really is an awesome aquarium. The penguins are amazing, it's great to touch the rays (they feel kinda slimy). If you plan to go more then once get a membership, you'll skip the line and it'll cost less.
If your on a budget you'll want to bring snacks. Food in this area is a little expensive, though there's a Dunkin's around the corner.

Fish are beautiful , there is only one large tank in the middle of the whole aquarium. This aquarium is over expensive and does not compare to Mystic aquarium that s large and beautiful and spacious more animals to see and large pools. This overall was boring nothing to get a wow! Parking is super expensive! Never again, terrible experience and over crowded with people. St

Too much people ! This is the first thing that comes to my mind as there were so many people this Saturday to the point that it was impossible to see an aquarium nearby. In addition no route is planned and everyone is going in all directions. Otherwise the aquariums are well maintained but sometimes small.
On the other hand, I find SCANDALEUX the attraction where you can touch rays with your hands. Imagine 20 people nonstop touching these beasts who ask nothing of anyone. Anyway, no!

This aquarium was filled with a variety of species. It was a very cool design for an aquarium with the center having a huge pillar of water in the middle with fish and turtles. Also the penguins were so cute.

Had a very nice experience with penguin show, looking at fish feeding and other exhibits. Paying full price might not be worth it but using a library discount made it worth the penny. So we went to the 3D theater for one of their shows on Pandas and it was amazing. I felt it better than Jordan's in terms of visuals, seats and food. Would definitely go again on library card discount

Lovely aquarium near the North End. Buy your tickets online to skip the giant line to get in. Great exhibits throughout, with excellent large tank that is the center and runs through all 4 floors.

The aquarium was a wonderful, educational way to spend a couple of hours. We arrived at open to avoid the majority of the crowds, which worked out well because it became busier and busier as time went on.
You can see almost everything in about 2 hours, unless you are trying to see specific shows, all of which run on their own schedule.

So long as you go when it's not that busy time you will absolutely love seeing the different fish and Exhibits. Once it gets busy however, it starts to get hard to stop and enjoy everything as there is not a lot of space for everybody. Well worth the trip!

The experience is well worth the price, even before you walk in! There is a seal tank outside with six named seals. There is also a tank where you can pet sharks and rays. There are. Tons of penguins in a large indoor pool. At the center of it all is a massive tank with tons of large fish like tuna and mackerel. There is also a 90 year old sea turtle. There is also a freshwater section with Asian Arowanas, salmon, and many other tank. Most of the tanks have plaques above them telling you what type of fish there are. There is a few jellyfish tanks with all sorts of jellies. There are more saltwater tanks with smaller fish. They also show amazing imax movies next door. It is in an amazing location, and it is easy to find food.

Pricy entrance fee. Buy your tickets online, otherwise you'll be on a long line to get in. Exhibits were very interesting and was really impressed with the building size aquatic tank that is in the middle. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Standard over priced group pictures offered at the end.

Not the best aquarium I have been to. Smaller and less number of attractions. Clogged and heavy traffic, only one elevator. Small cafeteria with overpriced food. Not worth for the price. Maybe they should cap the number of tickets issued to avoid being clogged.

Worth the visit. There are touch tanks where you can touch starfish and stingrays. It's fun to see the penguins being hand fed little fish. They line up single file in an orderly fashion and take their turn as if they're people.

One of the most lovely aquariums I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The active octopus was so fun to watch, as were the different types of penguins. The selection of fishes was diverse and beautiful, and there was even a rare blue lobster! I'd love to go back next time I'm in Boston.

Cute aquarium. Can be quite busy with school groups. Good displays, healthy animals but not as much information as lost aquariums I've been to. The main feature was the impressive 4 story tank.

Great displays of aquatic life. The exhibits are a little light on actual information, though. I would have littles to have been able to learn more about each fish in an exhibit, even though just watching them was still rather engaging.

A little on the smaller side but has good quality exhibits. Not-for-profit, and entry fee goes to research and conservation. The animals they have are rescues and are not able to survive on their own in the wild.

After a number of trips to the aquarium, it is still a fun trip. The fish are great and the penguins are neat. The seals leave a little bit to be desired though. They have a 'seal show' thats really just them feeding the seals and telling you a few very basic facts about seals. Stayed for it one time and was very disappointed.

Great exhibits. Very hard to find the cafe, and once there, you are out of the aquarium and have to get back in line to go through a re-entry. Only 1 set of restrooms in the building which were out of order , so we were sent to an adjacent building.

Such a great time! I could not get myself away from the penguins. I got to watch the staff feed the penguins and it's very obvious that they care a great deal for them. Do yourself a favor and make sure you catch a sea lion show - they dance and do all kinds of cute maneuvers that will have you laughing hysterically. What a wonderful resource for the city.

It is a little small, but a very nice aquarium. The animals and tanks are well kept. They have a lot of demonstrations and educational sessions. I particularly liked watching feeding of the penguins. The training session with the seals was good also. There's a shark exhibit on the map, but it was not fully open when I went. All in all I spent about 2 hours in the aquarium.

About New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium is a world-renowned visitor attraction located in Boston, Massachusetts. With over 1.3 million visitors annually, it is one of the most popular destinations in the city and a major public education resource.

Founded in 1969, the New England Aquarium has been dedicated to promoting ocean conservation and marine research for over five decades. The aquarium's mission is to inspire visitors to protect and conserve our oceans through education, research, and advocacy.

One of the main attractions at the New England Aquarium is its Giant Ocean Tank. This massive cylindrical tank stands at four stories tall and holds over 200,000 gallons of water. Visitors can observe a variety of marine life up close as they swim around this impressive exhibit.

In addition to the Giant Ocean Tank, there are many other exhibits that showcase different aspects of marine life. The Amazon Rainforest exhibit features freshwater fish from South America while the Edge of the Sea exhibit highlights creatures that live along rocky shorelines.

The aquarium also offers various educational programs for visitors of all ages. From school field trips to summer camps and even adult workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about marine science and conservation.

For those interested in getting involved with ocean conservation efforts themselves, there are several volunteer opportunities available at the aquarium. Volunteers can assist with animal care or help educate visitors about ocean conservation issues.

Overall, visiting the New England Aquarium is an unforgettable experience that combines entertainment with education and promotes awareness about our planet's oceans.
