This was an ok aquarium as I ve been to many others. This aquarium seemed much smaller than most. It s multiple levels but didn t really have many fun exhibits like other aquariums do. We loved the penguin and the sea lion exhibits. We didn t see the imax shows but were ok not doing that. If you go here, I d recommend getting the CITYPASS first as you d get to see this, a boat cruise, the science museum, and and observatory. It s worth the price as this costs about $35 or so per adult. The city pass is worth it.

Pretty lame for the money it costs. They don't even have sharks. It appears as if the place is using the Penguins as their "Featured" exhibit. If you like walking around and looking fish after fish after fish in displays, then this place is for you. If you are going to see more exciting exhibits then go to the Baltimore aquarium in Maryland. In the end though the money you are spending also goes to a good cause so don't feel too ripped off.

This place requires a reservation!! Do not try to just show up, they'll likely be sold out. We arrived much earlier today and they were already sold out. Get your tickets on the website or give them a call before you depart.

This is a fantastic city aquarium. Lots of charismatic creatures (sea turtle, seal, sea lion, sharks, rays, penguins). The main central tank is incredible and you get to see it from bottom to top winding up a spiral ramp around it.

My only gripe with the place was that we were there on the Sunday of a 3-day weekend and it was packed. We didn't buy tickets in advance so spent 28min in line. Then with 3 adults and 4 kids (ages 3-12), we tried to wiggle our way to the front of the glass to see things. The crowd was unpleasant, and we made the mistake of not checking our coats into a locker at the front (though we were able to leave a couple carry on suitcases in the stroller parking! So handy! ). Overall it was hard to move around the central tank and the tanks lining the walls in the main hall (and keep track of the kids in some of the semidarkened areas). After half our party left around noon, we found the Ray touch tank (worth it!) and the sea lions, which were in a much more open area on the ground floor.

I think this aquarium may need to think about timed tickets to manage the crowds.

I was not impressed. Very small. They didn't have big sharks, octopuses or even jelly fish. After an hour I was bored. It's very expensive. I've been to better aquariums. My opinion don't bother. There are a lot of better attractions in Boston to see. Save your money.

My daughter, boyfriend & grandson took my husband & I here for my grandson's 2nd birthday, mothers day & my husbands birthday. It was a great day with great company. We even have pictures to remind us just how much fun it was. My grandson was in his glory with all of us there. Great idea & so thoughtful to combine all our special days into one. We all had the best day. We will be talking about it for yrs to come...

Super disappointing! First it was extremely expensive, we paid around $130 for a family of five for the basic tickets. Second the fish are kept in an extremely small tank where they can hardly swim, its almost sad watching them. Third it's super crowded over the weekend. Save your money, there are much better aquariums in other places.

An old time classic with lots of new exhibits, the center ocean tank is the Belle of the ball to be certain, and you can't help but stare at the penguins of which they have three species so there is plenty to see! The sea lion exhibit which replaced the otters is a really great exhibit with plenty of activity and tons of viewing space! Only thing I'll say is this building is older so it gets crowded fast and finding space for yourself can be tough. All around a great devotee to our precious marine life and aquatica.

Great place for family excursion. Adults will not feel time passing. Very well done: entertaining and educating. Lot of to discover. Parking is pretty expensive and very limited in this area. Nearby food shop are pretty basic fast food. I do not remember any restaurant inside the facility. It can take all day long to visit everything. So be prepared for a long healthy walk. And do not forget carriage for little kids otherwise It will another father painful kid-carrying day.

This is a must do in Boston! Seriously the coolest place I have been between all aquariums and zoo's I have been to around the United States. I would pay to go again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!

Awesome aquarium! Great set up as it's an upward spiral and a huge collection of animals and sea life. Everything is wheelchair/stroller accessible. I would definitely come back to this aquarium. They do a turtle feeding which is SO CUTE! All of the workers are very informative.
Pro tip: don't wait on the line (which can get quite long), buy tickets on your phone and present via mobile.

The circular tank that winds upwards enables seeing sea life multiple levels all the way to the surface on the highest level. The divers were feeding the fish and huge turtle as we went up.There are sea lions and penguins here, and kids can touch sting rays. The cafe was closed when we went.

Great aquarium. Staff are very interactive with the guests and all of the staff were positive and helpful with questions. My daughter was in a wheelchair for the visit and everything was accessible to her. She was able to participate with the other children in the touch tanks as well as watching the different shows. Thank you for a great experience.

It was my 6 year old daughter first time at the aquarium she had a blast her favorite thing to see was the peguins. Even though there's not much to do there but walk up the spiral fish tank there is a spot you can touch the sting rays and sharks but always packed and you can all go and touch the star fishes. But it's a nice time to go and spend an hour or so and learn about sea animals.

One of there workers in the gift shop was really rude i was looking at candy bars and she comes overr picks up the boxes and brings them to the register and then we got on camera waving to us in a rude way

Always very nice to explore the underwater world. It is not particularly large as a structure, however, the presence of a huge central cylinder-shaped tank that develops for each of the full height of the aquarium compensates for the size representing an interesting section of the underwater world. Worth visiting. I also recommend taking the boat trip, always organized by the aquarium, to see the whales, very exciting. Departure from the port adjacent to the aquarium entrance. Advisable to book before.

Pros :

Pros :
Great experience watching sea lives and beauty.. Kids 3+ will definitely enjoy it

Cons :
Its little expensive. Also parking nearby costs about $40.

Cafeteria was closed by 3pm

The aqaurium is great! There are so many animals and my favorite are the penguins which you see as soon as you enter. Also before you enter, you can take a photo. After you're done looking around, you go to the photo counter. To get a set that includes about 4 tiny photos, 2 big photos, and a tiny photo in a frame is 30 dollars. If you just want to get the frame photo, that's like 25 dollars, which is so overpriced. If you want to get only the tiny photos, you can't, unfortunately. Also, a good thing about this place is that they have a schedule with different presentations and movies, so your whole day can be planned out! We went to a movie at the IMAX theater which is right next to the aquarium. The movie was 40 minutes long, in 3D, and about 30 dollars for 3 people. Can I just point out that a regular sized Mike and Ike is 4 dollars there! Umm.. might want to bring your own snacks if you're even allowed to! Also, there is a cafe in the aquarium, but didn't eat there since it closes before the aquarium does which I find a little weird. Although it seems like I am just saying bad concepts, I only gave this a 4 out 5 since it was overpriced in some areas. But that isn't much of a surprise.

Quite a big collection of fish and other Marine life for the price. Especially the fish tank in the middle is nice since it contains multiple turtles and one very large one. The seal show however wasn't very interesting. It was mainly focused on getting people to donate for global warming research which is a good cause but it took a little too much attention. All in all it's a nice thing to do for a morning or afternoon if you have nothing planned.

Definitely, definitely go here if you love sea life. Penguins, fish, crustaceans, cephalopods of all kinds! Oh and did I mention the SEALS. Their fin and tonic nights are great, too :) worth it

We had the most amazing whale watching experience with this company, I truly recommend it! So many whales and such beautiful surroundings. It was boiling in Boston when we went out and we got absolutely soaked and a little chilly so do take layers/waterproofs.
