Super nice park. They invest heavily in better living conditions, and is easily visible. It will only get more beautiful! The old small lofts are increasingly giving way to beautiful, large, light and exciting environments for the animals (and visitors!). Recommended!

This is a Victorian age city zoo. A lot of the facilities were built in an age when animal welfare was not the main priority. However, they are slowly upgrading the zoo to give the animals larger and more natural enclosures, are not striving to get the most exotic animals and therefore have less animals than most other zoo's.

With this in mind you should see the zoo as an eco-park in the city that has some interesting (smaller)animals, lots of birds, nice aquarium great butterfly pavilion. A cute zoo that is worth hanging out in. Bring some sandwiches and a picknick blanket and sit between the flowerbeds. Or relax in the somewhat hidden zen garden next to the aquarium. Don't forget the petting zoo or the egg-hatching area.

What a wonderful zoo. Has a nice atmosphere. Whether you walk through a park. The flora and fauna in the park is amazing. What beautifully kept gardens. There is a lot to see. Artis continues to innovate.

Very nice zoo. Fun for young and old. Most places are accessible for people with disabilities. Parking is next to the park and there is always a place. Nice animals and compact park so you get to see everything you want to see. Very nice for an afternoon out!

Even though it is quite expensive we really enjoyed our visit. There has been some improvements and the giraffes and elephants have more space to roam. Great addition!!
There are many opportunities to sit and have an drink or bite.
The toilets are many but they can be quite dirty.

Great zoo, definitely worth a visit when in Amsterdam. In addition, parking is relatively cheap compared to the rest of the city (of course in connection with zoo tickets). We left the car there and later walked into town (about 25 minutes on foot)

Any zoo is always worth visiting, and Artis is certainly no exception. Generally well maintained; the animals don't look stressed or unhappy. Not many large animals but certainly made up for by the birds, small mammals, gorillas and fishes. Oh and don't forget to validate your parking ticket when buying your entrance ticket. Bird droppings are free and plenty at this open air parking so perhaps just come by public transportation...

All the inside and part of the outside areas were without signals on the floor for the 1.5 m distance; in the Reptilarium there were a lot of people without any control BUT.... you can't have anymore the PERSONAL paper map for the zoo because of the Covid? Why....? They have been closed for the Covid for weeks and nobody tought to put a big map for everyone (in the place of t hge paper one) in the different parts of the zoo; some animals were not present and some areas not opened. To end, 4 euro a two scoops ice cream? That is crazy!!! Anyway, now it is a very risky place because they did not take seriously the RIVM guidelines as the most of the place of the country did....Some more respect would be appreciated!

Nice and cozy, but the four of you will soon lose an entrance fee of around 80 euros, which I find rather pricey. If you also want to go to Micropia you have to add a few tens. Then the parking costs and something to eat and drink. Had to laugh at a few small children who found the uninvited loose-fluttering herons more interesting than impressing birds of prey.

Beautifully beautiful park! Swimming elephants a few meters away, what more could you want? Not everything is beautiful and renovated yet, but it is well on its way to becoming one of the most beautiful parks in the Netherlands!

I've been coming here for the past 6 years on an almost weekly basis with son. He loves it. It's great for people from all ages, make sure to come early if the weather is nice or queue for quite some time to get tickets (or buy online). The new areas of the elephants and jaguars are great. Some animals really deserve a larger area, like the lions, and some areas are a worn out. Areas a bit out of sight but very worthwile: aquarium and small mammal house with lots of monkeys.

Provided a safe entrance. Kept indoors
employees noticed that the one-way path was going well. There weren't many people at the same time. We felt safe.

What an attractive zoo. Although we were here on a busy day, it didn't bother us. The zoo has something intimate because it is so green and you have many different fields, paths and enclosures. Most animals are clearly visible. There is a beautiful, challenging playground where children can climb and clamber really well at a nice (busy) restaurant. We really enjoyed it here.

The ZOOmeravond is really a super cool concept! Lots of fun in the park while watching some animals and enjoying music. The pizzas are really fresh! I also recommend the sandwich with beet, mackerel and egg from the 'normal' restaurant. I also think it is a big drawback that they do not sell regular soft drinks at all, such as a regular Coke zero for example. I also think the drinks are a bit expensive. The food, on the other hand, has an excellent price-quality ratio.

One of the oldest zoos in Europe and the oldest one in the Netherlands, founded in 1838. The buildings still give that old feeling.... Very atmospheric, they try and give the animals a lot of space which is always difficult in a city..... Always a joy to visit

Very nice setting by old architecture and the canals, the ARTIS zoo clearly has a professional staff and management. All facilities are clean and well maintained. There is a large variety of animals. The enclosures allow for a nice viewing experience. And the animals seem well taken care of as many of them were active and playful.

I recommend the zoo for families or for anyone who enjoys a nice day experiencing animals from around the world in a top notch facility.
