In my experience, NTP is a total waste of money. When one of my trucks recently had an issue, here was the emailed response from one of their reps: I appreciate your attempt to find a failure that is covered by the warranty but it is unlikely that any assembly issue There you go. That s their style of customer service. NTP has lost my business for life. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them as when you have an issue, they will not repair it and write a snarky email just to rub salt in the wound.

Terrible customer service. We have payed the premiums every month on time. We have a truck in the shop, trying to get a hold of someone to find out what they will cover. Been on hold for over 2 hours, its 10am, keep getting transferred to someone else who puts me on hold and then transferred again to a voicemail. We call back and get the same run-around. We tried calling different departments. The sales team answers right away but cant help us at all, and they do not know anyone that can. They say there are not any available managers to speak to. Will not use them ever again.
This is scam company , its been a month I tried to get hold for only one agent to finish my after treatment claim but no answers, I did paid $2600 from my own wallet while my truck under there warranty, if anyone has same problem please let's contract each other and find a law office to sewing them bunch of scammers .
The worst rip off ever. I got warranty for $3000, they won't pay anything, they try to say it's not covered, over $5000 repairs to engine and power train and they always say not covered. Finally a turbo bearing goes out which is covered, they don't want to pay parts and labor for oil line to turbo. IH dealer refuses to do turbo without changing oil line, they say turbo oil line has to be replaced if turbo is replaced. I have to pay $300 deductible, and this company won't pay tax either. Long story short, I have to pay $1700 of a turbo repair and Warranty pays $1500. So why not keep your money in pocket and pay for mechanical repairs as they arise? These guys are crooks. Don't waste your money.
NTP and Premium 2000 have been a great partner with us through thick and thin. Mike Smyth and Wade Bontrager are true stand up professionals that have always stood behind their product and their word, which is rare these days.
The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they need some training on phone etiquette. The few times I've spoken with anyone in their office they always seem "put off," but other than that, I'm satisfied.
In Nov. 2017 we purchased a 3yr/300k mile Platinum Warranty for our 2014 Pete 388 with a Cummins ISX15. Wasn't cheap, $8k+.
Episode 1: March 2018; High-Pressure Fuel leak, long story short all 6 injectors had to be replaced due to a slight design change with the Rail connectors. NTP paid over $6k of the $8500+ bill.
Episode 2: June 2018; NOx sensor issue. NTP paid the $1,500 bill less my $300 deductible.
Episode 3: October 2018; VGT Actuator went out. Rush Phoenix told me that NTP and others typically do not cover it. Sure enough, not covered as is stated in contract they don't cover electrical components. It wasn't cheap, but I paid it and moved on.
So my thoughts are this. NTP has been a stand up partner for us in this first year with our truck. We have two more years left of our warranty. We strive for impeccable maintenance and record keeping. When we have a problem, we have it checked out ASAP. Just simple logical common sense goes a long way. I would surely recommend these guys and if the time comes again and we're looking to buy again, they will be our first consideration.
These people are horrible to deal with ... absolutely worthless, DO NOT BUY National truck protection for your vehicle , complete waste of money , this is an unbiased review due to multiple interactions of dealings with this company !!!
Third truck in three years with no success having this warranty coverage. 1st truck motor went out while driving to deliver. Warranty wouldn t cover because they said engine failure was due to bolts coming loose on the camshaft housing. Paid $7000.00 to repair. True their contract does state it has to be internal. When you purchase coverage you automatically think if anything goes wrong it s covered. Not the case. Second truck .... after treatment went bad freightliner estimated 15,000.00 these guys after fighting with the dealership agreed to pay about 10% of the total. They fought so long I had to surrender the unit. My current truck also has aftertreatment issues. Out of a 1200.00 bill with a 500.00 deductible they agreed to cover 167.00. What do I need them for? This is the absolute last warranty with these guys I will ever purchase. It was a huge waste of money. Could ve used the money paid for these worthless warranties to help on the repairs.
I have national truck protection warranty and did injectors and cups on my D13, warranty payed all most everything but gateway volvo dealer overcharged me on all the parts and the labor, they charged 265 dollars to pull the truck into their garage and set there for 2 hours they said they did diagnostics on it what a rip off never ever going to use gateway volvo dealer nor any of my friends or any trucker out there that I know. 133 per hour, 265 diagnostics, 200 for using their shop haha, almost 3200 for 6 Injectors woww they got me there good, Gateway volvo of Collinsville il hope you get it one day.
My truck broke down on the highway and these guys never answer the phone. Mechanic from the shop told me that he does not want to deal with their insurance so he refused to repair the truck. So im on I 85 right now stranded. This guys dont do their job. Dont go with them.
Horrible customer service! My experience with these guys have been a nightmare. They are in cohoots with their suggested service and dealers. For starters, I followed their advice of taking my truck into Velocity truck center fontana, CA (DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE). I needed to get my one box repaired. The nightmare started on November 9th, 2020. Here it is 8 days later and my truck is still not even being worked on... a whole other review. I had to go back and forth between the dealer and NTP for days. Get one estimate of 1700+. Cool no problem. Then I call velocity and is told I have a balance of $869.15 after my 5 day mission of getting my original repair approved. My deductible is only $500.00. So where is the $369.15 coming from... I get both parties on a 3 way conference and all I hear is how small of a repair it is I'm complaining about and if Velocity wants to specify the "miscellaneous" and "other" charges that makes up the difference from my deductible... its totally up to them. This is coming from the warranty representative by the way. Total bribe show and bs... I ended up just telling Velocity to just run my card for the total needed. I think after I got them both on the line it went down to $658 and some change. But I would advice you to save your $10K! I would have rather took it to a local guy and dealt directly with them than to have been belittled and ridiculed for wanting to know what I was paying extra for.... SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID THESE PPL AT ALL COST!
If I could give then no stars I would..... so my transmission gears & synchro go bad & instead of me waiting for it to break I take it into the dealer because I figured I had "warranty" & what does NTP tell the dealer they need physical damage they don't warranty worn parts! So my transmission is grinding from Florida to NY & I have to let it break before I can get it fixed! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I literally had to hold the truck at a certain rpm to not hear the gears grinding. NTP IS AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, IF A DEALER OFFERS YOU WARRANTY FROM NTP REFUSE IT!
Save your money! These clowns are a bunch of crooks! They will find a way to weasel out of paying for anything! And every dealership I have worked with gives me a bad look every time I mention a NPT warranty.
Great to know i already lost $2500 for 1 year coverage thanks to god i never needed service from them it expired this month now tbet keep sending me an email to renew it, with reviewing those comments from my great fellow citizens i will never even consider them anymore thank you very who explained this experience
Well I guess I'm not surprised to see these reviews. Its really heartbreaking to have companies such as these guys. WARNING: THIS IS NOT A SMALL OWNER OP WARRANTY. They only deal with dealers. Which means truck is down for 1-2 months at best. And I could just feel this guy laughing on the phone. Big lesson learned today.
