I can't say enough good things about this place. We're local and we drive through here and hike the trails regularly. I just wish they'd start ticketing the folks parking illegally and dangerously on the road going up from the base of the GGB. The last few times I've felt lucky to not have been hit. I can't imagine riding a bicycle through there. Be careful and enjoy the views safely.

Pack plenty of water and snacks. A change of clothes would be smart for a swim, climate change, windy. Portable phone charger would be smart. Nice digital camera, rather than your phone, with a zoom lense. Prepare to do a lot, a lot, a lot of walking...or pack your bicycle. Sneakers and/hiking boots/shoes, a backpack.

Muir beach is beautiful. My 10 year old loved playing in the water and searching for shells and rocks. I noticed many dogs who were off leash ( signs said this was permitted) and looked like they were having the time of their lives ! I like the fact dogs are able to run around off leash. Parking is difficult to get in the very small lot but this beach is worth visiting.

Don't miss the bridge! Walking on the Golden Gate bridge is a lot of fun. We spotted a bunch of whales in the water. Parking was not as hard as we expected. If you are familiar with angry bicyclists that want to own the road, they are owning the walking path here. They will yell at you for being on the wrong side of the path, even though many of them are also on the wrong side. I don't really see why someone would want to ride a bicycle over the Golden Gate Bridge. It is much nicer to take it all in by walking.

Sunrise is spectacular up here. Lots of parking and the morning sun puts some incredible light on the bridge. My little iphone didn't do it justice but if you're more of a photographer than me (which is anyone with a half decent camera) you would love the sunrise there. Grab a coffee before you head up and wear some layers as it can be chilly!

I had no idea that this was in San Francisco but super glad my wife found out about it. We went to the Walt Disney museum and that was well worth it. Seeing all he did in his life and hearing him tell the stories was incredible. We also walked to the Lucas arts office to see the Yoda water fountain and all the movie stuff they have on display (the kids and I liked that way to much). This place also has a great view of the golden gate bridge. Well worth spending a day walking around learning about the area and the tunnel tops area.

It was pretty beautiful on the day we went, just outside Ghirardelli Square is the ocean and a great view while on the beach. Pretty romantic if that's what your looking for as well, traffic was horrible though.

Stopping by Pacifica for a stroll along the beach or a hike up one of the gorgeous hills facing the Pacific Ocean is one of the treats of living in San Bruno, a mere 10 minutes from this gorgeous coastal town. A number of cozy spots to enjoy brunch or a snack await you, and you can later burn the calories putting in a good walk.

On our latest visit, we had brunch with friends at Breakers Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch, where I enjoyed Huevos Rancheros (it gets busy!), and then walked north up the hill, and down by the trail... Great way to spend 3-4 hours on a Sunday.

Clearly one of the most beautiful places in the world. You have the Golden Gate bridge as part of it plus the areas just north and south of the bridge. Starting in the North you have the natural beauty of the Muir Woods Monument and the Marin Headlands. Heading south you have the Golden Gate Bridge, The Presidio, Crissy Field, and Land's End and more. Even Alcatraz is a part of it!! You have to go to the website to truly understand how massive it is. Amazing!!

Absolutely spectacular view. From this point, the city of San Fransisco and surrounding mountains are clearly visible. The centerpiece of the view is the golden gate bridge, where the scene is unprecedented. Although the overlook does often get incredibly crowded. There is a large line just to climb the mountain around sunset. Although this is expected as the sunset is clearly visible from the mountain, and reflects off of the bridge and the city. If you were to see sunset from this point, I suggest going early and waiting up there at least an hour in advance, or going on a weekday

An impressive structure to behold. Educational exhibits about the physics of the bridge. A gift shop and two food shops during business hours. Park is set up well to accommodate the amount of visitors that go to see the golden gate bridge. Wether you go by car, Uber, bus, bike or walk this park is ready for your visit.

Wonderful place! Beautiful views! It was really windy when I went so, my hair was in my face all the time. However, I was still able to appreciate the beauty in between hair slaps! I love visiting this area!

This place is an amazingly beautiful park. It has so many different areas to visit, and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the Golden Gate Bridge, and woodlands. Some of the highlights are, the Nike Missile site, Fort Point, Fort Mason, Tennesee Valley, Muir Woods, and Milagra Ridge. If you can get a ticket Alcatraz is phenominal. Another hidden gem for history buffs is that they have their own archives for research.
