Very large place and takes a while to get around which is great. You start on the top floor and work your way down. There are staff always near to answer any questions. There are also many feeding sessions for the animals for you to see and commentary by the staff to give you an insight to the animals. Very big room half way through to stop for lunch while looking into a HUGE tank so a nice view while eating. I highly recommend you visit
Great place for families. The son was crazy about the fish
Too busy to really enioy which also meant a lot of dirty glass to try and look through. Would be worth the money otherwise. Need to find a way to manage the amount of people and keep the glass clean.
great aquarium for couples and family, the staff are friendly and enclosures are bright and clean
Great day out, ticket price allows you to go back for free for the year. Child and disability friendly. The screenshot was taken April 2019
Overpriced, understaffed and unclean. This is meant to be THE best aquarium in the UK...and whilst it does have well stocked tanks with interesting fish, Sea World it ain't. However it does have THE most expensive cafe in the UK and THE most inefficient ticketing and queuing system in the World.
Just make sure you visit Dartmoor Zoo (which is utterly brilliant) and take advantage of their half price ticket offer for this place, because you'd be gutted if you paid full price.
Always a great place to visit as has something for everyone. Good value for money.
Go to see the turtle if nothing else. And look out for the entertaining and informative talks given by friendly staff throughout the day.
Great place to take my son. He loves all the bright fish. Good food in the cafe with a cracking view.
Not a very big place, quite expensive for what it is. Avoid when children are off school, as it is ridiculously busy and you cant see anything properly, spoils it for the grown ups
I regularly visit the NMA for training courses and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food is good in the restaurant and the fish are always happy to see me
Not a bad place for a few hours out but can get quite busy. The onsite restaurant is well below expectations, the food is good but the cleanliness of the tables, seats and just about everything else in the seating area I'd poor at best.
What an amazing place to visit! Very well worth to go to and see all of the species there!
It was full, but there was a lot to see. However, the entrance is not without.
An excellent place to visit with lots of creatures to look at and helpful, informative staff!
Great displays and information. Kid friendly. Could have more interactive displays.
It's ok, bit expensive. You'll be all done in 2 hours.
Great place to visit highly recommended! Great Covid-19 protocol.
Informative and friendly staff who are happy to provide detail on a kid friendly level about the aquarium and animals they have within it. Also helped with carrying a pushchair up the stairs without being asked.
Stunning temperate and tropical aquarium's. Great value if able to use the free return within the year.
We visit the aquarium a few times a month. The year ticket is fantastic. My son loves coming here.
I liked me very much, I would have seen more octopus, turtles and other different types of fish.
Great for keeping the kids (and adults) occupied for a few hours! And you pay once and can go all year for free.
Love this place. So glad the ticket lasted a year. Each time you visit is a different experience.
Disappointing. Drove a long way to get here, followed the clear signs from the town centre to the aquarium, which led to the footbridge, only to find it was closed. This resulted in an additional 30 minute walk all the way round the harbour to get there. When paying, the attendant made a point of saying that we were in time for the last talk at 5pm. We went to the right location, waited for won minutes, nothing. Eventually, asked someone walking by with refreshment stock, she asked one of the staff, who just said ""no, we decided not to do the talk because there weren't enough people". Well, thanks ffor letting us know!
Generally, a bit tired, wasn't worth the long journey, or the entry price. Can't recommend. Some nice photo opportunities, but otherwise, nothing interesting.
Friendly staff, wonderful exhibits and though expensive - worth it!
Great for the kids not huge takes an hour or so lots of sharks and stuff
I think the marine aquariums are fantastic however there was no tropical freshwater aquariums which I was a gutted about
Went here during the school holidays and it was raining and honestly it was way to busy. There was that many people inside that you where just pushed through without getting much chance to look at things. The exhibitions where good and loads of fish just make sure you go when it's quite. We where through in about 30 mins and for the price we paid it was a bit poor. I'd suggest only letting so many people in but that would only take money out of there pocket
Great place to visit although a lot smaller than the Deep. My little boy loved the sharks. Good one way sysyem in place. staff on hand to ask questions about the fish etc. Good day out. Well worth a visit.
Bit pricey for what it is but it supports marine study's so I'm fine with that . Really nice place
Not price friendly but filled a few hours on a wet day with the children
Not sure cheap day out, but the whole family enjoyed the aquarium. Lots to see, fish large and small, and the talks were perfect for our kids (school age). You can picnic half way around on the terrace outside too.
A fun day out for family members of all ages. We went during the Easter weekend, which was really busy, but we still managed to go round and see everything without too much trouble. Some of the displays were closed and there's a new display being built - I look forward to seeing the end results.
It's great that the tickets allow you to return again as many times as you like during the year too!
Huge aquarium, visited before lockdown occurred. Looking forward to returning with the kids.
Amazing range of fish and sea life. Lots for kids to see and interact with
Massively over priced ,took less than a hour to go round ,was going to have a cup of tea in cafe but very busy and again very over priced.
Waited in line for a very long time, definitely recommend buying tickets online as you get to skip the general line. The aquarium was good, however I do think it's hyped up to be way more than it is - I was expecting a lot more to be honest. It was incredibly busy on a cloudy morning and it was hard to look at any of the exhibits because there was just way too many people.
Do du e akwarium, adnie o wietlone bardzo du o rado ci dla dzieci.
Amazing place filled with sea animals and creatures. Learnt a lot from all of the facts and information on the walls. Helpful, friendly and informative staff. Really enjoyed it.
The opinion says that it is the largest in England. They can be compared to many. I was expecting something more.
Compared to other aquariums, relatively narrow, long queue, aquariums poorly presented, a bit old, high price
Iike this place because it is very interactive meaning that its good for younger children, it's a very good day out.
Nice , spacious place. Quite a few interesting species
Must see Plymouth. Squishy the octopus is a star attraction at feeding time.
Crowded. Noisey. But incredibly pretty and breathtaking.
Nice place to take children. Spacious and clean. Bit expensive to go very often.
A good place to visit. There are numerous attractions for children. It's possible to taste fish dishes in the cafe near the Aquarium entrance.
We often pop down for a couple of hours, do check out what short talks are on for added interest. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We walked round the bay to this as the footbridge was closed. A point I didn't notice on their website.
When we got there we enjoyed ourselves. It was quiet, as it was weekday in term-time. And if we lived closer I could see the annual membership being handy with young children. We had a toddler with us who found it all fascinating. A lovely couple of hours.
Perfect for kids or any lover of sealife. Could be more to look at but reasonable for an hours look around. Loved the different species of sealife, my favourite being the jellyfish.
Very inspiring place. :) good to get there with a scatch book and try to draw those amazing creatures :) highly recommended!!!
