Newly opened domestic terminal is fantastic and maintained to match international standards. i have mostly used Terminal-1, This place is quiet crowded during peak time. Security check and immigration is happens very quickly. The immigration staff has great respect for women travelers. I have seen many times they are given preference first. There is a small food court with fast food chains.

If you are coming to drop some one then u will find lot of space for paid parking and its cheap.
only problem is less number of check in counters, if you are checking into big flights like boeing 777 then you will have to wait in a long queue.

King Khalid International Airport (IATA: RUH, ICAO...

King Khalid International Airport (IATA: RUH, ICAO: OERK) is an international airport about 20 kilometers away from the Saudi capital, Riyadh. [1] [2] [3] It is the center of the national air transportation system. Designed by the American Architectural Office Helmut, Obata and Kasabaum, it was opened in 1983 to be the largest airport in the world in terms of area, with the airport's land area of about 225 square kilometers, and the airport bears the name of Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who was the fourth king of Saudi Arabia.

The number of passenger lounges is 5 lounges, which include three internal lounges (two lounges are currently operational and the other is empty and not completed for future use) and two international lounges connected by four connected buildings, and each of these halls is triple-planed, i.e. with a triangular base and a floor area of approximately 47,500 square meters. Each of the buildings connecting the terminals is 168 meters long and an approximate area of 25,000 square meters. The buildings contain moving paths, restaurants, canteens, offices for airlines, government agencies and commercial markets. In front of the halls, there is also a public parking area of three floors, which can accommodate about 8000 cars in addition to 3600 cars on the roof.

The first hall

(TR-1) serves international (non-Saudi) airlines

The second hall

(TR-2) serves passengers on international flights on the national carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines and Flynas,

The third hall

(TR-3) serves passengers on domestic flights on Saudi Arabian Airlines and Flynas,

Fourth hall

Closed since the opening of the airport (TR-4), which will be rehabilitated to work on the next expansion plan.

Fifth Hall

The Fifth Terminal (TR-5) is a building on a total area of nearly 100 square meters, to accommodate 12 million passengers annually for domestic flights. The contract includes the construction of eight double gates connecting the terminal directly to aircraft, in addition to logistical facilities that include the construction of a road network linking the developed areas to the main road to and from The city of Riyadh, with the current terminals, and multi-storey parking that can accommodate 3000 cars, and once the passenger traffic is transferred from the third to the fifth terminals, the development of the third and fourth terminals will begin after signing with an alliance led by a German company with a value of 5.4 billion riyals, so that the airport will be able to accommodate 24 million passengers annually.

Royal Hall

It is the hall dedicated to the royal and official receptions of the state. The Royal Terminal is located at the western end of the airport. Its total area is about 28,500 square meters, and there is a ceremony square between the royal wing and the mosque, which is 12.50 in width and about 400 meters in length, and it also contains 12 aircraft stands

Private aviation lounge

It is the hall designated to receive aircraft owned by institutions and individuals, where they are served and provide support for aircraft of about 50 or more.

The airport is good and not very crowded at most of the time.

They have all the facilities and services you need plus to the good variety of food options and service store such as SIM card and bank.

The downside is The duty free which needs improvement in term of options. However, the recently opened terminal 5 is really good.

Arrivals was easy to follow and customs were surprisingly friendly. All custom personnel smiling, friendly. It gave us a personal and welcoming experience. Even thou the airport is big, it was really nice to arrive and see an Arab motif to every detail, but not modern. The airport is expanding, following the same patterns. Yes we have the Duty Free x without spirits and tobacco, but real Arab things. I had an impression of arriving on a regional airport. With friendly smiles.

As an idea for an excellent and good airport, but it has drawbacks:
The first is that they are surrounded by harem queries, Salamat Aji, ask her she says, why do you help me, yes?
The second thing is that the hall arrives longitudinally, which means if you change the boarding gate from 505A to 515A, you take it when you walk off, you can cut yourself off, and you can miss the plane after.
Thirdly, there is no coffee, and they are all expensive.
Fourth, there are no special rooms for children to not bother travelers.
