It was a tourist trap. Everything was super clean but a tourist trap none the less.
Excellent place to visit !! A great experience and an incredible view
This place is near to the Grand Canyon South Rim. Tickets for Jeep trip can be booked from this place. This place has a small gift shop. T-shirts, cups, souvenirs, CD's etc are available here. iMax Theater is located here. Video shows related to Grand Canyon are played here. Restrooms are available here. Parking is available in this place. Lot of food options are available near to this visitor center.
Not well laid out, but staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.
Actually I still don't understand why it's called the National geographic store when the only thing it sells is 3 magazines and 2 gadgets.
We stopped to visit it but it's not worth it unless you are interested in seeing an imax film always in the same structure.
Here they also organize excursions into the canyon with a pink jeep.
Breathtaking views. Not affected by global warming. Maybe in the next generation.
Place was very clean, food a bit expensive.. thankfully we got a free lunch with our bus tour!
The bathroom did not have hit water and the sinks were janky
Do you want an overpriced t-shirt? Do you need a bathroom? Do you like crappy food? Do you want to watch a great IMAX movie about the grand canyon? This is the place for you!
My wife and I visited this place 29 years ago on our honeymoon. Came back just for nostalgia. Fun time!
We went here because we were taking pink Jeep tours to the grand canyon. The movie was enjoyable and the staff friendly. Souvenirs are pricey, as to be expected, but overall it was nice.
Great alternative place to see cliff dwellings if you can't make it to Mesa Verde.
Very helpful if you have never been to the Grand Canyon.
It's just a gift shop and IMAX theater. I was hoping for directions on what to do and where to go.
Food options are alright, the IMAX film was a waste of time!
This is a special place I've been, that I will never forget in my whole life *****
Beautiful gifts. Great scenery . Loved watching the elk just walk on by
Expected more from Nat Geo. Decent gift store, IMAX educational but far from what I anticipated given the majesty of the Grand Canyon as a subject. Maybe worth a stop - maybe just best to proceed on to the real thing.
Clean, easy to locate, polite staff, and well-organized. There is a wide selection of gifts in the souvenir shop. Go see the Grand Canyon movie in their IMAX theater; it's a must as part of your GC trip.
Great Gift Shop !! a lot of Great items for purchasing so many things choose !! The very friendly staff was very Welcoming !! for my first experience at The Breathtaking Spectacular Gods Natural Wonder of the World !! This Shop has allowed me to take a little bit of this back to Georgia with me!
Best weather nice drive great views, unfortunately all their major attractions there are temp closed due to covid but still very enjoyable and relaxing visit , smaller crowds alot more clam and less hectic . Overall I prefer it calm and weather cant get any better but windy tho.
Great place. Convenient to buy park pass and ride the shuttle to the visitors center. The best way to visit the canyon was to let them do the driving.
A bit confusing for my taste but friendly and clean
Extraordinary! It is one of those natural beauties seen a thousand times between documentaries, videos, etc. but when you're in front of it it's still something else. He manages to give intense emotions at every glance, a true wonder
The name "National Geographic Visitor Center may create false expectations because this place is more a nice pit stop on your way to the park. There is a gift shop, restrooms, IMAX theater and a nice cafeteria. Overall very clean and not too overpriced.
Not really a visitor center offering information about the Grand Canyon, trails and such. This is just a shop and the main activity is selling paid experiences.
Very cool. The Park Rangers are knowledgeable and easy to approach.
Always enjoy a view of the Grand Canyon no matter the time of the year; it's a permanent grandiose spectacle....
The Grand Canyon is amazing! Truly showcases the grandeur of God! Truly spectacular, jaw dropping, heart stopping, awe inspiring!
Great place to visit year round. Fresh air and kind people can't beat that.
Nice place to stop before heading on to the Grand Canyon
Some unforgettable photos that are obtained in this place
No food options for vegans, maybe 1 salad option for GF, the coffee was barely room temp, the hot chocolate machine was empty, the tomatoes in my side salad had mold on them, and the food trays were dirty. The soup options were advertised as chicken noodle soup or soup of the day. In actuality it was chicken noodle soup and no soup of the day on the day I was there.
The staff were polite and helpful.
Don't go. Imax G.C. movie was hokey with silly, disjointed reenactments. Views of canyon you can see in person, and way more spectacular. A waste of money.
This visitor center is amazing. Had the chance to see the Grand Canyon Imax movie here. There is a fair priced gift shop and a mini food court as well, with Chinese and a Pizza Hut. I highly recommend the Pink Jeep tour (request Sam- he knows a lot about the Canyon and he's quick on the breaks if any Elk runs in the road).
This was our first time visiting Arizona through the Gray Line LAS VEGAS Tour bus from Nevada. We were on vacation and celebrating our friend's birthday along with mine in Vegas and planned this wonderful and educative trip . I will be back in the distant future.
- Noticeable from normal moving traffic.
- FREE public parking field customers.
- Wheelchair accessible entrance.
- FREE public restroom for customers.
- The National Geographic Gift shop has plenty of souvenirs to purchase and take back home.
I would definitely recommend the National Geographic Visitor Center to anybody visiting the State of Arizona. It's a learning experience!
The most impressive place I have visited, wonder of nature
Very informative. Good experience. Need more bathrooms! High demand!
This is an amazing stop, and I'm sure even better in late December and later in the day like we did.
I enjoyed taking a stroll through this area to see more of the Grand Canyon. Rhe sites are beautiful from this location as well. Would recommend.
Looks nice, everything was closed due to the pandemic
Loved it, would love to come back when warmer and hike the entire place
A big Visitor Center with souvenir merchandising, food for purchase, and IMAX theater.
This not a real visitors center. It is a privately owned business where you can book tours, buy souvenirs, and watch IMAX movies. They just put "visitors center" on the building to get people in the door.
Workers in the front office were courteous and welcoming. The room was tidy and clean. Decent necessities supplied for one's stay. Clean area. Enjoyed my visit and would definently come back.
