I called to inquire about some courses as i was unable to understand somethings online. I spoke to the lady named frankie or whatever and she is just of no use at all. All the questions i asked, i was told to look in to the website. I asked about transfer of courses i was again asked to go to the website and after listening to this usual and not so helpful answers i said i am just going to search it myself and she said ok bye and literally just hung up on me. Well guess what, you just lost one potential and very interested future student.
Thanks for nothing.

Look elsewhere for schooling; only apply here as a backup to your backup. My interaction with this school had me treated as "just a number." Very unreasonable and definitely felt like a bureaucracy. I've completed degrees at 2 other schools and every school can make you feel this way but this school has definitely been the worst.

Instructors in my department lacked the character required to hold the title of instructor. Teachers had no practical experience. If they did, they didnt see the need to share any of it with the class. In the classes with textbooks, the textbook was the teacher. In the classes without textbooks, nobody had a **** clue what was going on.
If you are truly interested in learning about state of the art technology, spend your money elsewhere.
Program: WIRELESS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

AVOID NAIT! SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH INSTRUCTORS AND ADMINISTRATION!
Enrolled with or thinking about going to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT)? If so, you need to know about the problems currently festering within this institution, especially with the instructors and administration. NAIT instructors lack proper credentials and professionalism, while the administrative staff is unqualified and inattentive to student needs. In fact, the entire administration lacks an organized structure, leading to long wait times, extensive delays, and unmet student concerns. By hiring, cheap, unqualified staff, failing to address gaps in their organizational structure, and delaying or denying refunds to students, NAIT clearly cares more about saving or making money and less about its students.
NAIT hires instructors that lack the proper credentials to teach at the postsecondary level. Many of these instructors are recent foreign immigrants that lack fluency in the language, fail to teach their subject matter properly, violate professional ethics, and lack familiarity with NAIT's disability policies. In particular, the business program hires many instructors with degrees in foreign countries. Since the education in some countries differs from that in Canada, I fully believe that these instructors should obtain Canadian credentials and communicate clearly in English.
In addition, many of the foreign instructors lack the ability to teach effectively. For example, my FNCE 2280 Investment instructor Asim Y. spent much of the class time discussing American politics unrelated to the topic of investment rather than teaching the assigned class material specified on the syllabus. In TAXX3312 Taxation, the instructor H. failed to provide any teaching material on Moodle, neglected to provide feedback and grade on my taxation case, and disclosed my private medical information to another student. Finally, my MGMT4419 instructor N. constantly made rude and sarcastic comments to students in discussion forums and changed the textbook in the middle of the course without providing any notification to students.
Lastly, many instructors lack knowledge of NAIT's disability policies and openly refuse to accommodate students with disabilities or fail to properly follow the procedures for accommodation. My FNCE 2280 instructor, mentioned in the preceding paragraph, disregarded my medical documentation and failed to provide the mandated accommodation as per students with disabilities requiring extended time for tests and examinations. After further questioning on my part, he extended the time for all students, thus providing students without disabilities with an unfair advantage over their counterparts with disabilities.
Not only does NAIT hire unqualified and poorly trained instructors but they also suffer from a poor administrative structure. Many times, I have contacted the Dean's Office to request meetings, report issues, or raise concerns about serious problems within the school, including poor instructor quality, safety and security breaches, parking violations, refund requests, or medical issues. However, I have found the Dean's Office extremely unresponsive, as they failed to respond to many emails and phone calls. Former Dean Tracey Scarlett even ignored two requests for a meeting with her despite the fact that she seems to have sufficient time for her social media accounts. Similar to NAIT instructors, Dean Scarlett lacked the appropriate credentials for her position; although she has a medical education (undergraduate degree), she served as dean in the Business School.
NAIT suffers from several internal weaknesses, including poorly qualified and trained teaching and administrative staff, bureaucratic disorganization, poor ethical practices, and a lack of concern for students with disabilities. Due to all of these issues, I highly recommend that you avoid NAIT when deciding upon your institution of choice.

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE!People working in NAIT are horrible, I would be saying nothing if I was calling it horrible, to be honest. I was happy to be accepted back in March and I was really excited to move to Edmonton to start my studies! i was supposed to start May 4th 2015, so from the time I got my letter of acceptance till May 4 I was patiently waiting to see the schedule. Around May 15 I find out that I AM DOING ONLINE COURSE which is not acceptable by Canadian Immigration if you are willing to immigrate throuhg study. Honestly I called this place 200 times asking WHEN will the schedule be ready, and every time I was getting same answer "it is to be announced". I am extremely dissappointed with this place. I spent 7000 bucks for NOTHING, and that is because of the extreme improfessionality and ignorance of all the staff working in NAIT. I am an international student, and I spent all my money to get at least a little tiny chance to immigrate to Canada and NAIT's improfessional stuff took that chance from me and took all my money. Moreover, when I was trying to fix the situation and get accepted by a different college I asked nait's stuff to email me an official letter that would state that I'm not a student anymore, they refused to do so becase "they are not supposed to issue such documents". Really??? I paid you whole bunch of money and you dare to say that???!!! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS INSTITUTION, ESPECIALLY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS! NAIT WILL RIPP YOU OFF AND MAKE YOU GO HOME LIKE THEY DID WITH ME! HORRIBLE STAFF WORKS IN NAIT!

Wouldn't say it's the most advanced technical school in Alberta, but the instructors and courses are amazing. I finished my diploma and currently working on continuing education here and have had no problems. Yes, pricey, but education in Alberta comes with a price. Every year I visit this place, seems like they have new buildings popping up. The LRT station at NAIT is a good upgrade recently as this helps transportation for students. Wish they had this LRT station when I was in school. You get your money's worth.

One female staff working here was a bit too authoritarian when it came to enforcing covid rules. It happened during the evening for a one-day certification class. Since I'm not a FT student there, I'm not familiar with this campus. I was having a difficult time finding the classroom, there was no one around me, and she came out of nowhere, and rudely insisted I follow the arrows. I want to emphasize again that there was no one around me, AND I was wearing a mask. Viruses don't attack if people don't follow arrows taped on the wall. That's not how viral transmissions work. What an imbecile.
