I visited the hotel as a wedding guest. A block of rooms were reserved for the guests. The location of the hotel was very nice right off of interstate 95 and close to the wedding venue which was the Branford House. The room was nice and clean and updated. The only issue was the toilet which would not stop running so we had to stick our hands in the back of the toilet bowl every time we flushed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. However they did not mention anything to us about the $50 deposit/hold that would be put on our card for any damages. Over all it was a decent hotel. I can't see spending the usual amount of money to stay there though. We got a discounted rate.

We were here for a dance competition. This was not the best place to hold it as they had a ballroom, not a stage. Concession prices from the hotel were quite expensing, but the Starbucks was convienient

This hotel is AMAZING!! For the price and what you get it is WELL worth it!! My fiance and I stayed here to go to see Brantly Gilbert and Dylan Scott which was very convenient being 15 min away. The rooms were very modern and upscale. Very clean, staff was very friendly and offering assistance throughout our stay. They have a buffet breakfast that was better than any hotel I've ever stayed in. It was real fresh food not that processed stale taste. A chef makes omletes with your fillings right in front of you. They have a upscale restaurant called the OCTAGON it is pricey but well worth it. We had ours delivered via room service!! Their filet mignon is to die for. I highly recommend this hotel and I will be staying with them again

Good

I don't know why I gave this hotel a second chance. The first time my boyfriend and I stayed here, we were awoken at 8 in the morning to the sound of hammering from the on going construction. Additionally, our fridge never worked. In Marriott's defense, we didn't ask for another room and kind of just toughed it out...but I was kind of disgruntled that they didn't think of those complications in the first place and had us on the 3rd floor instead of putting us on the 6th, which I had originally requested when I booked online. This weekend, I decided I would try the Mystic Marriott again. They just finished construction, and I've stayed in the Marriott in DC before which was very nice and wonderful. This was my first mistake.

The Mystic Marriott is beautiful, I'll give them that. But to start things off, the walls are PAPER thin. Like, you can hear everything happening in the halls outside. There was some event going on downstairs, and my boyfriend and I were awoken at 1am to people talking very loudly outside our room. Okay, I get it, Marriott. They were likely very drunk coming from the event, but then there were multiple parties that passed our room outside talking at room level and you could practically feel like you're apart of the conversation from inside your room. The new wooden floor style that Marriott has opted for in their redesigned rooms means that conversations from outside your room carry through your room very easily. Additionally, the door is so thin that it doesn't shield any noise from outside of it. Just as my luck would have it, we also were placed in a room next to a family with small children. I totally understand that kids will be kids, and no parent can control when their small one is going to throw a tantrum. But it was absolutely WONDERFUL to wake up at 7am to small ones running around in the room next door, on these chic wooden hotel floors, which vibrate sound right next door to your neighbor. Especially after waking up several times in the night from people conversing up and down the hallways. (I m being sarcastic, if you can t tell.)

My advice is don't stay here. If your military, stay at the Navy Lodge - I've never had an issue there. If you're not, get an Airbnb or stay at another hotel. The 4.4 rating this hotel has is from before the redesign, when the doors to the hallways were thicker and the rooms were carpeted. My romantic weekend getaway with my boyfriend turned into waking up in the middle of the night and early in the morning to things that shouldn't wake you up in a normal hotel. I am so annoyed that the answer to this issue would have just been "ask for another room". I shouldn't have to ask for another room, Marriott. You should plan properly and give rooms to your guests keeping in mind how busy that hallway might be with guests going to an event, or putting a family with children in a room and keeping guests from rooming right next to them because small children like to wake up early. I'm never making the mistake of staying here again.

The hotel staff when we arrived at 3am was just as pleasant and helpful as you would expect at 3pm. I can not fathom someone needing to know this, but when your airline screws you as hard as united screwed us, this hotel with nice and helpful people was like a beacon of sunshine on a dank dismal horizon.

Was attending a wedding nearby. Supposedly guaranteed check-in at 4 pm but room was not ready. Followed up around 4:30 pm still nothing. Was headed to wedding but told I would receive a call letting me know my room was ready but never got one. Rooms were fairly modern but a bit pricey.

The new renovation removed the doors from the Octagon, changing it from a quiet restaurant to a noisy one. The lack of doors and the hard surfaces cause noises to echo and amplify.

We went for the Mother's day brunch. The food selection was amazing. Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked steak, phenomenal sides, omelet station, and quite the dessert spread. The overall experience was great, but wish the service was a little better. The server seemed to have an attitude, but did not take away from the overall experience. Third year taking part in their brunch. I highly recommend!

Newly renovated lobby and rooms. Love the new layout and renovations. The rooms are modern and clean. The floors are laminate so very different from the carpeted floors they had before. I personally liked them but some people prefer carpet. I wish they had given me slippers to wear in the room as that would have made it more comfortable.

Stayed two nights recently for a conference. Great accommodations... clean room with a couch. Nice touch when wanting to relax without sitting on the bed. Friendly, polite staff all around. One BIG thing I was disappointed about was the lack of recycling of soda, seltzer, and other beverage bottles. Yikes! Does this happen at every conference/convention here? I would have given the place five stars if the Marriott did a better job with recycling.

Horrible experience. Tried to check in and my family was turned away and sent to an Inn because the hotel was over booked. We Booked the trip 3 weeks prior and they try and call us 48 minutes before we arrived.

Great
