Very nice hotel very clean, they must of just remodeled it
I visited the hotel as a wedding guest. A block of rooms were reserved for the guests. The location of the hotel was very nice right off of interstate 95 and close to the wedding venue which was the Branford House. The room was nice and clean and updated. The only issue was the toilet which would not stop running so we had to stick our hands in the back of the toilet bowl every time we flushed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. However they did not mention anything to us about the $50 deposit/hold that would be put on our card for any damages. Over all it was a decent hotel. I can't see spending the usual amount of money to stay there though. We got a discounted rate.
Was very Kleen and the staff was friendly and helpful had Starbucks bar and restaurant on premises would stay there again
The event was wonderful and the service was excellent. Food great, drinks great!!!!
Great location, 20 minutes from casino. Friendly staff and clean rooms.
Fred Astaire dance competition held here was a blast! Easy parking. Clean hotel. Will use again.
The hotel was beautiful. Very well maintain and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Beautiful hotel with very nice rooms and food. The staff at the bar was amazing and definitely made sure the drinks were always full!
We were here for a dance competition. This was not the best place to hold it as they had a ballroom, not a stage. Concession prices from the hotel were quite expensing, but the Starbucks was convienient
Modern, clean, very nice. Check in was super fast and upgraded as per my marrriot status. Late check out was not a problem. Hot breakfast buffet was not bad either.
Good location for you to explor the historic new england area.
NIce, clean, helpful staff. Came here for our reunion. Very well done.
This hotel is AMAZING!! For the price and what you get it is WELL worth it!! My fiance and I stayed here to go to see Brantly Gilbert and Dylan Scott which was very convenient being 15 min away. The rooms were very modern and upscale. Very clean, staff was very friendly and offering assistance throughout our stay. They have a buffet breakfast that was better than any hotel I've ever stayed in. It was real fresh food not that processed stale taste. A chef makes omletes with your fillings right in front of you. They have a upscale restaurant called the OCTAGON it is pricey but well worth it. We had ours delivered via room service!! Their filet mignon is to die for. I highly recommend this hotel and I will be staying with them again
Beautiful layout and grounds. Close to the casinos.
Has the best Concierge Lounge I've been in for dinner. It's worth the upgrade. Let's just hope Marriott doesn't mess it up after they move to the M Club format.
All facilities were clean and modern. Wait staff in the restaurant were exceptional.
I don't know why I gave this hotel a second chance. The first time my boyfriend and I stayed here, we were awoken at 8 in the morning to the sound of hammering from the on going construction. Additionally, our fridge never worked. In Marriott's defense, we didn't ask for another room and kind of just toughed it out...but I was kind of disgruntled that they didn't think of those complications in the first place and had us on the 3rd floor instead of putting us on the 6th, which I had originally requested when I booked online. This weekend, I decided I would try the Mystic Marriott again. They just finished construction, and I've stayed in the Marriott in DC before which was very nice and wonderful. This was my first mistake.
The Mystic Marriott is beautiful, I'll give them that. But to start things off, the walls are PAPER thin. Like, you can hear everything happening in the halls outside. There was some event going on downstairs, and my boyfriend and I were awoken at 1am to people talking very loudly outside our room. Okay, I get it, Marriott. They were likely very drunk coming from the event, but then there were multiple parties that passed our room outside talking at room level and you could practically feel like you're apart of the conversation from inside your room. The new wooden floor style that Marriott has opted for in their redesigned rooms means that conversations from outside your room carry through your room very easily. Additionally, the door is so thin that it doesn't shield any noise from outside of it. Just as my luck would have it, we also were placed in a room next to a family with small children. I totally understand that kids will be kids, and no parent can control when their small one is going to throw a tantrum. But it was absolutely WONDERFUL to wake up at 7am to small ones running around in the room next door, on these chic wooden hotel floors, which vibrate sound right next door to your neighbor. Especially after waking up several times in the night from people conversing up and down the hallways. (I m being sarcastic, if you can t tell.)
My advice is don't stay here. If your military, stay at the Navy Lodge - I've never had an issue there. If you're not, get an Airbnb or stay at another hotel. The 4.4 rating this hotel has is from before the redesign, when the doors to the hallways were thicker and the rooms were carpeted. My romantic weekend getaway with my boyfriend turned into waking up in the middle of the night and early in the morning to things that shouldn't wake you up in a normal hotel. I am so annoyed that the answer to this issue would have just been "ask for another room". I shouldn't have to ask for another room, Marriott. You should plan properly and give rooms to your guests keeping in mind how busy that hallway might be with guests going to an event, or putting a family with children in a room and keeping guests from rooming right next to them because small children like to wake up early. I'm never making the mistake of staying here again.
Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Staff is excellent. Worth the stay. Near everything
I was there for a dance convention. The staff were all nice and accommodating
The hotel staff when we arrived at 3am was just as pleasant and helpful as you would expect at 3pm. I can not fathom someone needing to know this, but when your airline screws you as hard as united screwed us, this hotel with nice and helpful people was like a beacon of sunshine on a dank dismal horizon.
Attention to detail, clean rooms, excellent food and service, and beautiful locale. This is a place I'd love to return to!
Went for a wedding reception. The hall was lovely. Everyone was very helpful in directing me to which hall I should be in. Lovely place.
Was attending a wedding nearby. Supposedly guaranteed check-in at 4 pm but room was not ready. Followed up around 4:30 pm still nothing. Was headed to wedding but told I would receive a call letting me know my room was ready but never got one. Rooms were fairly modern but a bit pricey.
The new renovation removed the doors from the Octagon, changing it from a quiet restaurant to a noisy one. The lack of doors and the hard surfaces cause noises to echo and amplify.
We went for the Mother's day brunch. The food selection was amazing. Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked steak, phenomenal sides, omelet station, and quite the dessert spread. The overall experience was great, but wish the service was a little better. The server seemed to have an attitude, but did not take away from the overall experience. Third year taking part in their brunch. I highly recommend!
I went for a short 4 hour event in one of their amazing ball rooms.
A lot of their operations closed for COVID, but a very nice conference hotel. Comfortable beds. Well appointed rooms. Quiet.
Newer hotel with clean rooms, nice gym, good restaurant, and great service.
Nice hotel, very clean & spacious. But Not enough parking for large Conventions or Conferences.
It's was busy, but staff handled it great. Great room great service and great food!
Nice comfortable room. Got the corner room that easily sleeps 5. Service was good and have plenty to do with spa, fitness room and pool. Close to Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium.
Great room. Very helpful and funny front desk staff. Even the houskeepers I encountered were friendly
This property is easy to access from the highway. The grounds and hotel are both in great condition.
Spacious banquet facilities, good catered food with friendly banquet staff.
Newly renovated lobby and rooms. Love the new layout and renovations. The rooms are modern and clean. The floors are laminate so very different from the carpeted floors they had before. I personally liked them but some people prefer carpet. I wish they had given me slippers to wear in the room as that would have made it more comfortable.
Very nice and helpful staff. Nice room! And great cookies+milk
Service is excellent and newly renovated rooms are sleek and stylish.
, I work there with a special needs client on the weekends, and every staff member that we come in contact with is nothing short of five star perfection
Both the hotel and spa are wonderful, as are the banquet facilities. The food is of high quality and is well prepared. Food is also attractively displayed during banquets.
I liked it so nice and the shower was really nice plus I felt safe
Perfect place to stay and feel away from everything. Very accommodating, but can be a bit pricy in terms of room service and options. Great amenities.
The hotel is beautiful, great amenities, great bar, coffee shop.
I wish the rooms were a little bigger
Huge even rooms and the staff were very helpful/ respectful.
Stayed two nights recently for a conference. Great accommodations... clean room with a couch. Nice touch when wanting to relax without sitting on the bed. Friendly, polite staff all around. One BIG thing I was disappointed about was the lack of recycling of soda, seltzer, and other beverage bottles. Yikes! Does this happen at every conference/convention here? I would have given the place five stars if the Marriott did a better job with recycling.
The spa facilities are excellent and the lobby is a great place for doing business. Manager Paul graciously brought me a Saratoga water while I worked. First class service!
We had a family gathering in the backroom of The Octagon. Food was delicious. Wait staff was exceptional. Thank you.
Hotel was very spacious. Great interior. Starbucks and bar were good. Unable to have breakfast, but looked good.
Awesome Hotel, the lobby is a great place to hang out and have delicious drinks from the bar!
Nicely appointed lobby with good decore and options, a bar, restaurant and Starbucks as well as a spa.
Came here for a corporate event. Decent event space and catering. Rooms don't seem to have been updated. Didn't have time for the lounge so cannot comment. Friendly staff.
I have never been to a Marriott that didn't impress me and make me feel welcome. I have been a Marquis member for nearly thirty years and I would choose Marriott over any other hotel brand!
Horrible experience. Tried to check in and my family was turned away and sent to an Inn because the hotel was over booked. We Booked the trip 3 weeks prior and they try and call us 48 minutes before we arrived.
Clean bed, nice complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion, etc.)
Spa experience was calming, relaxing and my Mani/pedi is perfect!
I attended an event here and the staff made me feel like a superstar. They were attentive and did a great job of catering to a large group seamlessly.
Lovely hotel and great catering for their conference rooms
