Would leave a higher rating if it wasn't a 4 star hotel. My room looked out to the rooftop and a tall white wall around its perimeter. Couldn't see anything but the wall and a little sky, and the windows were quite dirty. Not a big deal for a business stay, but if we're paying weekend prices at a 4 Star hotel, it seems sub-par. ($876 incl. taxes for two nights) Needed to go down to the desk at one point on Saturday evening and couldn't find someone to acknowledge me for five minutes. That said, the rooms were kept clean and breakfast service was nice.

We had dinner at restaurant in the hotel. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the food. My brother did order steak which was recommended by our waitress, and that was not good. Came out way over cooked and dry. For 40$ I had high expectations. Overall the experience was good.

The wings at the resturant are great! Nice quiet, clean and proffesional atmospere. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel. It was never too busy to walk right up, very quick delivery of my coffee. Thank you for a great experience.

They overbooked the hotel and just dealt with it very poorly. Sent us to a room without a bed first. Like they thought we wouldn't notice? When we went back down they admitted they didn't have any rooms left for both nights. After wasting a bunch of our time "checking things" they came up with a plan for us to stay in a room for the first night, then pack up all our stuff and hopefully they will have another room available for us tomorrow afternoon. But during the day we are SOL. We booked three months in advance.

*Update: They salvaged the situation pretty well in the morning. Had a new room available for us quickly and gave us a nice discount on the room. Breakfast was good. Morning staff seemed more competent. Upgrading from one star to two.

The hotel was super clean. The beds and pillows are comfy. Everyone was friendly. It's in a good location. I have a few very minor complaints. The refrigerator was luke-warm. I'm not even sure what the point of that was. I wish that there were more hooks/places to hang towels in the bathroom. The pool area could have been ventilated a little better. Silly stuff. Everything was quite beautiful and I'm glad that we chose this location.

It was a nice hotel. Everyone was very friendly. There is a spa and a restaurant and all the amenities really. I feel like the room is a bit small and the hotel wasn't anything special When considering the price point. They do like to sneak on additional fees; charge you extra for decent WiFi, charge you to use the hotel phone, even for local calls Etc. I feel this is normal for a nicer hotels though. The hotel is about 20 minutes (with no traffic) from the Mohegan Sun Casino, which is why I stayed there. The drive to the casino is less than straightforward though. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. You're not too far from the interstate. Good location.

We went to The Octagon for a steak dinner. Food was incredible and the staff was very friendly. A little bit of a wait time in between drinks and food and such but that can happen at places like this. Overall it's definitely worth the wait and the prices weren't outrageous.

I have stayed at this hotel every 2 years for the last decade. Have not had a bad experience once. If you are staying in CT for any reason this is definitely a place to consider. The staff at this location is 5 Star top notch. The restaurant and bar in the lobby is just as good. Check it out.

We had a fabulous experience at this particular Marriott. We stayed on labor day weekend and the room rates were not much higher than a regular weekend. We checked in a bit on the late side but it was a memorable and easy experience. We got a room on the sixth floor around the corner from the large concierge lounge. The bedding was soft and luxurious, the large bathroom had a tabletop vanity mirror, a nice touch that was well appreciated when flat ironing my hair and applying makeup for an evening out at Mohegan Sun. The view from our room was simply breathe taking. The room had all of the amenities one would expect from Marriott, the cleanest chain of hotels on earth never seems to disappoint. The lobby is truly beautiful, well appointed with news playing softly on the tv. The fitness center was large, clean and boasted impressive equipment. It is tucked away near the spa so no one can watch you while you burn off the calories from the decadent Octogon restaurant. The pool was perfect, with an outdoor patio on the other side. The red door spa was buzzing with happy people, including one adorable little patron of maybe 8 that was so proud of her new style! The continental breakfast had a startling variety of fruits, meat, oatmeal, pastries, cereal, breads, and far more. There was an optional omelet bar for only a tiny bit more but we aren't omelet lovers so we passed on it. We've stayed in many hotels but Marriott has the best offerings of freshly prepared breakfast fare of any hotel. If you can imagine it, it'll be available. I was especially fond of the oatmeal add ins and variety of fruit, while my husband went traditional with eggs, bacon, delicious square home fries and such. Our server, a man named Tim, was attentive and warm. My only regret is that we only had a 5 dollar bill to tip and because the breakfast is included with platinum rewards we couldn't add it on a credit card. The Starbucks in the lobby has nearly everything a typical full sized location would, and the staff seemed happy to be there. I had immediately deactivated my room key on my magnetic cell phone case like an idiot and i felt too pathetic to get a new one at the desk, so i couldn't take the elevator up to the sixth floor. I had to get off on the fifth and take the stairs, but that is how i discovered that even the stairwell well clean and well maintained. I cannot describe how enchanting this spacious hotel is. If you are deciding on a room in the area, this hotel was highly recommended to us and we will pass that along in a heartbeat. My favorite part of the stay was most definitely the staff. Everyone in the building from the front desk, the server, the hosts, the restaurant manager that stopped by the tables, the stylist, the person tending to the pool, the bellhop-esque employee, the starbucks baristas, EVERY employee seemed happy to be there and gave a warm genuine smile.

While the structure is elegant and the rooms are nice with good location right off I-95 there is one issue that was quite frustrating. While I didn't come to watch TV in this hotel room I almost would have preferred if they didn't have a TV at all. The 'tailored' TV service had far fewer channels than on the TV listing provided and the delay in switching made me anxious just from waiting. I haven't had cable for over 12 years at home so it is always a treat when I have cable in the hotel rooms I stay in for work, this was not.

Great place for the money. Staff are nice and accommodating as they were prompt in responding to my special requests. The rooms are redone now and have a more contemporary look. Rooms are big enough and feel good... i didn't like the floors or why they clean them. The floors are laminate and with extra cleaning product it felt slippery and I almost slipped.
Otherwise I like this place and will continue to stay here.

Convenient. Right off 95, close to old mystik village, downtown and aquarium. Modern rooms, just redone. Beds very comfortable, nice shower. Red Door Spa, pool, hot tub, restaurant. Food is decent. Starbucks in lobby. Excellent and friendly staff. Plenty of free parking. NOTE. this is a convention and wedding hotel. If you want a peaceful weekend, ask when making reservations. If you don't mind it a bit louder (hallways and bar) and lively, you're good. Our weekend stay was good.

Besides free parking and ample hot water, there's little else to note. Check-in involved interacting with an unhelpful employee, the food at the restaurant was mediocre and the service was even worse, and then there's the Concierge Lounge which is easily one of the worst lounges I have ever experienced in the Marriott or SPG family. I travel to Connecticut quite often for work and will never stay here again.

Great Marriott hotel! Kind of in the boonies, but it is clean, and the rooms are large and updated. Several craft beers on draft in the lobby bar. Meeting space is very nice and the staff goes out of their way to make things great!

Nice rooms, clean facility, great pool. We called and asked for our rooms to be together. They did some switching and said it was all set. By the time we got there, they'd moved two of our party upstairs away from the rest of the group into a room with one queen bed. Also, the last day our shower was clogged and wouldn't drain at all. We figured it out ourselves and showered in a friends room. The hotel staff didn't seem to care at all. And its a small thing, but the fridge was turned all the way off so our drinks weren't cold the first day. Facilities were nice, staffed seemed too overwhelmed to pay attention to the details.
