Very nice museum to discover the designer. The main part of the museum relates to tintin so to all amateurs or connoisseurs of the world of comics I recommend. And even if you are not necessarily familiar with the 9th art (Like me) you will also find your happiness by old memories of childhood.

The museum is very nice but I had a very bad experience in the shop with the guy who was there. There was a game displayed in the shop with a price and when I went to pay, he said the price was different. I pointed out at the price on display but, instead of apologizing, he started to behave in a very rude manner. I would not mind to pay more for the item, but I do not accept such a behaviour if I am a client in a shop. Persons like that should not work in sales. He definitely had no manners. I will write a formal complain to the museum.

This is one of those must see places of you are a Tintin fanatic like I am. Keep in mind that this isn't necessarily a Tintin museum. It's more a museum dedicated to Herge and his life. It of course has a lot of Tintin exhibits explaining how each of the characters evolved which was wonderful to see. It has a gift shop and a cafe as well. The museum itself is about an hour away from Brussels central but is easily accessed using a train to Louvain La Nouve. Not a lot going on in that town other than the museum. Lots of kids there so I an guessing there is a school or a college nearby. If you don't want to have the expensive food in the cafe there are a few options in the square outside the museum.

Awesome for any Herge/Tintin fan. Extremely hard to find given it is attached to a university campus undergoing massive renovation. As a result, satnav directions just don't work. Both the large underground car parks nearby and the campus would benefit from clearer and more obvious signs directing the visitor to the Museum.
The only let-down is the shop. It isn't selling anything you can't get in Tintin outlets in, say, London. Missing a trick here also, by not selling Tintin DVDs.

Either Tintin lover or not, this museum is amazing. Not just about Tintin but also other Herge work. In this museum you will understand that Tintin is not just comics but also Herge politics opinion. That's why is named as Herge museum because finally it's about Herge himself.

It tells the story of Herge like nothing else. You see that Tintin (Kuifje) is only a part of what he is, although the most famous part. But Herge was much more.

Free entry on first Sunday every month ... skip the gift shop.

I loved all of the history and thought processes that went into all of the pieces here! To see the evolution of the character Tin Tin to just being inside the mind of Herge/Georges Prosper Remi ! I would certainly love to visit again.

My son loves Tintin and was taken to the Herge museum as a treat while we were in Belgium. The whole family were very impressed with the layout of the museum and enjoyed discovering all about the author.

One of the best museums I have visited.

Informative. The audio guide adds to the experience. If you're a Tintin fan then you really should make a trip out here. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any Farsi books on display...but they are hard to come by (the original Farsi Tintin translations).
