It's truly a pleasure to visit the Louvre. I had been some years back and I still feel like I'm there for the very first time. Covering all parts of history, there's almost no way you won't find something you'll be interested in.

One of the famous landmark of Paris. Million art-crafts here. It s worthy to spend a whole day here to appreciate the splendide masterpiece of the all the artist from the old times. But still many people selling souvenirs and asking for questionnaire right out of the louvre museum. Don t forget to take a museum guide map because it really big building and easily get lost for taking hours finding the direction. Better to wear a good shoes for walking within this magnificent museum.

Allow plenty of time to go through each level. There is so much to see, and it is well worth it. A bucket list stop, just be gentle to yourself. Luckily there's a cafe that has many delicious options. Highly Suggest, for all audiences.

it's hard to believe that this is one of the biggest, most famous, and most visited museums in the world but once you're here you realize exactly why it's all of those reasons and more. this is a must stop if you're a tourist and you don't even have to spend a long time here. we came in and got out in about 90+ minutes because of course you do need a bit of time to appreciate the work. i highly suggest you don't get lost because it will happen and keep a close eye to where the exit is while you're walking through the exhibits.

I loved this place. If your are an art lover, this place is a paradise for you. One day is not enough to visit the entire museum. But still you can visit the main attractions including the famous Mona Lisa.
Guided tours and audio guides are available but with an additional price. I would recommend going with a guide as it will give you a very different perspective about the art and the place.
I have a great experience and highly recommend Louvre Museum for someone who is in Paris and have not been to this amazing place.

Beautiful place, a lot of arts and very diverse. The only note to make is that they could have at least english translations at every exhibit. The more popular ones already have explanations in multiple languages, but the lesser known ones do not, which is disappointing. Service however is great and you get in free under a certain age. The wifi is not very good at all places. The temperature is pleasant everywhere for the area. The staff keeps distance during COVID-19, but the tourists do not, the rules could be more inforced.

A stunning museum to explore inside and out, decent price for entry fee and lots of very interesting things to see/ learn a out. Get here early though as it gets busy fast and many people make a B line for the Mona Lisa painting which then becomes very manic to try and see.

Spent a great 6 hours there, but didn't manage to see everything. If you're going to take even a little time in each room and want to see everything you'll be there all day, morning until closing so make sure you prioritise which sections of the museum you want to visit before you go.

I mean it s the Louvre, how can you NOT go?? It is crowded and people will bump into you. There is a line to see certain pieces. Is it worth it? YES. It s a once in a lifetime opportunity to see works of art from around the world. Make sure you go when the Egyptian exhibit is open, we made that mistake the first time.

Go later in the day as the crowds are gone and you feel like your in the movie...Night at The Museum..as nobody is around and nobody is in your way to take pictures. They have a great cafe and the information booth gave us hand written directions to take the $2 euro bus round trip back to our apartment. Buy the museum pass as we did if staying in Paris for a few days.

A must go place in Paris. Louvre is huge and incredible. Definitely should be there in your bucket list of Paris visit. Really worth visiting. World's largest art museum. I would suggest you to book entry pass online if the visit is planned for weekend so that you can avoid large queue over there. We spent around 5 hours inside museum and still couldn't cover the whole parts. Don't expect to get everything done in a day, they provide map brochures in different languages inside museum, you can plan your way around to see what you feel like you need to. Lovely and approachable staffs too.

NB: beware of pickpockets around the attractions as well as in Metro.

It s a wonderful museum! You definitely can t cover all that the Louvre has to offer within a day. It s a 650,000 sq foot palace with over 35,000 pieces of artwork. Instead, make sure you check the main ones if you re looking for an express and immersive visit, to grab the highlights of the Louvre.

Bought tickets online on the morning of our visit to find the museum closed due to covid-19 upon arrival. Which is fine, but...
1. Why are you still allowing visitors to purchase tickets on your website when you know you are closed? I checked in the afternoon and the website was still selling tickets for that day.
2. No email sent out to visitors advising closure. How hard can that be?
3. Staff standing outside of the entrance charged to explain the situation to visitors were rude and arrogant.
4. Numerous emails requesting refund and patiently waited for 5 months, still haven't heard back. Not even an email.

I can understand things are hard because of Covid-19 but after 5 months, i think this is a matter of incompetence. What a joke coming from an internationally acclaimed museum.

Absolutely in love with this place. It is huge so I would recommend spending a day or two if you really wanna go through everything. wasn t too crowded overall except around the Mona Lisa where it was a stampede. There is something for everyone here, it ranges in different time periods and art forms. It surpasses anything we have in Canada in terms of an art museum. They have cute gift shops all around which is convenient. I came from Canada to visit and got the membership which I would recommend considering it was almost the same price as single admission and the line was shorter.p

The Louvre museum, as an architectural landmark, i...

The Louvre museum, as an architectural landmark, is one of the highest pinnacles of human engineering, art, and construction. The building is imposing, awesome, and inspiring. The grandeur of it, below ground and above ground, make you feel proud to be a human being. It makes you want to become better. This idea directly reflects the contents of the Louvre - artists, at the height of their careers, all throughout human history, all trying to become better, sharing ideas, stories, and emotions about humans, for other humans to experience. It is an incredible collection that you can get lost in, and can easily be overwhelming. My suggestion: Pick a painting or sculpture that interests you, even just slightly. Stand in front of it. Observe and discuss internally what is going on in the painting. Notice the small things. Then look it up on your phone, and read about the history. Then look at the art some more. I use this process just to become closer to the art, because art and human history cannot be one without the other, and it makes me feel connected. Then, when I share these ideas about any work of art with other humans, I close the circle of the Louvre and the sharing process of art continues. Sharing has been done throughout all of human history, and by coming to the Louvre and experiencing even only a tiny fraction of the art within, you will leave knowing more about humanity and what really brings us together in this world.

It feels very weird to review the Louvre; because it doesn't need reviews? It's the Louvre. You don't just "stumble" upon the Louvre and wonder what it's like inside. With that said, here are some tips. Buy the tickets online, going in is so much easier and the website that it's the only way to get a guarantee a ticket. Go in the morning (when it opens at 9AM) and on a weekday if you can (It's closed on Tuesdays). Ask yourself, do you really need to wait in a long line to take a photo of the Mona Lisa on your phone? Isn't it good enough to just walk by the lines and get a glimpse? Yes, the Museum is huge and it would take you days to see all the art pieces but there are only so many French paintings your brain can comprehend and distinguish.

Why not 5 stars you ask? Maybe its because I find fault it most things haha, but this place is a poorly directed maze, although it was easy enough to find the Mona Lisa (of which there was a huge queue to stand in front of it), probably better to just walk around the queue, you ll still get to see it, unless you re all about that close up selfie life.

Some real nice art work and sculptures, although I m not too much into it, but it was a nice experience so I d recommend going. Getting out was tricky, it takes you into a shopping centre where its pot luck which exit you actually take. Go anyway! ;)

The Louvre museum is truly a must see, but don't take a tour that includes this as you will be racing through to see the iconic pieces and miss all the rest. This museum needs to be savoured like a fine wine and may take a few days to see it all. The Mona Lisa as everyone has mentioned is small and the wait is horrific, but if you are like me, it is a must see to say I laid eyes on this masterpiece. I plan on going back to Paris just for more time in this amazing Museum.

Of all museums in the world Louvre, for me, is the most beautiful collection of arts. Apart from famous "Mona Lisa" and "David" there's a beautiful ancient section with Assyrian sculptures that make you feel like you visit an entire new world. Couple of months there wouldn't be sufficient to even sratch the surface. Place of wonder, outside with it's classical exterior and novel Pyramid to chambers opulent with greatness.

It is a great museum, but personally i wasn't extremely impressed. Maybe because it is huge and in one point it becomes exhausting to go from one side to another to see everything. Living behind that you must to wait on the line to see Mona Lisa and when you get finally to see it is only for a few moments. The only thing i really enjoyed was Napoleon apartment, but again is on the last floor so you must cross all the chambers until there. Minus that when i was there the Da Vinci paintings was in a private exhibition,so basically the only thing i saw was Mona Lisa and the tickets for the private one was sold from one month before. Well was one thing to see in a lifetime, but for sure Louvre is not so OMG how they describing it. At list not for me.

Budget 4 hours - 1 day for your visit here, not including queue time which can get long. The Mona Lisa has it's own queue which could take 5-15 minutes depending on when you visit. There is simply an incredible amount of art to see here, and inevitably you'll need to make sacrifices for skipping certain areas or going through them really quickly to ensure you can see the most famous works and decide some time towards learning about some of the art. Audio guides cost extra and are done via a Nintendo 3DS which is helpful but not necessary.

You're going to spend a lot of time at this museum and you should. I recommend giving yourself at least 6 hours at the Louvre. It is easily the best museum that you will visit. You will spend a lot of time outside taking photos before you ever go into the louvre and the area is set up for that. Once inside the museum I appreciate that there is a dining area and you immediately get directions to the Mona Lisa...which by the way is tiny. Reasonably priced for such a great museum. Even if you don't want to pay to get in, the people watching at the Louvre on the outside can be very enjoyable.

A timeless museum to add to any visit to Paris. The Louvre has so many pieces of art, that you would need to spend all day every day for over 100 days to see each piece for just 30 seconds (338,000 objects). Needless to say you could spend an entire day walking around this museum which conveniently has description boards written in French, English, and Spanish at each exhibit. Every Friday, the Louvre is open for free for anybody under 26 from 6-9:45 which is a good thing to add to your trip if you're doing Paris on a budget!

We had a great time there at the museum. Amazing to see some of the world s greatest masterpieces. Would highly recommend buying tickets in advance online. Doing this allows you to skip the line getting in. The museum is absolutely huge so give yourself at least 2 hours. If you have less than that, have what you want to see planned out. The Mona Lisa was recently moved away from the other famous paintings. The line for the Mona Lisa was VERY long. It moved fast but it still took us 1:30 hours. The closest you can get to the painting is about 6 feet and the painting is smaller than you would expect. I high recommend downloading Rick Steve s free audio guide app. It was very informative and immersive. The only problem was that the tour had Mona Lisa located in its old location, so keep that in mind.

My experience was not the best. We waited in a very long line, in order to get in the museum, for at least an hour. Additionally, the staff was rude, very unhelpful and unprofessional when needed help, and could not fluently speak any other language rather than french. They also charged us for tickets and then we found out that anyone younger than 21 (coming from any country belonging to the EU) has free access to any french museum. It is so sad that a museum like the Louvre, with so many important and beautiful history and art works, to disappoint its visitors in such way.

A must go when in Paris. The amount of artwork that was available to see is mind blowing. This place is separated into multiple wings so you can go to the type of artwork you want much easier. The maps were helpful and have them in all types of languages. A lot of people went mainly to see the Mona Lisa which was expected. There was a huge line right in front of the Mona Lisa painting just to take turns taking pictures of it. Don't be too surprised when you realize it's not exactly huge compared to other artworks in the museum. The place was vast and clean and I have a great time marveling at the details of all artworks and sculptures.
