The Louvre museum, as an architectural landmark, is one of the highest pinnacles of human engineering, art, and construction. The building is imposing, awesome, and inspiring. The grandeur of it, below ground and above ground, make you feel proud to be a human being. It makes you want to become better. This idea directly reflects the contents of the Louvre - artists, at the height of their careers, all throughout human history, all trying to become better, sharing ideas, stories, and emotions about humans, for other humans to experience. It is an incredible collection that you can get lost in, and can easily be overwhelming. My suggestion: Pick a painting or sculpture that interests you, even just slightly. Stand in front of it. Observe and discuss internally what is going on in the painting. Notice the small things. Then look it up on your phone, and read about the history. Then look at the art some more. I use this process just to become closer to the art, because art and human history cannot be one without the other, and it makes me feel connected. Then, when I share these ideas about any work of art with other humans, I close the circle of the Louvre and the sharing process of art continues. Sharing has been done throughout all of human history, and by coming to the Louvre and experiencing even only a tiny fraction of the art within, you will leave knowing more about humanity and what really brings us together in this world.
