Aging museum, sinister. Bad lighting.
Works of quality but poorly developed.

A beautiful building housing a collection that is worth it, even if it is not worth the best international museums.

It's a great museum. The gift shop is a bit weak. But the cafe is very nice.

First of all, their address on Google maps is wrong. If they would take 5 minutes to correct it, that would be great! Then, they locked us in and at exactly 1800 everyone was gone.. Just a group of 10 of us...few kids.. Stuck in the twilight zone in the restaurant which is somewhere in between the museum but apparently not part of the museum. In the end, the security opened a few doors for us.. And we were free. Too bad i gave my jacket to the cloakroom.. Security took us around.. Luckily my jacket was still hanging there. So.. Don't let your stuff there! The building and exhibition we went to was nice.. But beware at 1800 sharp all employees will disappear!

What about a museum or even the entrance is a work of art.
Start by recharging your batteries on one of the benches in front of a magnificent fountain or when it is hot the birds bathe ... then towards art ...

We visited the temporary Expo on Mexican art and we loved it.

Nice Museum worth a visit, some great artist's that you will recognize. Also fantastic Expo of Egyptian Artifacts.

How to find adequate words to describe this place? Frankly it's hard, very hard ... Having taken advantage of Heritage Day to visit this place, from the entrance to the end I enjoyed! a museum, it is a place of conviviality and sharing for the locals, but also the tourists. Thanks to the city of Lyon to have so beautiful places!

Not as spectacular as the Louvre in Paris. But still a very nice collection of impressionists and Flemish and Dutch masters as well as a lot of material from ancient times. So definitely worth a visit.

Enjoyed this museum immensely, they had antiquities from Egypt and Rome, plus some gorgeous paintings from some of the masters. Entry fee was also reasonable.

I liked it ,one the best museums in France there was a few pictures of Henri Matisse and Paul gogine .

Magnificent exhibition on Pierre Soulage at the Museum of Fine Arts. His works represent the infinite they appease. Difficult to park.

Super museum, very fun games, beautiful works, a real journey through the ages. And especially a beautiful indoor courtyard!

In the middle of the city and very nice gallery with paintings and art spanning many centuries. From Ancient Egyptian to the most contemporary.
Set out on three floors it can be explored relatively rapidly or more slowly depending on the amount of time one has.
An audio tour is also available. The pretty courtyard at the entrance is a nice place to relax.

Very nice collection but rather cold and haughty welcome by the staff half hidden in the corners of the museum otherwise excellent welcome to the cafe / restaurant

It has more collections and paintings. It would be great for international student to learn and research in Lyon. Don't miss the Heritage Day for free entry.

Beautiful old abbey, with a shady garden just as beautiful. And we do not get tired of the exhibited works. A precious moment. A must see !

A permanent collection worthy of interest and exhibitions themes carefully renewed

The museum is exceptional but the reservation system sucks. Pay attention to the reservation. I was debited twice and had to buy a ticket at reception.

The permanent exhibition is breathtaking! I took 2.5 hours to see everything. I then went to the temporary exhibition los modernos which is also worth a detour if you are a lover of contemporary art

The location is interesting. The museum less. The works are many, but perhaps redundant for some periods and authors. Some worthy pieces are hardly visible.

Located in a former convent, this museum of the City of LYON is remarkable, by the works presented and also the quality of the premises. To visit absolutely.

Beautiful garden that can be visited for free before entering the Museum of Fine Arts

Visit on the occasion of the museum night. The collections that are exhibited are fantastic. Do not expect to go around at once, there is a lot to see and it is very beautiful.

Superb museum, beautiful collector's items, but an execrable staff (except the person from the ticket office) ...... pity for such a beautiful building

Always a quiet moment of culture of peace.problem of access for wheelchair (no parking, no entry other than "service" from behind.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the works exhibited and the variety of styles, the sympathy of its staff is appreciated. Magnify!

Plan a lot of time for your visit because there are so many beautiful things to see! We fell in love with the paintings part which is well distributed and documented. Also good to know: don't be fooled by the theoretical closing hours of the museum, some rooms close 30 minutes or even 1 hour before, so plan ahead to have time to do everything!

Very nice place, used to the Louvre I found beautiful pieces and liked to stay there for long hours, good selection of books in the bookstore. Flat on the museum guards but that is unfortunately a classic and on the site and the necessary reservations in times of health crisis. I imagine that such an institution has a team dedicated to digital. I'll be back

Sensational very well maintained and full of wonders. Medium-low ticket price for the quantity of works preserved. Inside a small bistrout for coffee break, sandwich. To be seen!

Huge museum. Many styles and eras are discussed. I spent a long time there and I have not yet visited it in full. I can't wait to visit the Egyptian section with the reconstruction of the pillars of the entrance to a tomb. It looked impressive but I had to leave.

This place was much better than I expected. Very nice art. There were a quartet of musicians playing in one of the rooms that were fabulous.

A museum to discover for its ancient and contemporary works of art. A building in the city out of time full of calm and reveries. A garden where it is good to stroll .... that happiness

Beautiful collections. Too bad that the works are so little highlighted by a lighting unworthy of such a museum.

Garden in the city center with pond, fountain and the Pompon bear: refreshing!
