Very nice place, calm, relaxing. Many works and for some famous!
Very nice place, calm, relaxing. Many works and for some famous!
Nice museum but if you really want to enjoy it, you have to have a lot of time because there are many rooms.
It has a locker and a cloakroom very practical.
The Lyon city card does not queue at the entrance.
We were there on the night of the museums. A lot of impressions! And the museum itself is large and with a serious exposition from sarcophagi to impressionists
Beautiful museum. Big collection of ancient Egyptian/Greek/Roman empire. Especially the paintings from beginning 20th century (Monet, Pissarro, Rodin...) are adorable! No reduction for teachers. Only for students untill 25 years. So rather expensive: 8/person.
Although art is not my thing, I enjoyed spending time there and then there are always benches in to sit.
Nice place, beautiful architecture, beautiful collections.
Very good exhibition on the emperor Claude and Claudia I very much appreciated this exhibition
One of the best museums I've ever seen, not to be missed, also the garden where to relax.
A place with lots a beautiful piece of arts. The staff welcomes you very warmly. The little shop at the end is quite memorable itself.
Very complete museum. Very practical and useful tour guides. Great and complementary temporary exhibitions at the Museum of Fine Arts. Free visit gardens and refectory
Very good place. Very rich collections. Interesting exhibition
To discover on the 2nd floor. Beautiful exhibition. Light redone. Enhancement of the tables. Warm colors and cool colors give beautiful looks. To discover and review for all visitors. Thank you.
Classics at affordable prices, a collection highlighted by the architecture of the place. The cloister is particularly effective when the weather is hot
A well organized museum, with beautiful collections. The building is beautiful.
It is a very rewarding discovery and a beautiful place!
Beautiful museum in the heart of Lyon metro and bus nearby a magnificent restful inner courtyard you can no longer hear the city noises you can stop there on the white people rest read nibble or simply enjoy taking a break in a magical place there a visit and pass the info to the people you love ... too cool
Beautiful museum both on the building with inner cloister and exhibitions. Audioguide for 1 , nice restaurant
Architecture alone deserves a visit. Quality of temporary exhibitions: discovery of contemporary talents less known to the general public
Great museum, allow time to visit all the rooms and admire the many works of art. Well located in the center of Lyon.
Collections breathtaking! Very nice place, I will return with pleasure!
Magnificent museum to visit when you come to Lyon. For art lovers, do not hesitate. It's big enough (not as big as the Louvres) and you can eat there, the cloister is calm and pleasant, a serene place.
A beautiful museum, in a beautiful building (an old abbey) which borders the Place des Terreaux, close to the Opera de Lyon and the City Hall.
Access to the museum, through a large arcaded courtyard, in the center of which sits a fountain, in a flowery decor, punctuated with benches and some sculptures.
The entrance to the museum is a bit expensive, for my taste (8 , full price). You can leave your clothes in the cloakroom (free).
The visit begins with the old chapel of the abbey, which brings together a very beautiful collection of sculptures, including a series of works by Rodin. We also admire some paintings (including charcoals).
Alas, for me, I did not have time to visit the second floor of the museum ...
Very well organized and very competent and pleasant staff
Museum on two floors: one for ancient art, the other for painting from the Middle Ages to contemporary (3 distinct rooms).
Also worth visiting is the chapel full of sculptures.
Lateral entrance for temporary exhibitions.
Audio guide for 1, also available in Italian.
Price of admission to 9.
Find the map and select a route according to your interest, because the visit could take more than two hours.
Recommended stop for those visiting Lyon
I returned to this museum some 40 years later. And I felt the same emotions in contact with the works presented.
An incredible museum with a wide collection, my favorites are the works of Degas, Rodin and Monet.
Nothing to add ! A wonder to visit and revisit. Impossible in one visit especially if you also want to enjoy an ephemeral exhibition.
Really nice collection. A great place to relax in the middle of town.
Beautiful museum and beautiful garden.
Good time spent strolling from room to room.
Attention on the first level which is closed from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. You have to go out even in the middle of your visit !!
The restaurant expensive for what it is and the cleanliness is just ..
Superb museum! In addition to the magnificent architecture of the building, the collections are extremely rich. One afternoon is not enough to see everything in detail. It would be better to do the museum in 2 half days to fully appreciate, especially with the very affordable entry price, this is quite possible.
Nice museum to visit comfortably even in just a couple of hours
The inner courtyard is a very pleasant place and the museum has very good exhibits
Nice museum but nothing more ... Audio guides were no longer available. As a local, an app can replace everything as a foreign tourist, a guide is still useful. Explanation in the rooms only available in French ...
Very big, a bit difficult to navigate, but interesting.
Excellent museum with great sculptures and Egyptian collection
Superb museum, one can go there to admire works like drawing some of them. Nice staff and very interesting nights
A beautiful place to visit, to take a coffee and to admire art in Lyon
The building was beautiful, but I expected more from the exhibition, the captions were written only in French and no explanation in English
Very rich museum. The most a very pleasant indoor garden
Very nice museum on three floors. One floor for paintings. Nice little indoor garden and a nice cafeteria
Ask before buying the ticket if all the rooms of the permanent exhibition are visitable
Beautiful museum, the permanent collections are a little disappointing
weak bookshop .... temporary exhibition badly hung.
The visit is worth seeing if only for the gardens and the architectural beauty of the building. Nice gallery of sculptures and beautiful collections. The staging of the works is sometimes ridiculously solemn.
A beautiful museum that makes us travel through the works of art from antiquity to modern art
Beautiful gardens and an amazing 19th century collection of paintings
The place is magnificent. The exhibits are well highlighted.
There are some wonders.
Museum with statues and old paintings. It's not worth it if you don't know this kind of art. Admission is 8eur.
The collection is small, but there is something to see. Nice to stroll around the patio.
Twice I come here. First the garden of statues: a quiet place in the center of Lyon, an old cloister.
Then the museum: the works are very well developed, the explanations perfect.
Take a tour through the museum bookstore: you will not come out empty handed.
Alas too big so I have to go back and 12 EUR this is expensive
Temporary exhibition the bathers of Picasso. Very pleasant.
All the staff we met were charming.
Big black point the bartender imbued and who does not like customers
Beautiful museum, especially loved the paintings...
The Museum of Fine Arts is the most important museum in Lyon. It boasts paintings by Italian and Flemish artists (Perugino, Tintoretto, Gauguin, Monet, Bacon, van Gogh, Picasso), sculptures and artifacts; the section dedicated to Egypt is particularly relevant.
The collections are exhibited in Palazzo San Pietro, a historic building within the city.
The website is complete and multilingual: audio tracks can be downloaded from it to hear a description of each work.
The full ticket costs 8; the reduced for under 26 costs 4.
Amazing museum, I am not ant art fun. But there are amazing piece that I stop to admire.
There are many valuable items in the museum. The museum itself would benefit from some refreshment work.
Good light and excellent position of the paints and statues inside the museum
beautiful ! unpleasant staff but major cultural site;)
Splendid with passionate mediators who know how to live up to their audience.
Very interesting museum with a large permanent exhibition.
'The drape' exhibition
Sublime, necessarily sublime
Really nice museum. The ticket prices are very cheap. Highly recommend it.
Seen on drapes. A little disappointed with this exhibition. After the Museum of Fine Arts is magnificent of course. Skip the line entries, good organization at the time when we passed .....
Okay, it was nice to see many things to see and unexpected works.
